While this doctor certainly knows what he is doing and has a state of the art, clean, office, the front desk help was... not. I completely recommend the doctor but make sure you know what the payment process is before going in. I was referred as an emergency patient. I was scheduled a few days out. I called and asked if they needed my insurance and was told my original dentist office had provided the info. I told them to let me know if they needed anything else. I called the day before and was told they had all info needed... I went in and filled out their new patient forms and was told to leave the insurance info blank because they already had it. I had my procedure done - again I cannot stress that I am completely happy with the doctor, his assistants and the office technology!! But when I left I was given a bill - which I expected- but the insurance was not in network so I had the entire fee, around $2300 to pay at that moment. I normally do not carry a credit card but thankfully I did have mine on me.... It would have been nice to know that my insurance was not accepted. I just feel the lack of communication was a big disappointment. He's great - just make sure before you go of what's covered! read more

This was my first root canal, so I was a bit nervous but soon realized the expertise and competence of Dr. Simons. I felt zero pain. He explained exactly what he was doing, and at the same time, the whole procedure could be watched on a screen overhead. I felt so comfortable in these qualified hands. Omg Dr Simons Is the Best!!! I've had 2 root canals done by him and they were both done perfect, and with zero pain. I'm not kidding when I say the only pain I had was the bobby pin on the back of my head resting on the chair lol. Dr Simons is professional and truly cares about his patients. He called me the night of the surgery to see if I was ok, and then again 5 days later to make sure all the swelling was gone. His surgery center is amazing. Clean, cool, and has an ocean view. I needed a root cancel that was discovered at my dentist office via an x-ray. I was not in pain but it was quite obvious after giving it a second opinion and that I needed to fix this before it became a major issue. The best way for me to explain how great Dr. Simons is would be to start by letting you know that I actually enjoyed getting a root canal. No, really! Two, in fact. Dr. Simons redid an old root canal several years ago and I saw him again for another one last week. First, he is very empathetic and kind and I felt that he truly wanted to help me feel better. Second, the procedures themselves were much quicker than I would have imagined, or maybe I was just so comfortable the time flew by. Third, he plays comedy during the procedure so I felt relaxed and very entertained. I was not nervous at all. Finally, he is completely transparent about what is taking place, describes it well before and during the procedure, and there is even a camera so you can see what is going on if you would like. I have a fear of going to the dentist. Dr Simons has done four root canals for me and I'm so happy I have him as my endodontist. He is so conscientious always offering to do work after hours if I can't take the pain waiting for an appointment which is usually the next day. He has state of the art equipment and is so excellent at what he does that I wasn't even worried about the procedure when I realized I needed a fourth root canal this last week. His whole staff is awesome, last week Sela spent so much extra time trying to get a prescription sent to a pharmacy I've never used because I was out of town. I know how busy she is but she made sure to get the prescription through to a very difficult pharmacy before leaving work that day. Who likes to go to the dentist, especially when you have work other than your 6 months cleaning to be done? Sitting in a dentist chair for 2 - 4 hours is not my idea of a way to have fun. Dr. Simons and his staff makes the necessary time spent with him as comfortable and pleasant as possible. He is willing to answer all your questions about the procedures he is doing - no question is considered stupid - and he revels in explaining something to a patient that wants to learn. He could easily have another career as a teacher. He asks several times while working on you: "Are you okay?" "Do you need a break?" Every time after you've had work done, he calls in the evening to see how you're doing and he gives you his cell phone number if you need to reach him after hours when the office is closed. He has a sense of humor and an authentic caring attitude. Even if he weren't a dentist, he is a kind, thoughtful human being and I highly recommend him and his services. read more
