Alright....... I have been losing sleep because of an incident which occured to me here about 6 months ago. I first want to start out by saying that the food at worth family restaurant is top knotch. So this review is not about food. Just writing this makes my belly fill with anxiety and my heart starts to beat really fast. Anyway, I went there myself for a bit to eat. And one of the waitstaff this older man who looked kinda like doc from back to the future came up to me. His eyes were wide open like he was staring through my soul and his hair was horribly unkempt and his breath smelled like stale coffee. I got really nervous sometimes when I am around people too long I begin to pass gas out of nervousness. Anyone this guy goes and snatches my Irish skillet. I politely tell him that I was still eating the skillet and he turns around and tells me "yeah crazy eyes we are a small restaurant, so you need to eat fast and gtfo!" I fought very hard to fight back the tears. I began to hyper ventilate and sweat profusely and then it happend..... my body let go itself and I made a big scream and ran out crying. I am sensitive person. I just started to come out of my shell and see people yet this one incident set me far back. I have been in therapy I still remember this guy's eyes and rude attitude. So if you are going to this restaurant go for food. Not this crazy haired psychotic knome. I've been wanting to try this place for a while, considering the great reviews and through word of mouth. We tried going to a couple places before this that were packed because of Mothers Day. However, we were able to get one of the last seats here. The experience did not start on a positive note. I immediately noticed the silverware that was given to us was not cleaned properly, as the spoon, fork and knife all had food and grime visible on it. GROSS and unacceptable to say the least. I brought it to the attention of our waitress and she was able to bring us both another set. She also notified us that they have a new dishwashing employee. I personally wanted to leave right then and there, since it's harder to tell if mugs full of coffee and plates topped with food would also be dirty. However, we ultimately decided to stay. The rest of our experience would've been great had I not been thinking about the possibility of somebody else's food scraps for the rest of the meal. The country fried steak was amazing and my girlfriend's skillet was also great, and I'm not even a skillet person! Our waitress was also great, she made her rounds to the tables with coffee and asked if anyone needed anything. Had the food not been wonderful I would've rated it lower, and had the silverware been cleaned I would rate this place higher. Ultimately, I WISH I could say I'm excited to go back, but it was not really a good first impression. read more

Unassuming hidden gem! I must have passed this location a dozen times before knowing it was there but I am absolutely glad I finally did! This is the quintessential neighborhood diner with friendly service, hot coffee, great prices and delicious food! If you don't know what to order the waitresses are fantastic, cheerful and will give you honest recommendations to lead you in the right direction. Tips - * Whenever I have gone in it has been "seat yourself" so no need to wait around for a hostess. Just choose your table, have a seat and one of the waitresses will be right with you! * They are CASH ONLY. I anticipate this keeps the prices down but be aware if you don't normally carry cash. There is an ATM on site but then you're subject to the ATM fees. Not a big deal, just be aware. * If you work in the area their breakfast special is inexpensive, good portions and can be taken out for a quick and easy breakfast! * If you order the open face sandwich get extra gravy. Worth snack shop is an old school diner in the truest sense.  Complete with an 8 stool lunch counter booths and 4 tables.   The coffee was good, the cups were of the miscellaneous home style.  Mismatched to the end.  The sugar was the old school container, and the crew meet, while prepackaged was kept cold and brought out to the table.  Phor phish phans it was also hood creamer.  The staff was welcoming, and friendly and most of the people seemed to be regulars.   The biscuits and gravy are made from scratch per the menu.  Sadly they were not really flavorful.  the biscuits were good but the gravy was bland. I cannot get enough of this place. Good old fashion greasy spoon where the food is the best, and I mean that with loving kindness. A place where you can sit at the counter and get a fresh cup of coffee in a unconventional mug, some eggs over easy with real hash browns and a side of country ham. The place is clean and the staff is extremely nice and polite. A real down to earth country style diner where everything is cooked to order and served hot. My favorite place to go for breakfast! Another mom and pop joint. A lot cleaner than Michael's which is down the street. My son and I split the 2x2x2 for $4.70! What a steal!!! 2 eggs, 2 sausages (or bacon) and 2 pancakes (or French toast). We ordered an order of bacon for 3.10, which was 4 slices. I took the eggs and two pieces of bacon and my son ate the pancakessausage and bacon as well. The food was hot and cooked to perfection. Our waitress was great. The customers seem to be regulars. I love this eatery. I tend to gravitate to the three egg, toast, and hash brown special for $3.75 and it is delicious. The eggs and hash browns are always cooked to perfection and I have had two orders on occasion. I love breakfast and I love this breakfast. Sometimes I have a steak with it and it is superb too. Have been going to the Worth Snack Shop for about fifteen years. It is basically a greasy spoon that has both tables and counter seating. The only thing bad with the counter seats is that your are right on top of the action, waitresses, cashier, and dish washing. Prices are very cheap and the food plenty. Food can be hit or miss, as also with the waitresses. They seem to prefer talking to the regular customers than taking care of others. Parking is easy for the place, back, front, and side of building. The best bet as far as I'm concerned are the omelets. read more

Worth Restaurant is one of those places that reminds you of a long ago era. The food is good, inexpensive and the atmospher almost makes you feel like you are eating in your own kitchen. We used to come here at least once or twice a month when we lived in the area, but now only get to visit when we come to town. I usually have the mexican omelette, and while it looks like a hodge podge of ingredients, it is extremely tasty.
