Words cannot describe the quality of the sushi they serve. This place is always my favorite AYCE sushi place to go to. I like this location because you can place your name on the app without having to physically be present at the restaurant (the Buena Park location requires you to be physically present). The servers were attentive, and the sushi came out fast. The ambience is casual. I did see a number of large parties. I would totally recommend this location. Plus, if you have to wait, you can walk around the area and maybe get a drink from the bar across the street or do a little shopping at HomeGoods. read more

Finally tried xfish with my husband and son. We opted for the lunch menu since we were there early on a week day. It was definitely enough to try different things and not get overwhelmed! We also appreciated the variety but stuck to some favorites like the garlic edamame, tri pepper salmon, and kiss me roll. The unagi is also really good but too bad it's only 2 max per person! I ordered the wakame udon for my son and he devoured it! I'm curious to know what else we could've tried but the experience was enough to leave us wanting to come back! read more

Second time here since this place does not disappoint! I did the omakase option and it was worth getting something different besides your normal nigiri. Lots of different choices and by the end of the second round, I was stuffed! Jaden was super attentive and quick with helping us out when we needed something! read more

I'm disappointed with the service I received, especially from the manager. I came in expecting a professional and helpful experience, but the way my concern was handled felt dismissive and unhelpful. Instead of trying to resolve the issue or listen properly, the manager's attitude made the situation more frustrating. I understand that businesses can have busy or difficult days, but customer concerns should still be handled with respect and basic professionalism. Because of this experience, I left feeling unsatisfied and not valued as a customer. I hope management takes feedback like this seriously and improves how customer issues are handled moving forward. read more

I've been to both locations multiple times, but never had a terrible experience until a few weeks ago. We came in and got seated pretty quickly, and ordered just as quickly. No servers came by, only a busser. Our appetizers and drinks came out, and we continued to wait 30 minutes for our food. No one came to check on our table in that time, but we did ask the same wonderful busser for help, and he flagged down a server. The server, Megan, came up to our table and stood there. She did not say anything and stared at us. It was really off-putting. We let her know and she shrugged and said "I don't know but it's probably coming out soon" and walked away. We had to ask each other if we had an unreasonable request because we felt so uncomfortable. Our food came out after 40 minutes and by that point, we were already losing our appetites because of that interaction. The whole thing felt unorganized and we didn't know how to ask for help. We asked employees for another beer, and it kept not coming out. The bussers here are much better than the servers, and he was the only one who made our experience positive. The rest of our orders came out with around the same wait, but we did not have a good experience at all, even though the food was good and the place was clean. When the bill came, we were surprised to see a required 15% gratuity on the receipt. No wonder that server did not put any effort into interacting with us. If you are working as a server at a popular restaurant, why would you make everyone feel so uncomfortable? I really think that X-FISH should do a better job of training their servers, because this was absolutely unacceptable. This was one experience out of many, but I really will never come back to this location. read more

I had doubts about the omakase being worth it. I've tried it at the Buena Park location before and it was honestly worse than their regular sushi bar, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt because they were in their grand opening stage. This time, I loved it. The waitress didn't explain what any of the cuts were, unfortunately, but the quality and freshness of the fish were pristine. The nigiri were meticulously plated and topped with various garnishes that complemented the flavor of each fish. I can't choose a favorite because I genuinely loved them all. We also ordered some times from the sushi bar: salmon, tuna tartare, yuzu yellowtail, unagi, surf clam, and bluefin tuna. These were alright. I would only order the salmon and unagi again. I'd pass on the carpaccio and craft red ramen next time, but I'd definitely order the limited items again. The jumbo scallop, smoked salmon, and ikura were delicious. And finally, the yolo roll. Rolls are such a fun way to change up the scene from all the nigiri and this one was refreshing and a good size that doesn't make you too full. We went around 9 p.m. on a Tuesday, so there was no wait and the service was pretty quick. It's located right next to the parking structure too, so it's a very convenient walk. read more

Quality sushi, with efficient and attentive service. It can be loud but the place is clean

X-fish offers very great quality fish, and the best part is the fish to rice ratio being appropriate. Not too much sushi rice, which is a great thing. It's AYCE, and the menu is scanned by the QR code once you are seated. Unfortunately, reservations are not allowed anymore. You have to sign into their kiosk waitlist upon arrival. Also, you have 90 minutes allotted for your dining experience. Parking is located inside a free parking structure, and walking to the restaurant was about a less than 5 minute quick walk. There are 3 different menu options, we opted for the second option. Food is 5/5. Don't miss out on the Japanese chicken skewers where the servers walk around asking tables. read more

I am still dreaming about this sushi! This place was so good and I love that they don't overload the rice. My favorite piece was the tri-peppered salmon. It was so soft and buttery. For each round, you can order 10 pieces per person. For the higher quality pieces, like jumbo scallop, you can get 2 pieces per person. The place is cramped so you're not allowed to bring a stroller in, but you can bring a car seat in. We came around 730pm on a Friday night and it was a hour wait. We just ended up walking around the world mart. Best to come during lunch time when there's less people. 1000% will come back here next time I'm in LA. read more

The store itself is very clean and minimalistic. The service is fast and Andrew was great. The Food We got the lunch menu for $28 which gives you access to 3 rounds of 10 pieces of nigiri per person. We thought the fish was good quality and there wasn't too much rice. We especially liked the salmon, peppered tuna, and yellowtail. I hadn't had sushi in a while, so when my partner suggested AYCE, I didn't hesitate for a second--I said, "Let's go to X-Fish." I had only been once before and couldn't remember all the details, but I did remember thinking, "This might be one of the best AYCE sushi spots in SoCal." So this second visit was to confirm just that--and it absolutely did not disappoint. We went with the omakase selection that's included with the AYCE menu, and wow--everything was fresh, well-crafted, and satisfying from start to finish. Halfway through the meal, I realized why I didn't recall every detail from my first visit: I had nothing negative to say. I wasn't busy analyzing or critiquing--I was simply enjoying good food, in a great atmosphere, with attentive service. For a little while, you forget everything going on outside. The only thing that matters is what's in front of you: excellent quality sushi, friendly staff, and a vibe that makes you want to stay longer. X-Fish isn't just a good AYCE spot--it's one of the rare ones where quality and experience come together perfectly. I'll definitely be back again. read more

Oh man this place has gone downhill. Maybe it's because I went during lunch time on a holiday, even though it wasn't packed at all. The server spoke so softly I could barely hear him. The table we were taken to had water spilled on the floor that no one bothered to clean up. There was drops of soy sauce on the table because the soy sauce bottle was leaking. It would leak from the side every time we poured. The first time I came here, the fish was so good, so worth the price. The fish this time was definitely not worth the price anymore. One of the orders with this orange sauce tasted so odd, almost like vomit. I thought I had found a new sushi spot to frequent but I guess not. Hopefully the Buena Park location is better. read more

Lots of options w/ good quality sushi and appetizers. Great service too! All the servers were great and fast!

Spacious and fast. Good ambiance and service. Would come again. Food was good too. Convenient ordering system.

This sushi spot was very good with fresh, high-quality fish, and I really appreciated that they use a lighter amount of rice, letting the fish shine. The service was great overall, everything came out fast when we arrived before the rush hour. Once it got busy, the service did slow down a bit, but that's totally normal during peak times. The restaurant was filled with a lot of Asian customers, which is always a good sign that the sushi is legit. Definitely coming back again the next time I'm in the area! read more

An all-you-can-eat sushi experience, omakase, and an izakaya setting, all under one roof? That's exactly what X-Fish Izakaya delivers! Located in Downtown Brea with plenty of free parking, the restaurant offers a warm, contemporary ambiance that makes for a great gathering spot. Make sure to arrive early during peak hours because the waiting list does fill up fast! My party and I all ordered the $55 omakase which includes everything from their AYCE signature menu, along with 9 pieces of chef's choice sushi. The food we had all tasted fresh and delicious, and the chef's choice sushi included some great selections. However, as fresh as the fish tasted, I ended up having some painful stomachaches following the rest of the evening. Also, I was expecting to try more items from the Pass Around Menu, which featured 3 different kinds of yakitori, but only one dish was passed around once during our 90 minute dining time. I know the menu says it's available until the product runs out, but it was only around 6pm. Service was decent; the waiters came around to refill our water and take our orders, while the kitchen worked quickly to get our orders in. They do enforce the 90 minute allotted time pretty strictly, and ended up telling us we had to leave soon after we paid the bill. I totally understand it was the dinner rush, but ending the experience with getting rushed out, followed by an evening of stomachaches just wasn't the best way to end the night. read more

X-Fish - Yummy!! - Sushi Bars Near Me - Brea, California

I really wanted to like XFish in Brea because the food itself is great -- fresh, good-quality fish, and overall solid flavors. Unfortunately, the service was extremely slow, and that overshadowed the experience for me. I've been to plenty of AYCE sushi spots like Aburi and Sake2Me, and even when they're busy, food still comes out at a reasonable pace. That wasn't the case here. Even with some empty tables, the wait times were surprisingly long. We sat down at 5:49 PM, filled out our order sheet, and it was picked up at 5:55 PM. We got edamame first, then a few appetizers around 6:26 PM, but no sushi until 6:29 PM. That's about a 30-minute wait just for the FIRST round of sushi, which felt excessive for AYCE. Appetizers trickled out, but the sushi took forever. They also walked around offering free yakitori, which honestly felt like a way to keep customers occupied because of how long the sushi was taking. Bottom line: XFish has great food, but the service is so slow that I'm not sure it's worth the ~$40 price when other AYCE spots are just as good and manage to keep food coming out in a timely manner. Until the pacing improves, I'd probably stick to other places. read more

They offer a ton of items with the AYCE option, form sushi to ramen and a bunch of apps. Personally just stick with the fish imo. I thought their fish quality was good and fish to rice ratio was decent, about 2:1. However, we tried their tonkatsu ramen and spicy Nagasaki udon and both of these really killed it for us. Especially the ramen 0/5. I'm hoping it was just an off day, but the ramen was inedible. It tasted like they didn't remove the old water they use to cook the noodles in as the broth was so thick with flour and all you could taste was flour. read more

The quality is amazing here. Everyone is so kind and helpful, This is our new go too!

My family and I come here at least once a month and we really enjoy this location over the Buena Park. My daughter especially loves the wagmi roll and their yakitori. I wish they had wagmi nigiri! They advertise themselves as a sushi and yakitori restaurant but we actually didn't get any the past four times but today we finally got to have some. They just give it out as they cook it. They had some complaints about their salmon roe nigiri being salty even though it's supposed to be. So they made it taste very sake-like last time but it was much better today normal tasting but less salty. Our server was Megan, she was very nice and she genuinely asked us how we were doing. read more
