Working with Parand was one of the best decisions I have ever made. She built my body back after having 2 kids. I am now stronger than I have ever been in my life and I am grateful to her each time pick up my baby, or carry my toddler on my back. I am back to doing the activates I enjoy without worrying about getting hurt. She is very knowledgeable, her classes are always different and fun and she has a great energy. The expense was a lot for me, and I considered other options. But her expertise, the accountability, and the personalized sessions were 100% worth it. The North Bay has gained a treasure! read more

I highly recommend Parand as a fitness coach, if you are looking to become more active or find new ways to be active. When I first started working out with Parand, I had exercised sporadically over the years but nothing really stuck. My scheduled work-outs with her helped me get into the best shape of my life and begin to incorporate fitness as a regular and ongoing habit. Over this time, I also lost about 20 pounds and significantly increased my overall strength and flexibility. In the beginning, I took private classes as honestly I felt too uncoordinated and out of shape to work out in front of other people. Over time, I then graduated to her group classes. Both formats I enjoyed and found helpful. Parand has a wide repertoire of workouts, and it's always interesting. Parand is also just a lovely human being. It was always great to catch up with her during my classes. If you are trying to find new ways to be active, I really recommend starting with Parand as a first step. read more

Parand is awesome! She cares about her clients, she is direct and honest, and doesn't make me feel pressured or judged. I'm so happy I found her. I'm feeling much more like my old self with more energy even after 4 sessions. read more

I have worked out on my own for 30 years on and off, but decided to try working with a trainer to learn how to exercise safely with weights. Parand makes me excited about working out and always keeps things super interesting and varied - weights, exercise bands, mat, pilates, and more. She's so knowledgeable, she's challenging, and she's very, very kind...I'm so happy to have connected with her. Totally recommend! read more

Parand is absolutely great-- not so difficult that you do not enjoy the sessions but not so easy that you do not see benefits. She meets you where you are health-wise but always challenges you. Another reason I love working out with her is that every session is different and you will not be bored. I came to Parand having not worked out for some time and she helped me get in shape for climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro. I absolutely could not have done it without her. read more

Parand is amazing. I've been working with her for a year and she has helped me to completely transform my body. I'm 59 and super fit now after years of being out of shape. I started seeing Parand during COVID and didn't leave! She got me on my weight loss and toning journey. She was patient and very skilled! She is excellent at instruction and I would highly recommend her. She has years of experience. I could not ask for a better trainer! I am limited on time, but she was very accommodating and she takes her job very seriously. She is a trainer for the people and loves to drive results! read more

Parand. Is. Awesome. I was in my late 20's, 30lbs overweight and terribly out of shape when I met Parand. Like can only jog for 30 seconds till I gasp for air out of shape. Then I meet Parand, we talked about my goals: need to change my unhealthy life style, get fit, lose weight, eat better. And we get to work! She set a REALISTIC eating regiment. No pastries or processed sugars, and no carbs after 5pm. Occasionally I do break those rules like once a week or every other week and I am still able to maintain my weight. I basically still get to eat almost everything I want to eat without feeling too restricted. And I work out with her twice a week. Her workouts push you to your limit. She will push hard but she's also able to read if it's too far and turn it down a notch but she will always push you to do your best! I am now super fit. I have lost 20lbs after sticking with her for 4 months and have been able to keep the weight off. I am the healthiest I have ever been and I have Parand to thank for that. Parand you're the best! read more

I have been working with Parand for 4 and a half years. She has helped me with personal programs. She is the best inaginable, and very kind and easy to work with. I am 77 years old with arthritis, and without her help I would have trouble even moving. I particularly like the way she designs classes just for me, working on whatever I need. I give her the highest recommendation. read more

Parand is a great trainer! Every class was different and I was never board, the studio in her house has everything needed and it's very clean! She is nice, easy to communicate with and in the same time always pushes your limits. I came to her after my third birth and she helped me a lot with my goals. I would definitely recommend Parand as your personal trainer :) read more

I've been a client of Parand's for four years. And I can confidently say... there is no one else that does what she does to keep things interesting and her client's fit. She is unique in her abilities as a personal trainer... ranging from Pilates, kick boxing, boot camp, aerobics (which I love... as I was a certified instructor), as well as using stretch bands, weights, etc. You name it. Parand will do it. She also has a few of her own techniques that no other instructor provides. She is a compassionate, caring person. Prior to COVID, I was attending her classes with my friend with Alzheimers. She was flexible and caring, while still keeping it supportive and fun for both of us. She's the best! read more

Lacking motivation and need a little push? Parand is your gal. After 5 or so months of training with Parand, I feel stronger, healthier, and happier. I highly recommend her! read more

Parand is an excellent, energetic and knowledgeable personal trainer. I have been working out several days a week under Parand's leadership for over five years and have found her delightful, a motivator and an encourager. As a senior, I appreciate her sensitivity and flexibility to adapt exercises to my physical abilities and needs. Even though we transitioned from in person training to zoom during COVID, I looked forward to our online sessions. I highly recommend Parand as a gifted personal trainer. read more

I had a great experience working with Parand. I have a lot of experience with exercise and fitness, but she was able to help me fine tune some things I have struggled with. For example, my energy level varied widely during our sessions and through multiple conversations we were able to figure out what types of foods (protein, carbs, etc.) I should be eating and when to keep my energy level steadier. She is also well versed in a variety of styles, so some weeks we focused on cardio, some weeks we focused on weights, other weeks we did pilates and mat work. I plan to return eventually when my schedule calms down a bit! read more

I don't know where to begin.. Parand has been my life-saver! I was just healing from a knee injury and needed to lose 60 lbs from my pregnancy. I didn't want a trainer that was extreme or didn't understand a woman's body after pregnancy. Parand customized our workouts to accommodate my knee injury while still pushing me to strength my legs and core. She's well experienced in different types of cardio and weight workouts and kept me challenged and motivated. Her studio is relaxing, comfortable and well suited for folks that prefer a private setting. Oh, and to top it off, she's a phenomenal person that truly cares about the success of her clients! I'm beyond grateful that I found a trainer like her- I've lost 30 lbs in 6 months and it's because of her coaching. Sign up today! read more

I have been working out with Parand three-time a week, for almost 5 months now! Every class is different and you never board! I have a knee problem and I feel great since I'm working with her. Tell me if this sounds familiar-- I want to be healthy, I want to loose weight, I want to look better in my clothes. I don't want to carry large tires on my back, do a hundred pull-ups, or look like a gladiator. This is about where I found myself 4 weeks ago when I came across Parand's website. http://www.eastbaywomenspersonaltraining.com/. We first met for coffee and a half hour try-out session. Right away she evaluated me, my week points, my goals, and started me out on Pilates to strengthen my back before going into more high-intensity sessions. She is no joke. She will work with you and she will push you. When you screw up on your diet, she'll let you know. I don't know how she knows, but she does. She is also super encouraging! And she really wants the best for her clients. Your achievements are her achievements. Loosing weight, exercising, and diet is hard. It is really nice to have someone on your side who gets it, knows how to get where you want to go, and is with you at every step of the way. read more

I have been working out with Parand twice weekly now for over two years-- working with her is without a doubt one of the best things I have done for my physical and mental well-being in the past decade! I have kept off several pounds and raised my overall fitness level quite a bit. I sleep better at night and find my baseline mood is much improved. Seeing a professional personal trainer like Parand is really an investment in myself. She works so hard for her clients, trying to figure out what will take them to the next level-- and she is always warm, professional, and encouraging. As a bonus, she is just an amazing human being-- funny and kind-- who is fun to hang out with while you are sweating! read more

For the last 2 years, I have been working out with Parand once or twice a week. She has amazing intuition for what a woman's body can accomplish and has helped push me toward goals that I thought were perhaps unattainable. Parand listens to your concerns about how the body is behaving or not on any given day and she alters routines based on that information. If you have the commitment to work out consistently, Parand is an excellent trainer and example of how our bodies can transform with the proper guidance. read more

I can't speak highly enough of Parand. I worked with her for about a year before a move and work changes meant I could no longer work with her anymore. It's been a few months now and I miss her so much! I came to her low energy, overweight, and unhappy with my general wellness. I couldn't hold a plank for 20 seconds, let alone make it through our work outs without stumbling away in a stunned state. Within just a month of sessions, I was able to do a plank for 45 seconds and it wasn't long after that I was up to nearly 80 seconds! I was sleeping better, and felt confident in my own physical strength. Parand does a variety of different types of work out, from pilates to kickboxing to cardio and strength training. However, she's consistent about the rotation so I could definitely track my progress and see clearly how she was helping to push me further and further. Parand will be your partner when it comes to reaching your goals and holding you accountable. The best part: she's also just a kind and thoughtful human being. read more

Parand is simply the best. I have been training with her twice per week for a few years now and she always manages to keep the workouts fun and challenging. She has an endless array of workouts in her toolbox- kickboxing, cardio, weights, abs, bootcamp, stretch band, stick - you name it, she does it. She is incredibly knowledgeable, kind, funny - I always look forward to my workouts with her. One of the many benefits of personal training is that she can target the areas where I need the most work, or adapt if I have any injuries. I am in my mid-forties and am more fit now than I was in my 30's because of Parand! I highly recommend her to anyone looking for an excellent trainer. read more

I had a great time working with Parand! For context, I am a 28-year old female, and I worked with Parand for approximately 4-5 months in preparation for my wedding. I was pretty out-of-shape when I started, and Parand helped me get back on the right path. Parand helps keep the workouts fun, and I recommend working out with her if you just don't know where to start. read more

What can I say? Nothing but fabulous accolades for Parand. I've been training with her for the past 1.5 years and I'm back to my normal weight. Her training sessions helped me lose the 15 lbs I wanted to lose and I have kept it off. Parand is a pleasure to be around and I enjoy my sessions despite the sweating, lol. So integrating her sessions into my weekly schedule is hardly a chore. She's sweet and encouraging, but at the same time she keeps you accountable for your progress. She tailors your sessions based on your needs which is necessary as you get stronger over time. Her training has allowed me to tackle some pretty difficult hikes as well as feeling stronger and more coordinated. Very important as one grows older. I'm so happy I selected Parand 1.5 years ago when I was searching for a personal trainer. I couldn't imagine working with anyone else. Thank you Parand! read more

I've been training with Parand for about 3 months. I started 8 weeks after an elective hip replacement. She has been amazing. I have had personal trainers for 20 years, and so am very considered when choosing someone to work with. Parand ticks all the boxes. She is incredibly knowledgeable and has a huge repetoire of exercises to offer you at any given moment. She is an expert at tailoring the workouts to ensure the training maximizes your abilities on that day. My hip feels great, I'm painfree, and have had the extra bonus of loosing weight and toning. I cannot recommend her highly enough! read more

I've been working with Parand for 6 months. I gave up on the thought that I would use my stationary bike to get back in shape, and group fitness classes have not worked for me. I found Parand through a personal recommendation from a friend. My weight has not been an issue, but flexibility, balance, coordination, muscle tone, and posture are focus points in my sessions with Parand. Parand puts together a series of exercises, including cardio, that have greatly improved all of these points. She adjusts and varies the exercises to fit my ability (or inability!) keeps the sessions moving and I find the hour goes quickly and is fun and not boring. I'm 62. read more

As a lazy over eater who doesn't like to exercise, Parand is the perfect PT for me. She's a motivator, she's clear and concise, and doesn't take any excuses. I started 2 months ago and I've asked for twice a week because I'm now on a mission with her guiding the way. She's tough and she's the reason I'm going to actually lose the weight then keep it off. read more

I've been seeing Parand for about 7 months now and I don't know why it's taken me so long to write a review. She really is the best. I need to have the accountability of a personal trainer to work out regularly- if left on my own I will never make it to a gym. I tried other personal trainers years ago but never clicked with them so I'm so glad to have found Parand. She's tough, so if you ask for a hard workout watch out, she'll definitely give it to you but it feels like such an accomplishment once you're done. So far I've lost about 13 pounds, although I know I'd have lost more if I followed her diet suggestions more closely (sugar is my weakness). It's nice to be able to fit in my old clothes again but even better to feel so much stronger and overall healthier. Thank you Parand, I'm so happy to have found you! read more

Parand is a miracle! She is the FIRST trainer I have ever had that has actually managed to make the workouts both super tough and fun, but has also changed the way I think about and eat food. I want to stress that Parand is super intense, as are her workouts, and she is very direct and honest in her communication. For me, this is ideal. I KNOW why I'm working out with her, so her telling me hard truths isn't devastating. And the results are dramatic. I had a baby 1.5 years ago, and now I'm finally able to lose the weight in a healthy way. My relationship with food is TOTALLY different (her tag line is, "if you want to eat the cookie, do it naked in front of a mirror. You probably won't eat the cookie".) and I finally feel like I understand what foods my body actually needs to be high performance. I'm beyond thrilled with her and the workouts we do - she is truly the best! read more

I am not a fan of exercise or exercise classes. I like to walk and hike, but have successfully avoided gyms and classes for decades. But Parand has changed me. I actually look forward to my twice weekly classes with her and wish I could go more often. Parand is fun and encouraging and she tailors each class to my needs and abilities. When I started with her I could barely make it through 10 minutes of cardio before collapsing on my mat. Now, not too many weeks later, I am doing 40 minutes of aerobic exercise! And I feel great. read more

I've been going to Parand, twice a week, for almost 2 years. I am so impressed with the progress I've made, especially in these areas: balance, coordination, posture, and strengthening of my arms and legs. She's fun, personable, and professional--but tough. Contact her to get YOUR body in tune. I'm 73 and if I can do it, so can you!! read more

I visited several workout facilities within the neighborhood before I decided to give Parand a try. Within two months, I lost a majority of the undesired weight (18 lbs). I tried losing weight on my own in the past, but have never been this successful. My main objective in seeing a personal trainer, besides losing weight, is the many health issues that come with old age. Having a personal trainer such as Parand gave me that support that I needed, kept me on track, and also guided me on a diet. Within the short period of time that I was with Parand, I can honestly say that I am feeling healthier than ever. I could not have done this on my own. Thanks to Parand for giving me that constant push; her routine is hard and I have never excercised this hard before. Yes, it takes work, and be prepared to be challenged, but that is what we need from a trainer if we want positive results! read more

Don't know where that "I'm with Melissa M." Not me. I don't even know a Melissa, so I hope this goes under my other review! Parand is fantastic and my legs are like rocks! And the rest of me is falling in line, thanks to Parand. Hooray! read more

I just noticed that my original review was from October of 2014... 3.5 years later I'm still with her and 45 pounds lighter. Parand was exactly what I needed to get fit and focus on taking better care of myself. Her exercises are interesting and engaging, and as I've gotten more fit, she had increased the intensity and keeps pushing me to the next level. I can do things now I couldn't even as a teenager... like snowboard several days in a row without being sore! I would definitely recommend Parand. read more

Parand is amazing, and is just what I needed to restart my self-care. After having a child three years ago and suspecting that I was never going to look or feel like I had before that, I failed multiple times to find either the right trainer for me or the motivation to really do anything about it for the long term. From my first session with Parand, I was inspired and had so much fun with the amazingly effective workouts that I wanted to keep coming back for more; I had a great time losing 13 lbs in the first month, and 30 in four months. Parand worked around my busy schedule of professional and family life, and always kept the sessions fresh and fun. She tailors my workouts to targeting particular post-partum concerns, and I look and feel great! I love working out with Parand, and I recommend her to anyone wanting a new start! read more

Parand is a fantastic trainer. She adapts the program to your needs and is always changing it up so it stays interesting. Working with her I got stronger, leaner and felt great. She is very knowledgeable about women's bodies and needs. Her focus on women is a real plus. I am almost 60 years old and felt years younger after working with Parand. Highly recommended! read more

Parand is a great trainer and will not disappoint! For a few years I tried going to many local gyms and various gym personal trainers but always ended up dropping out because my developing arthritis and a tear in one knee, prevented me from keeping up with the routines. Almost exacting a year ago I was at the point of giving up. Thanks to Parand's YELP reviews I decided to try her out as my last resort - I was truly demoralized. Parand says she is not a miracle worker but she is wrong. As a trainer she is very experienced and works with YOUR body and YOUR needs which means there is never a one size fits all session. She trains people like me who are trying to rejoin the exercise world but also serious athletes but I never feel bad because she pushes me at my level. With my arthritis and a knee tear, Parand is extremely careful to craft exercises that strengthen and challenges those areas with great care to avoid injuries. The workouts are always changing and challenging which keeps you engaged. After a year, my knees have regain considerable strength and coordination and I can even run and do planks! Her work out studio is airy and very clean which is a great plus if you are tired of dingy gym rooms. I have been going to her twice a week and I look forward to seeing her. Aside from her professional and experience as a trainer, Parand is a real person. She is interested in your overall heath, diet and everyday stresses and provides what I call "Parand tidbit sayings" which are really great and motivating. She has a terrific sense of humor and is a real down to earth person. I thought I would never say this but I look forward to working out and its because of her. Dania O. read more
