NOW Power Yoga is a heated yoga studio with great energy! As I am getting older, I realize I do need to focus on rehabilitating and making sure my body has the tools to maintain strength. Yoga always felt a little too slow for me without being challenging. That is definitely not the case with classes at NOW Power Yoga! The studio itself is a pretty big room that get heated for each class. I especially enjoy that each class is often powered by modern music with a heavy beat. The instructors are super positive and help set the mood. Depending on the class, there are some that will focus on weights versus holding moves. While I highly recommend, I would say for beginners to yoga who are not too familar with the moves may have a hard time following along. Recommend bringing a yoga mat, towel, and water bottle to class because you are guaranteed to sweat! You can also bring a refillable bottle as well since they have water stations. I also appreciate that they have a shower. Because it shares a parking lot with other businesses, I would caution that depending on the time of day parking can get difficult so may want to come early at peak times to ensure you get a spot in time. The same for the class itself! NOW Power Yoga is a worthy visit especially if you are looking for a heated yoga class! read more

I have been to 3 classes so far and really enjoy it. definitely not traditional yoga, but I feel like a million bucks for the rest of the day after attending. my only reason for 4 stars is sometimes the music is such intense house music it puts me on the brink of a panic attack. the hot packed room + the intense house music is very anxiety inducing. so far, I have been able to ride out the house music until something more chill comes on, but I would love if the intense house music went away. read more

This is not the type of yoga that you think of when you go to a yoga studio. This is aerobics yoga and primarily for exercise. Not a practice like a traditional experience, more like a hybrid of body weight workout combined with yoga poses. The way the morning classes are taught you can be subject to injury if you are not careful. read more

I started going to NOW a few years ago but really started attending classes regularly (about 3 days a week) this past year. I absolutely love Susan and the studio. Yoga has become my therapy for my mind and my body. In addition to improving my overall health, I am in the best shape of my life because of NOW. I lost all the baby weight from my two kiddos (now 4 and 2 years old) and I had tried everything to lose the weight and nothing worked until NOW. My flexibility has vastly improved and as well as my strength - which is great for a mom who is always interacting with my crazy kiddos. I absolutely love New Om World and Susan, the owner! This new studio offers a wide variety of classes from TRX to kickboxing to power yoga, it has it all. I have loved every class I have taken here. All of the teachers are very high energy and motivating. Susan's yoga class my favorite. She plays great music and runs a tough class where you really feel like you got a good workout. Susan is so personable and friendly with everyone. I also really enjoyed the TRX classes I have done, also a great workout. The studio is very clean and modern with nice simple decoration. They sell some essential yoga items as well as NOW apparel. The bathrooms are nice and have showers and all of the necessities. Sometimes I wish the showers were a little bit cleaner, but they are usually fine. The prices here are very fair. Students and kids can come to any class for $10 and unlimited classes for $100 a month for 3 months. For adults the per class rate is $18 and I am not sure of the packages but I am sure they are fair. I would absolutely recommend NOW to anyone looking for a great workout. Signed up for a new student monthly special and my first class was with Reed. As soon as I sat down on my mat, I was asked "do you know what you've gotten into?" Confused, I responded "yoga class?". I was then grilled on what I think yoga means, if I'm ready to work hard, I need to work hard, everyone else works hard, can I do inversions, etc. Irritated, I finally responded "I'm Indian and I've been doing yoga for 15 years." He just came off as rude, condescending, and a show off. As an Indian woman who is an experienced yogi I definitely didn't need a white man explaining yoga to me. I knew what yoga was when I was 5, thanks. He could have simply asked me (like every other instructor) how long I've been practicing if he was curious about my level of knowledge. I avoided his classes after that, only going once after bc I realized at that late stage in the day his was the only one left. I didn't get grilled but I still found the class to be annoying with the long-winded chatter. Other than that, the studio is OK. The loud club music is distracting and not conducive to a yoga class. The teachers were fine but they don't adjust the students either. No matter how long you've been practicing there's always room to go a little further. Overall just not a fan. read more

Visited a close friend in Marin and this is one of her regular spots. What a beautiful space And a great class. The music was excellent during our practice and our instructor Kaelin kept a perfect pace and was very fluid and easy to follow. Our class was the perfect combination of strength and restorative poses, the temperature was just warm enough without being stifling. I would be taking classes here on the regular if I lived nearby. I have been going to NOW for 2 years, and it is amazing! I LOVE this studio SO MUCH! Susan Hauser, the owner of the studio, is an incredible yoga teacher and overall a great woman. Her classes are usually crowded even at 6am because she is so friendly, accommodating, and fun. The only exercise class I would ever set an alarm at 5:30am for is Susan's power yoga class. It doesn't feel slow and annoying - she plays great music and gives you a great workout. I always feel stretched and strong after her class. All the other teachers at the studio are amazing too, but Susan's class is very special. At other yoga studios, I often feel like I'm missing something, having a hard time focusing, and can't really get "zen" like everyone else seems to be. This is a totally different type of yoga. Music is blasting, you are encouraged to sing along, you can bring your phone in if you are worried about your sick kid that day, and nobody cares if you walk in late. You are missing out if you don't try this place. They have great intro deals for new clients, as well as for regulars. NOW is not your average too-expensive yoga studio.Even if you have never done yoga, the classes are totally do-able and a great workout. You are constantly doing push-ups and downward dog, but you are also welcomed to modify everything and relax in child's pose during class, as many people do. They also have a really clean bathroom where you can shower after class (you'll be drenched because this yoga is such a good workout) and go straight to work/happy hour after! I like to shower at NOW and then do my morning emails next door at Book Passage (amazing lattes and croissants) before starting my day... such a good routine! read more

Susan Hauser has done an amazing job re-inventing this studio, which was previously Yoga Tree Marin. Susan is one of my favorite power yoga instructors. I love her warmth and authenticity and generosity. She loves what she does, and she conveys that to her students. She plays great music (only downside is that sometimes it can be a bit hard to hear her instructions when the music gets loud.) My favorite class is her 6am Power class. It's a great all-around body workout, with more arm work than other classes I go to, which I really like. Truly a great way to start the day, if you can get yourself motivated to get up at 530am to make it:) All the other instructors are wonderful, as well. Favorites of mine are Kirsty Gaither, Lori Holscher, Stein Skaar, Christian Allaire, and Kathryn Keown. If you haven't given this studio a try, I would highly recommend it. read more

When asked once why I attend this class, I reflected briefly and realized: because it's fun! The studio is very spacious and has a very cool vibe. I signed up for the $30 for 30 days package, but I'll probably go for the monthly unlimited because it's that good! As a longtime yogi, one of the things I've always thought is that it's always too bright in the studios. My favorite thing about NOW is that in the morning classes, Susan keeps the lights off. I am obsessed with NOW! I recently left the city and moved to Marin and tried ALL of the yoga studios in Marin and let's just say they were not awesome. Super slow flows, no music, low energy, zero calories burned. The I found NOW and found my forever home! This is a beautiful studio, with amazing teachers. Becca is so RAD. I also hear Susan is great as well. This is a high intensity almost boot camp style blended with yoga, paired with upbeat music and heat. You will sweat, and push your limits, and burn off that burrito you ate last night! The teachers are clearly passionate about what they do and that makes you want to work even harder. There is also an Inferno Pilates class that is fantastic. I was scared to try it, but Becca was so supportive and helped me get through it and it was worth it. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this studio! I have practiced yoga for over 20 years and have seen the evolution. The transformation - Hatha, Bikram, Power to Bhakti! I was very new to Yoga when I stumbled upon New Om World almost two years ago and instantly loved the place and overall atmosphere. I have been a regular every since. As a total beginner, Susan made me feel very welcome and at ease learning and practicing Yoga while also getting a very good workout. Hands down, the best yoga in Marin. Susan's classes are amazing. I drive from SF to take her weekend Power Flow classes. I even wake up early on weekdays to drive over the bridge for her Hour Power Flow at 6am, before work. Friends think I am nuts. Then I take them to her class and they are automatically hooked. Her fast paced, core strengthening yoga classes are the best. Sweaty and challenging, the class will keep you engaged and motivated with her upbeat playlist. You will feel and notice your body dramatically change from her classes. She is an inspiration! My body is toned and looks amazing from her classes.
