Not a joke. Very efficient service. Two full menus - dim sum/breakfast, lunch, & banquet menu. All the food is slamming & they know it. Reasonable prices. Good selection of dim sum items & congees. Clean inside. A very happy place. If I lived closer, I would be a regular. There is sadly nothing in Brooklyn just like this.

Alright Chinese food in a very crowded environment. Health rating is a B. The pan fried noodle is delicious. The full duck was smaller than I thought for the price. Spent around 25 bucks per person and we were all very full. You can call ahead of time to make a reservation. They are very crowded in rush hour.

If this review was written a decade ago, there's no doubt Wu's would have been an easy 5 star establishment. Wing Shoon (#1) was upstaged by the new (wonton) king of Chinatown, the great hope of Canto up and comers, which Wu's has banked their reputation on even to this day. They managed to outlast many Canto establishments (#2) all while becoming the de facto standard of which all others would want to emulate. However, a recent visit has me wondering otherwise. My large group and I feasted and ordered a number of dishes (#3), so much so that we had to ask them to hold back because we ran out of space. They were still as busy as ever, but with one key notable difference: the service was very bad. By bad, I mean that things were not handled properly. Our reservation featured a smaller table then than what was ideal for our group. They were rushed, the slamming of their dishes down was off putting and difficult to summon during key moments of the night. While they did sing happy birthday for our birthday person, they still managed to give us grief over our less than 15% tip. Eventually we gave 18% but not without a lot of commotion. They weren't thrilled with our preference to use credit card and asked us to actually go out and get cash. Since the amount was close to four figures, we ended up having to go to a nearby ATM and pay in cash. ___________ (#1) https://www.yelp.com/biz/wing-shoon-new-york (#2) Boooo, pandemic. (#3) From their set family style menu: peking duck, sauteed shrimp + scallops with fried tofu, lamb chops in black pepper sauce, wonton soup, mixed dungeness crabs (salt and pepper + salty egg yolk), crispy chicken, group filet, sauteed snow pea shoots, "golden" fried rice", and yee mein with Chinese mushroom. We also added mussels and sauteed shrimp + egg.

Classic cantonese dishes, very cramped inside but fast service. as always the 炸兩 (fried dough with rice noodle on the outside) was delish and my fav, not too expensive and although you may have to wait, it's very worth it. Note that they only take card if the meal is above $30.

A GREAT spot for groups and birthdays!!! They have a ton of different package options for large groups - we ordered the first option for groups and they allowed us to switch out one or two of the items without any fuss. My favorite - you cannot miss this - was the Crispy Chicken. The food was between a 4 and a 5 to me. I highly recommend the Walnut Shrimp and the Fish Soup. Some of the other offerings in the package didn't stand out as much.

We stopped in because most members of our group wanted the Peking Duck. It was a really good restaurant with good service. Most of the table had the Duck. My girlfriend believed it was good. I had the sesame chicken with broccoli, it was good. In addition we had a seafood stew, black pepper pork chop. We shared everything so the portions were rather large.

Your classic Cantonese restaurant a little outside of the busy Chinatown area. Food was decent with good meat portions What I did not appreciate was getting scammed by the waiter even when we're speaking their native language in Cantonese. We just asked for a lb of cha siu which he said was oh it's $10-$11 and when we got it it did seem ALOT. Should've actually specify for half a lb or even less. But when the check came it was $19 which was close to 2lbs for the 2 of us... What we did enjoy was the roast duck noodle soup (haw fun) and for the first time there was not only a good portion of duck but duck was also meaty!!

Ambiance is nothing to write home about. Typical NYC Chinese place. But it's clean and quite spacious and tables can accommodate 10+ groups. What really shines here is the freshness of their ingredients and the service. We got the king crab. Yeah, it's expensive but I'm not sure I've had better king crab anywhere. They serve it three ways. Steamed with ginger, garlic and scallion, fried salt and pepper style, and fried rice. All three dishes were fantastic. What I loved the most was that they didn't over season the food so what really shined was the freshness of the ingredients. Wonton soup was excellent as the quality of the wontons was top notch. Only disappointment wand the jelly fish and mixed bbq. Honestly next time I would just order the suckling pig as that was the best item on the dish. Skin was so crispy and delicious. Beside the food the service really stood out. They were attentive, friendly, and accommodated several birthdays around the dining room by bringing out and servicing the cake. Finally this place is BYOB! So bring your best wines and celebrate a fantastic meal.

Good place for big groups. Large tables, lazy susan's, big menu and large portion sizes made for sharing. I recommend calling ahead to make a reservation, especially during peak meal times. They do take card for payment. The prices are reasonable and food is good. Menu has a variety of proteins, so it was good for our friends who don't eat pork. We ordered: Bokchoy- beautiful, fresh, and delicious. My favorite dish Beef chow fun - lacks flavor, not that much beef Beef with scallion - yummy and beef was tender. The red onion and scallion add a lot of extra punchy flavor. Roasted duck - was good! Not the best I've had, but can't complain. Garlic crispy chicken - also good! Not as good as Uncle Lou, but was very solid. Rice costs extra ($1.75 per bowl). The service is good! It was a bit rushed, but they were attentive to getting more tea and water. We did get a free mango pudding dessert at the end which was light and delicious!

Wu's Wonton King is a NYC classic. One of the best BYOs in the city. The food is always good. Great spot for large groups and celebrations.

Casual Cantonese style restaurant with a large menu. We went before 11am and the main menu wasn't avcailable yet. For breakfast time they had the BBQ dishes, dim sum and wonton only. The dim sum was very good, we got shu mai, soup dumplings, chicken feet and pork feet, all very good. We also got the wonton soup which also taste very good. They definitely do not skimp on the filling and the wonton are stuffed with big pieces of shrimp and pork and very well-seasoned. The Cantonese bbq including chicken, roast pork and duck are also very good. The roast pork skin is wonderfully crispy. I came with my picky parents and they liked all the dishes. Service is quick and attentive. Our waitress spoke English pretty well and recommended some dishes that we liked. Prices are very reasonable for the amount and quality of food.

    11. Crispy Spring Rolls
    Monica D.

My friend chose this place for dinner before we had an event by the water, about a 10 to 15 minute walk. For ambiance, don't expect anything more than your local Chinese takeout vibes but with a few more tables. The menu however is not what you usually find. My friends and I opted for an order of spring rolls, beef pan fried noodles and walnut shrimp. It was just the perfect amount for three people eating a decent portion. Everything was fantastic. Would definitely come back again.

Decent spot near the train station. We were seated fast and immediately given tea. The duck was a standout - delicious flavor and good amount of meet. The chicken and broccoli was also very good. The pan fried noodles had a great texture but lacked flavor for me personally. The environment is lively and casual. They'll take your order quickly but if you need something during your meal, you'll need to track someone down as the staff is moving around rapidly. They accept card but of course, cash is preferred. Huge portions too, so it's all great for sharing!

We went straight for their signature deep fried garlic chicken and decided to share the Peking duck--and both dishes were beautifully presented and packed with incredible flavor. The chicken, in particular, was crispy, aromatic, and absolutely delicious, though it's worth noting you'll want to be a bit careful as there are quite a few small bones throughout. The Peking duck was equally impressive, cooked perfectly with rich, satisfying taste in every bite. You can really tell the kitchen puts care into both quality and presentation. Uncle Lou is a Cantonese restaurant that also serve Dim Sum dishes. The business name reference Chinese culture of calling adults "uncle" (suk1 suk1, 叔叔) or "auntie" (aa3 ji4, 阿姨) is a polite, common way to show respect, build connection, and bridge generational gaps. It treats non-relatives like family, making strangers feel younger and fostering closeness. The atmospheric decor contains very beautiful Chinese lanterns suspended from the ceiling throughout the restaurant. I believe it is decorated for Lunar New Year throughout the entire year. No comment for facility as I did not utilize. Customer service is average attentive and the staff is fluent in both English and Cantonese. I did not have to wait long to be served nor request the bill, and neither attain change. I often dine alone as a single woman and was regarded with respect for patronizing. It is always good to hear Cantonese spoken as it is mellifluous... at long last to continue this vernacular of Chinese language. I ordered in a mixture of both English and Cantonese. I was promptly seated by the maître d' promptly for a table. Melamine/plastic chopsticks in neon green and ceramic / porcelain china including ceramic Chinese soup spoon are distributed to customers while dine-in. A traditional teapot is also distributed during the duration of meal like large banquet hall Dim Sum restaurants. The large round tables contain a rotating lazy susan in traditional Chinese restaurant standard. Wow. No disposable wooden chopsticks and no disposable bowls for utensils are distributed at Uncle Lou. Price is slightly high, but worth the food quality and customer service. Uncle Lou did surely feed me! Shrimp Wonton noodle soup, Ho fun (flat rice noodles), shrimp based broth, $14.95 The bowl is gargantuan and the six (6) dumplings are good size portion served in ceramic / porcelain china. There are Chinese vegetable of one strand choi sam (choy sum) and scallions. The shrimp Wonton dumplings are a good size and good consistency. The soup broth is solid for flavor and consistency. It was served piping hot as steam was visibly emitting. The soup broth was slightly heavy. The flat rice noodles were sufficient for quantity. Noodle soup is Chinese comfort food and warms the heart. It sustained my hunger pangs throughout the day. Upon arrival the wait staff prominently announce to inform customers of 9% discount for cash payment and a 3% additional surcharge or fees for any credit/debit card payment for situational awareness. I was informant and made fully aware twice: upon entry when seated and upon receiving the bill. Uncle Lou complies with "Prohibition of Cashless Establishments, as of March 21, 2026, all retail and food establishments in New York State, including New York City, must accept in-person cash payments, banning fully cashless stores." (source: Department of Consumer Affairs (DCA), Local Law 34 of 2020). Oh! For small amounts of purchases, my default payment method is cash. Yes, cash is still widely accepted in the 21st century. Nota Bene: Have cash on hand to avoid annoying surcharge or fees. The bill is calculated and manually handwritten the old school way still a timeless classic. I paid my bill in cash including gratuity. No comment for Apple Pay or Google Wallet (formerly Android Pay/Google Pay) either acceptance or price differential vs. cash.

The kind of place where the tables are big and the food comes out steaming hot and unpretentious. Let's start with what they're named after: the congee. The pan fried tofu worked for the vegans at the table but even the non vegans kept reaching for it. I was surprised to see pickled garlic in my sweet and sour pork. It was so nostalgic, the way my grandmother would have made it. The lamb chops were perfectly tender without being too gamey. On special occasions, we get the stir fry lobster. It's the kind of dish you'd expect at a Chinese wedding banquet. Celebratory, messy in the best way. You could build a whole feast here just from banquet classics.
