I highly recommend Club Pilates Greenbrea. The most amazing full body workout imaginable. The entire team of instructors are awesome instructors. Samatha, the manager, and front office staff are outstanding. Great customer service; supportive and welcoming and an extremely clean studio. I've been member since the studio opened and absolutely love going to the studio. It's my happy hour. It's great to be part of a community of like-minded folks who prioritize their health. Can't think of a better place to spend an hour than at Club Pilates Greenbrea. Love love love it.

Love Story Yoga - A Ganesha welcome

Bridget welcomed them, too. Happy you're here. Glad you made it. Better with you here. Immediately, I liked that. Come as you are. All of us. ~ The Guide: Bridget Lavin * Love Flows Vinyasa If she led us somewhere that didn't feel good, Bridget said, listen to ourselves. Our breath. Our practice. Time for us. Seated cross-legged, we swept our arms overhead and back down. Snow angels. Without the snow. Then standing. Hands at heart. Sankalpa. What did we need? For me, Be here. Right now. Nothing new. Still needed. We moved. Made shapes. Breathed into them. Fluttered our lips in Downward Dog. Then Lion's Breath. Bridget kept bringing us back to what is. The "isness" of right now. After Sun B, Child's Pose. Through the window, a little boy called out: "Close your eyes and count to ten!" I smiled. And played along. Standing balances. Deep stretches. Before Savasana, Bridget thanked the teachers who passed this practice along, helping us move through the world with more ease. "What a gift." Truly. ~ The Story Behind the Guide: After class, I thanked Bridget for such a connecting, self-loving practice. She found yoga at thirteen, practicing with her mother. Her parents encouraged her to follow what she loved. So she did. Years later, the rest of us got to practice inside that decision. ~ The Space & Place: Upstairs, above a courtyard of shops. Ganesha welcomes you in. Wood floors. Bright reception. A little seating. A little retail. "dear Yoga" invites love letters. A spacious yoga room. White walls. Exposed beams. Open windows. ~ The Field Note: "What is" can teach us, if we leave a window open. ~ The Sum-Up: Bridget invited us to welcome the sounds around us. Then thanked the teachers who passed the practice along. That evening, my teacher was outside the window playing hide-and-seek.

Teacher Lauren Cohen is awesome - grounded, well balanced sequences, supportive and kind. There's lots of parking which makes in and out easy and stress free. The not-so-good: limited number of classes offered and teachers can be hit or miss. Estee Fletter was amazing and has sadly left the studio. A few vanilla flavored teachers (especially late afternoon) seem to just be going through the motions and seem only willing to engage with younger students (or male students...) Not as many offering as some of the other studios in Marin: one huge room that sometimes barely has 10-12 students and an outdoor deck that would be lovely for classes but sadly is seldom used. The whole space worked so well when it was YogaWorks and the space has so much potential if they'd only cut the large studio into two and offer moonlight or morning classes in the Sun deck. Instead, there's the one big studio that's mostly empty and only affords them to offer one or two classes in the morning and the afternoon. If there were more rooms and more offerings, I'd probably get an unlimited membership; but as it is now, it's just not worth it. In conclusion, it's great for a one off class now and then but doesn't (for me at least) offer a long term home for yoga.

Here's the thing -- yoga used to be a competitive athletic pursuit for me. Losing that version of…read moremyself has been one of the harder, quieter griefs of pregnancy, something I didn't expect to carry. The owner understood that immediately. She didn't just encourage me to keep showing up -- she met me exactly where I was, without making me feel like I needed to be okay with where I was. That's a rare gift. What sets this class apart is how genuinely individualized the instruction is. Every woman in that room had her own set of challenges, and every single one of us was seen and addressed specifically -- given real feedback, targeted exercises, actual solutions. Not generic modifications. Not a one-size-fits-all approach. Real care. The community is something special too. Being surrounded by other pregnant women who get it -- some who've been through it before, who related to my birth story, who showed up week after week -- that sense of being held in a room full of people who understand is worth more than I can put into words. This is 100% worth every penny. If you're pregnant and wondering whether to go -- go. Your body and your heart will thank you. I almost talked myself out of joining -- I already have a big gym membership and honestly wondered how much I could realistically do right now. I'm 6 months pregnant with a 10-month-old at home, and my body has been a whole situation: vein/nerve pain in my knee, hip pain, rib pain, shoulder and deltoid tension from breastfeeding. I was exhausted before I walked in the door. But Ashley's prenatal yoga class changed something for me, and I feel so much better!!!! I an learning a LOT. They have 4 locations and tons of workshops too. I took a class the other day where we literally just laid there and meditated and relaxed with our legs up and I had no idea how much I needed that.

She was truly a guiding light throughout my pregnancy, and I always looked forward to Wednesday nights. Her class gave me so much knowledge, confidence, and reassurance as I prepared to give birth. Elizabeth's evening Gentle Yoga class was also a regular part of my pregnancy and something I thoroughly enjoyed each week. I didn't make it to the daytime classes quite as often, but Ashley was also wonderful whenever I was able to attend. We feel so incredibly blessed to have Metta Mama in our community. It was such a special part of my pregnancy journey, and I'm so grateful for the community, support, and wonderful teachers. I'm looking forward to taking the postpartum classes and continuing to be part of the Metta community as I navigate this next chapter!

This studio was formerly a Bar Method location that closed during the COVID19 pandemic. A couple of…read morethe instructors started their own studio and it is wonderful. The workout is very challenging, but low impact, so you can do it several times a week while saving all your joints! Before I realized the studio had re-opened, I tried out Pure Barre. While the class itself at Pure Barre was ok, there was zero interaction between the instructor and students. At Bear Flag Fitness, the instructors are continually helping with form to maximize your results and keep you safe. They also keep the energy up with their encouragement, and they know the name of every single student. It's definitely more of a "community" here. I have tried a lot of different workouts over the past few decades...and this is the only one I've been able to stick to for over 3 years--partly because of the community, and partly because of the undeniable results! I have never had toned arms or back before doing this workout. I just love it here.

We were both completely dying, but will definitely be back; I've already signed up for a monthly auto-renewal membership. The people, both staff and attendees, were so warm and friendly and chill - and working out in a mask wasn't nearly as uncomfortable as I thought it would be (or maybe I was being challenged *just enough* to not notice the mask). I'm certain I'll be sore tomorrow but my joints, which I've mistreated for years, won't hate me. What more could you ask for!? I'm super excited to try more classes; this is going to be a great, ass-kicking, toning workout to fold into my swimming and Peloton routine, and maybe, just maybe, I'll be able to do a decent push-up set again sometime soon!

This studio has been so impactful for me. After my son was born 4 years ago I'd really let my body…read moreand practice go, and this is exactly what I needed. I've lost nearly 40 lbs, and am back to my pre-child weight. More than that, though, my energy level is back to normal and all the weird aches and joint pains I'd been having are history. :) Your classes and teachers are top-notch. And I say this from experience (and not to toot my horn, but to give you guys credit): I have nearly 20 years of yoga experience and a 200 hr YTT cert of my own, so I'm really clear about my likes and dislikes in a yoga studio. First, I love that you have a 12pm heated vinyasa class daily. That one-hour blast at lunch time is the perfect reset for the rest of my day, and the fact that it's offered every day allows so much freedom to build a schedule that works for me. Other heated studios tend to emphasize Bikram only (not my favorite flavor of yoga), and even the ones that do have heated vinyasa are usually only offered sporadically, and at odd times throughout the week. Your teachers also deserve tremendous praise. Heather delivers that slow, mindful burn. Her depth of practice and study of yoga is palpable, and provides a lovely & self-connecting experience. Ed is really fun and light. His pacing and flows are balanced, classes varied and enjoyable. And Liv's joyful energy brings encouragement and sweetness, even as she invites you into challenge. She's also got a gift for matching music to class pacing, which offers welcome variation from playlists which are almost all house beats (not that I dislike house! I just love Liv's capacity for taking a class through its own "vinyasa" of sorts: starting slow, moving into intensity, then finishing serenely). Thank you so much for having such a great space and crew. I am sadly going to be moving out of the area in the next week or so, but will definitely continue my membership on zoom and crank the space heater when I practice, as no one else can touch what you guys do!!
