A few folks outside some inside. This made ordering quick and easy, and the food was prepared quickly; a benefit for us, perhaps not for the business. The place is still attractive and clean, with plenty of tables outside and inside. I did not that, as my last visit, there is no shade really provided for the outside seating, save ONE small umbrella. Ugh - not sure what the issue is, and being it was a sunny day, we opted to sit inside as much as the patio called to us. The inside is nice, too, though, and there is easy access to the soda fountain machine and condiments. There are still self-ordering kiosks, large digital menus, and of course, you can also order through the app (even if standing inside!) or at the counter. We ordered a bit of each - side, main, and dessert! There was a portabella "'Shroom" burger (with a crisp-fried portobello mushroom filled with melted muenster and cheddar cheeses, topped with lettuce, tomato, and ShackSauce on a toasted potato bun), cheese fries, a mac 'n' cheese, chicken bites, and a Key lime shake, a special offering! Damn the calories, full taste ahead! The food was indeed prepared quickly and served hot. The Shroom burger was my favorite last time, and for taste and texture this time was also delicious and good. The cheeses inside were melty-gooey, and the mushroom crispy. It was, though, much smaller than I remember - it fit within my hand! A con, against the price, for what is a nice option for veggies or anyone wanting a change in their burger. The chicken bites were smaller than expected in size, more like nuggets, but tasty. The mac 'n' cheese was also tasty, but also a bit small for the price. The fries are always good, and in this case, you need to dig to the bottom early on to scrape some of the melted cheese that dripped down back onto the fries. Very yummy. But the best part was the Key lime shake, a flavor I just love (cheesecake is my favorite iteration of this flavor) but this milkshake satisfied me greatly. A little pricier than their everyday shakes, but how often so you find a unique flavor like this! A win! Overall, a solid 4-stars for food flavor and quality, and also for ambience and environment. Price wise, it was about $40 for two of us, so not a great bargain, but given the economy today I have the same financial shock at other places as well. Still, a nice treat and we left happy.

They also do catering for birthdays with sliders and different options, which is a nice touch for families. The space itself is versatile. There's a great bar area with TVs if you want to catch a game, but also plenty of seating for more intimate meals or larger groups. It's very family-friendly without feeling like a kid-only zone. The staff was attentive throughout our visit, which made the experience even better. Parking is a breeze since it's right on the outside of the mall. Gotts charges closer to the fancy end -- easily triple the price of In-N-Out -- but the burger itself lands right around the middle. The patty quality feels about the same. In-N-Out still wins on the flame-broiled flavor. Shake Shack wins on the buttery bun and better toppings. And Gotts? Somehow slower than both. Not terrible. What arrived was such a major departure from the expected I had nowhere else to air the case, so now here we are. What arrived at the table was essentially a kind of thickened clam broth. Not flour & water library paste thick. but with the right pasta would have been an ersatz linguine alle vongole (less actual clams). Or adding potatoes would make it the soup of the day which I've been noticing more often on menus is termed "potato chowder". (about this last I'd like to take issue: how can a thickened potato soup rightly be called a chowder given that in traditional chowder recipes the essential ingredient is in fact potatoes (no? ask google). I figure to a marketing kind of mind calling this bland goo a chowder lends a certain cachet that mere "soup" lacks, for whatever that'$ worth) Where was I? oh yeah, i should add that neither potatoes nor pasta were in this clam soup, but to avoid a claim that the order didn't meet the "clam" description, it did include clams. However the clams were all in shell, half-open and floating or submerged in the broth. Not what I expected and definitely messy to fish them out. And of course, it's a chowder so where were the potatoes? But the clams were fresh and with enough sourdough to add the necessary carb load I decided on this cold wet night not to make an issue of this. So if you didn't complain, well you must have had no complaint... except I did. The bowl of clam chowder I was served looked nothing like the customer photo posted somewhere on your yelp page. I'll just stay with salads.

A wonderful Lioco Pinot Noir complimented my meal nicely. The Village in Corte Madera features top retailers to include Apple, Verizon, Williams Sonoma, Anthropology, Johnny Was, to name a few. The dogs are $7/ combo $10.25. They offer 4 different kinds of sausage from $8.25/ combo $12.75. They even have a vegan sausage option. The dogs are stadium length. Combos include a bag of chips and a canned drink. I've had no issues with the staff, all great encounters. Stang's has a gated outdoor dining area. Since the stand is minimally staffed, they may not have the time to clean the dining area. Understandably so. Right next to Stang's patio, there are shopping center community tables. Those tables are maintained by the shopping center cleaning crew. Plus there are trash and recycling bins close by making it easier for folks to pick up after themselves.

We had to ask for a wet rag just to clean our own table, which isn't something guests should have to do. To make matters worse, four of the items we ordered were unavailable. I understand that things can run out during busy times, but this many missing items felt excessive. By the end of the night, our bill came out to $451, which made the experience even more frustrating. For a tab that high, you would expect at least some level of customer service recovery--whether that's comping an item, offering a dessert, or even just a sincere apology. None of that happened. It felt like our time and business didn't matter, which is disappointing because Cheesecake Factory is usually a go-to spot for our group. This visit definitely missed the mark.
