    If you like modern pilates/want to start pilates, Xcore is an amazing studio! The instructors are super nice and have the best energy. The workouts are 40 minutes long and you come out feeling sore & great! Would give more stars if I could :)

    I'm so excited about pilates at X'Core. I had never done a pilates class on the machines before. Before class, Maren helped me pick out grippy socks and showed me how to use the machine with a few demonstrations. Throughout class, she patiently repeated instructions and gave me great cues to adjust my alignment. My favorite part of class was at the beginning when Maren asked everyone's name. Everyone smiled and laughed throughout class and cheered each other on. After class I stayed to chat with the other women and left the class feeling like I had some new friends. I'm new to Marin and am eager to meet people and form new friendships. X'Core feels like a great place for me to connect with my new community. Thank you Maren!

    Love this - I've done over 300 classes here. I'm addicted! Can't recommend enough. This program helped me lose all my weight post baby.

In the beginning, I took private classes as honestly I felt too uncoordinated and out of shape to work out in front of other people. Over time, I then graduated to her group classes. Both formats I enjoyed and found helpful. Parand has a wide repertoire of workouts, and it's always interesting. Parand is also just a lovely human being. It was always great to catch up with her during my classes. If you are trying to find new ways to be active, I really recommend starting with Parand as a first step.

Sauna and cold plunge option too. I now take five fitness classes a week there (Total Body Conditioning), yoga by Daniel on Friday mornings is a great bonus too (though I can't often make that time). The thing that finally prompted me to leave a review, though I'd been meaning to for awhile: On occasion they have catered food. I eat plant-based, as I am vegan - against the exploitation and killing of animals for unnecessary food products we can thrive without. I'd asked the owner if they could offer more plant-based options next time, and if next year if they can please re-consider promoting 'Turkey Burn' classes (after Thanksgiving), suggesting perhaps just Thanksgiving Burn instead. As us vegans would rather not have to be bombarded with animal-killing messages even at our gym, as we are everywhere else in society. The owner was so gracious and open, thanked me for my feedback, that they'd consider taking 'Turkey' out of their promotions, and that he's learning more about plant-based nutrition (I'm Certified in it, and sent him a link to The Game Changers documentary about vegan athletes, bodybulders, firefighters etc.). He added tofu scramble and fruit options to their Omelete Day breakfast catering, and said they'd have more plant-based options for other events. So refreshing. It's low key, quiet, people don't bug you, the equipment is top and well cared for. The classes are varied and there's a time for everyone. I've barely scratched the surface of possible workouts here- in 6 mos. They have Pilates for an additional fee to members but it's a deal in and of itself- there are weights in a semi private room as well as throughout the gym and I love the women's sauna in the very clean locker room. Super nice and helpful staff. I'm happy.

The classes are challenging and fun and I know that if I show up, I'll get a great workout. I have noticed a difference in my body and I'm excited to keep it up. Outside of the gym I'm noticing that my running is improving. I've shaved almost a minute off my mile since I started training with David, even though that wasn't something I was specifically training for. When I broke my arm, I was so bummed that I wouldn't be able to work out. But David encouraged me to go to class and modified my workouts. My Ortho Dr. & Physical therapist were amazed how quickly I healed. The Dr told me that being active promotes blood flow and speeds up healing. It worked, I only missed a week from the gym and could put weight on my arm after 4 months! David's mission is to bring together a community of healthy and happy people through fitness. He and his team train in a personalized way that allows every person to be in their best shape because they believe that everyone can be an athlete. I personally believe that the owner of a gym is a huge reflection on the gym and its direction. With David's friendly demeanor, knowledge of physical fitness, and ambition to take the gym to the next level to further the quality of lives through diet and physical movement.

I went there with a friend around 11:20 am on a Sunday, and David was already there with few people , getting ready to start the session at 11:30. He charged me only $10, and gave us a small discount for my friend, and charged him only $8. In the past , I had minor IT-band syndrome , and after mentioning that to David, he showed extreme knowledge of the human body, and explained to me exactly what exercise I should, and shouldn't do. The workout was intense and my body felt sore then next day , which logically is I great result from the hour long workout we had ;) Thank you David, and keep doing what you do, because you are really good at it !

    I want to highly recommend Maria Molina as a personal trainer at the Bay Club, Marin. I initially…read morestarted working with Maria to recover from a knee injury. I wanted to strengthen my leg muscles so that I could return to playing tennis. As someone who is over 80 yrs old, I was somewhat skeptical that weight training could make a big difference in my athletic abilities but one year and half later of training with Maria and I believe I'm more physically fit than I was in my 40's. Everything is easier (i.e., walking up stairs, carrying heavy loads, keeping up with grandkids ,etc.) To say my quality of life has improved due to my work with Maria is an understatement, Maria is a consummate professional. She explains exercises clearly, pays attention to form and keeps sessions motivating and enjoyable. One day when I was lifting weights on my own at the gym, a gentleman commented, "I see that you are experienced with weight lifting, Your form is perfect. You must have been doing this for many years." I give Maria full credit for teaching me the right (safe) way to lift. I occasionally have a few sore muscles but recovery is quick after a workout. Probably the most important thing I've learned from Maria is to believe in myself. Sometimes she tries a new exercise that I think is impossible for me to achieve, let alone master. Her confidence is unwavering and has a profound effect on my mental attitude. I see few women my age working out with weights at the Bay Club. I hope this review will encourage someone who is considering personal training to contact Maria. You will be amazed at what you can accomplish with her expert guidance.

She's not only an amazing instructor, but also a standout leader and role model. She teaches a variety of classes and every single one is top-notch. Her glutes class in particular literally kicks ass--in the best way! --Meg is one of the best TRX instructors I've ever had. Her instruction is clear, her class structure is thoughtful, and the challenge level increases over time, which I truly appreciate. She also provides great options for those wanting to push further.
