This place is fabulous! For anyone hesitant to join up, don't be! I was first a little wary of sparring with others, but there are 2 4pm classes a week (Tue/Thu) that are technique only, so it's just you and the bag! Also a great way to break into the right way to destroy inanimate objects. The class is conveniently located (parking, near major roads/highway), the times I've gone I've never felt crowded and the coaches always take time to show you the moves, and then walk to each person to make sure they are doing it right to avoid injury/strain. Also, BIG plus - if you join up, you get FREE gloves!! Woot woot! The other attendees are super supportive AND we take a pic after every class (optional). So fun! GO! Go NOW! read more

IloveKickboxing is one of the best workout that you can do A LOT in an hour. The sweat I get now compare to other classes I attended before is Nothing to this!!! The Staff at Pacifica Ca are friendly and always pushes you to do a great workout. The Cleanliness, the vibe and everyone's smile after a hard workout will be the Best feeling ever! every punch, kicks, squats, pushups, situps and BURPEES ARE Worth IT! after 6 years of taking a break from working out, ilovekickboxing is my fav! Way Too Much Drama at ILKB Pacifica! Save yourself from this sinking business! Check out the attached photos from the owner herself; she posted this stuff to the private Facebook group (entrance is by request only) for the gym members, and hear me out, okay... I've been a member on and off for a few years, but recently, I'm glad to say I'm no longer a part of this place. The drama has become way too overwhelming, and the vibes are just off and honestly messyAF! Pros/Cons The class quality is good, BUT it depends on the instructor you get for that specific class. Pro: Booking & canceling classes via the app they use is convenient, and I liked that it was always easy to navigate. Pro: The gym is gender inclusive, clean, and well-maintained, with basic hygienic amenities available in all restrooms. Now, the Cons Please do yourself a favor and read this before committing to a trial or even a membership: The staff changes constantly: This year alone, nearly ten staff members have either left, quit (with or without notice), or been fired abruptly. When a new hire starts, you have to endure their rocky adjustment period and hope they improve--but many don't. Cheating Scandal: A cheating scandal involving the owners, Chi and Elaine, rocked the studio and basically destroyed trust for the members here. The gossip spread like wildfire, but the owners never addressed or made a statement about it. Instead, they let things fester. To my very last day you still had people just out right talking about it between classes because literally everyone found out. Messy Management: When a staff member was let go, things got even messier--see the attached post for details. The comment section for that statement made by that manager was all over the place. And now, in the second week of December 2024, three more team members, including the manager, have announced their simultaneous departure. Shady Practices Despite rumors that the studio will close before the end of 2025, they still continue to sell the one-year memberships. This feels incredibly shady and dishonest. Try this place at your own risk. From what I've experienced as of my last time joining and now exit, this studio is spiraling downward. Save your money and find a better option! ILKB Pacifica is amazing! I purchased a trial membership on Groupon and I eventually moved to the monthly paid membership. It is a little pricey, but I think it totally worth it! You get a nutritional meal plan with the membership and the instructors are very encouraging and is willing to work with you! Shout out to James, the morning instructor and the owners Elaine and Chi. The gym is clean (small to medium in size but enough space to do kickboxing) and the classmates are very nice! The class is very easy to follow and you can do a modified version if you can't keep up, eg modified push up or Russian twist. They also do a warm up and cooldown. Each section I sweat like I took a shower after, but I feel great and lost some weight over 2 months. read more

I'm so happy I found ILKB Pacifica. From the first day I walked in and met Jari until now, this place is definitely a Fitfam. The coaches are amazing and the classes are one of the best workouts you can get in 50 minutes. They make the studio a fun place to keep coming back to. The staff is amazing as they get to know, not just your name, but you and who you are. The attendees are also part of what makes coming back so easy. Everyone is so nice and has a great time no matter what class you take. I also really love how clean they keep the studio. Who likes someone else's sweat in your workout area? I don't and the staff makes sure that the mats, bags, and the whole studio are always in top condition. read more

I come here for several classes, but I love this community. Coaches are friendly and help check you in. There are many classes with convenient hours. It's super easy to find parking in the Fairmont Shopping Center. There are many options for you to choose Package Membership or Monthly Membership. You can also sign up for the membership to take advantage of $150 off for Initial Investment. You will burn lots of calories for each class - an average of 300-500 calories. Classes focus on abs and core strength. There is also a challenging program. If you drop 15-20 lbs or 7% of fat (*not sure 100% about the number, but you can check with the receptionist to get more information), you will get a refund for this challenge. read more

It's been over a year now and I'm still recovering from a serious knee injury that resulted in surgery due to ILKBs disregard for safety by not securing their mats properly during the pandemic when they moved their " facilities" outside ( sloped parking lot). I was mistreated after the fact and even texted by Sonya saying that I was faking my injury. The disrespect and aggression towards me was due to their own cowardice in not owning up to their mistake. Fake caring for their members to make money. The franchise head even stated that what they did was awful and offered me months free to make up for it. Anyone who knows me knows that I. Do. Not. Exercise. But in January 2023, I figured it was probably time to find an activity that I enjoyed. Came across ILKB offering 5 trials classes for $40 and it was an immediate no brainer. Five months later of 4-6 classes a week, I can safely say I am hooked and kickboxing has now become the routine. All the instructors are great and I love that depending on the instructor, I'll get a different intensity level. I also love that I've become part of a community and how we celebrate all the little wins and birthdays together. At ILKB, we workout together, groan and complain together, eat together, and do those damn burpees together. read more

Let me begin with I did enjoyed the actual fitness classes during my trial; the workouts were fun, and the coaches did a good job in class. But honestly, my experience was overshadowed by the head staff's lack of attentiveness, which is why I decided NOT to sign up. Right after my first class finished, the coach was already trying to sell me on membership, even though I told them I wanted to finish my trial first. I was then told that waiting would mean a higher registration fee, from $47 on the first day to almost $200 (not including the membership itself), which felt a little unfair as I wanted to see how the rest of my trial went. I accepted it. I also asked about a healthcare worker discount, and was told it's only available with manager or owner approval on sign up. On a weekend, I was able to schedule a Saturday class and had the chance to meet the owner, Elaine, and asked her a few questions about membership prices and the gym. It felt off-putting that with her being the owner she didn't seem to know the prices and was stumbling on numbers and then just referred me to speak with her manager, Sonia. After my final class I had the chance to chat to Sonia, she then said they don't offer healthcare discounts, and prices are the same for everyone. During my chat with her I honestly felt rushed and brushed off. I stepped to the side telling her I wanted to think about the prices. Both the owner and manager showed to be more interested in chatting with the regulars and taking photos than giving new people the time of day. After the manager finished with me, Sonia went over to a member (Mag, I think was the name) and greeted them with a hug and big smile. Crazy that a potential new member can't get even a fraction of that kind of friendliness! I would like to add that upon getting to chat with a few members in between classes I found out two big things. First was that this place does indeed give discounts to healthcare workers, public servant workers and teachers - even without showing credentials for confirmation at time of sign up. The second is that a big reason this place appears to have so many positive reviews is because they do a members only bingo card game once a year or so, and one of the boxes they need to check off is to leave a review on Google/Yelp/FB where they are "encouraged to leave positive reviews". This to me is more like an unofficial way to rack up five-star reviews and explains why their rating is so high. I enjoyed the challenging classes, the gym itself is visually nice and kept pretty clean, and the coaches clean up the training area after every class. However, the head staff seem more focused on their own cliques and group photos than trying to be attentive to new potential members. If they keep up with that attitude, more people will feel overlooked just as I felt. read more

Same time last year when I finally decided to give this a try, not expecting much as I have tried boxing before and know that after a couple of weeks will probably get bored as I usually do with all other workout I have tried before. I really just want to get back on track working out and this is the nearest studio around our place. But dang! !!!I I have never sweat as much in an hour of workout here than my previous workouts ( HIiT, running, barre3, Pilates, yoga, boxing, cycling name it I probably tried it!) I love it so much that I signed up on my first day of trial!!! What's not to love with this place? The studio is spacious, well lit, clean. The instructors are amazing human beings - they have a balance of pushing you to the edge of your capability at the same time fun to be with. There's a sense of positive energy and belongingness every time you walk inside - as I always say a great studio takes after it's great owners - Chi and Elaine are just wonderful, positive energetic couple! Review Update: I have been a member here for about 16 months now and I haven't stopped coming. Every instructor is different. They care and want to see you improve. Great management - the owners (Chi and Elaine) are nice and amazing. The studio always smells good and clean. The ladies' room comes with little perks (dry shampoo, lotion, hair tie to name a few). If I can give an additional star, I would. My last review was back in 2020 to which I stated that I have been able to stick to something for 8 months. Lo and behold, here I am 2.5 years later. Time really does fly when you are having fun. As someone who has been here for a while now, the reason why I continue to come is because the instructors are still very friendly. They continue to hold you accountable even when you are unable to make it to the studio. Something new they added are the online instructions so that you can work out from home (or if you are on vacation). Now there really is no excuse! Since sadly having to leave my previous boxing gym, I've been pretty hesitant and skeptical to sign up for another one cause it was so damn good...Skeptical enough for me to get my own heavy bag at home and leave all gym memberships behind. Well, I needed a kick in the ass and decided to check out ILKB because their ads kept showing up on my fb account. I'm really glad I did. Even though it's a hop and a skip away from home, I enjoyed my experience so far with the staff and the initial workout. I was primarily communicated with via text which I actually preferred. They sent out a reminder prior to my first workout with detailed instructions. We were set up for a 1945 class with other first timers. I felt that the first class was very informative and they got you sweating almost immediately. Both instructors, Sonya and Andrea, walked around making sure your form was intact. We covered everything from warm ups to punches to kicks to partner work to stretches...everything you needed to set you up for the next one. Things to note: -The gym is equipped with a locker room but no showers. -Take off your shoes! Definitely had to get used to this one but I was thrilled to see them cleaning the mat in between classes. -Free gloves prior to your first class. Yes, you can use your own. I made the mistake of not wrapping up. I'd recommend it even if it is the first class. -No speed bag but this is just a personal preference. -Maybe a round of jump roping for footwork?...but this is another personal preference! -Good music. Great screens to monitor progress if you take part in the heart monitor which is available for purchase. -Membership discount if you're a nurse. Woot woot! -No Sundays...although they mentioned a possibility of opening up some classes in the future. No pressure to sign up at the end of class but better discounts if you intend on doing so. Loving our new gym home. Positive vibes all around. If I were to say one very minor flaw is it is a little tough to come alone to work out because there are partner drills toward the end of each class. It's not a bad thing, but something to consider before joining the gym if you're one to workout alone. Of course they always find someone to partner you up with, but sometimes that can be difficult with understanding how each person operates with their punches. This is fine for us however because we always come together. I like how the classes are put together...plenty of building the heart rate up, stretching, punching and of course kicking. A true all in one workout in about 1 hour. I love that you are told what to do and they keep you motivated. I also appreciate that I'm getting worked on in just about every part of my body. No two classes are the same and it feels like each time somewhere else hurts lol (this is good.) I actually went home with a couple bruises on my leg and soreness in places that I've never felt before. I'm actually getting ready to go to my next class so see you around if you join! read more

I've done kickboxing before at the San Mateo location, and a few months ago, I discovered the Pacifica location, which is a lot closer to my home. I gave it a a visit and discovered that they had a 6 week challenge money back guaranteed if you succeed, all that fun stuff. It sounded interesting and I was looking to lose some additional weight in my fitness journey. Figured I would do something a little different this time. In doing the 6 week challenge, I lost 17lbs and 7.2% body fat. Obviously a lot of the work was done at home and on my own, but I absolutely love the instructors and the energy that everyone at the studio brings, whether you're a first time newbie or a seasoned kickboxer. The owners and the manager are always there to welcome you with a smile and open arms, and they're so accommodating which really helped me out. Their marketing team will contact you incessently about joining their "free" six week course, refuse to do an over the phone consultation/info session, and make you schedule something in person. You will only find out about the required $500 deposit and how you only get it back if you lose 25 lbs or 6% body fat once you've gotten there. The classes themselves could be great, but I wouldn't know because I refuse to give my money to places that intentionally deceive/omit important info from their clients. read more
