    Nasty ice skate rental shoes
    X P.

I came back here to relive memories because I remembered ice skating was fun when I was in middle school. I came back to this same place I went to on a school trip long time ago, and it was a horrible experience. Dirty: Smells nasty here like musty sour sweat and ammonia everywhere. There is puddles of water everywhere on the floor, super packed with so much kids running around and garbage everywhere. Noisy and dirty seat area. Skate rentals are ripped , Moldy, and so gross. Dangerous: The ice skating rink is full of try hard grown adults dashing super fast and spinning when there are literally ton of kids falling around the rink next to them non stop and beginners everywhere. I would be terrified to see an adult rush into a kid by accident with the metal skates full speed. Unpleasant experience- paid almost 35 dollars for two people and didn't even stay 30 mins here because it felt so uncomfortable and yucky. Much rather spend less money and have fun at the golf center 5 min walk away or go to the queens zoo nearby.

Ice skating time! $7 entry if you have your own shoes/skates! Set up an account online and register before you go! Mask is required and they check your vaccine card. Not too crowded in the morning so come early! They open at 10:30am.

Rink usage cut in half. Kids sitting around or skating freely with bare no instruction.

This is review about the holiday school sessions. TLDR; If you know how to skate even a little bit, just take your kids skating yourself. Your kids will learn faster and you will save hundreds of dollars. We had previously signed up our daughter for the holiday school session before COVID and we were fairly pleased with it. So, when we got notification about the sessions being held during the winter break (February 2022), we signed up both our daughter and our son for 3 sessions. ($75 for 2 kids for 3 days = $450!!!) The kids were in different groups but they weren't being cared for as well as we have experience previously. If the teacher saw some kids who are not keeping up well, instead of instructing them, encouraging them or re-assigning them to a lower level group quickly, they just looked and acted frustrated. They tried to help a bit in the beginning and have them switch groups but eventually started ignoring them. Eventually, most kids were just skating on their own. Only people who were helpful were younger assistants (part-time student employees?). They were very friendly and great with the kids. The lesson itself was very lacking. Just going back and forth from one end to another. A lot of kids just going about skating on their own. I mean, I paid $75 for the session. The kids could have just skated on their own for $13 ($7 weekday admission + $6 rental) during the public skating session. I'm kicking myself since, for the same amount of money, I could have bought my kids their own skates and taken both of them skating myself more than 10 times. Then, at 10:30, they block off half of the rink to have one half be opened for public session. Now, all the kids are crowded into the other half of the rink, where the teacher are no longer leading the same group. It's like mixture of free skating, some teachers teaching some random group of kids and another group of teacher just chatting. [See attached picture and video.] I didn't pay $150 for both of my kids to have the rink usage be cut in half to make room for people paying $7 to skate. For reference, this did not happen in our session prior to COVID. The full rink was used for the entire session, the teacher were with their groups the entire time and were very attentive to their groups. I contacted them about these issues and they responded the first time. But, when I contacted them few more times after observing very little changes, they simply ghosted me. Thank you World Ice for taking my money, taking me for a ride then dumping me and my kids on the side of the road.

I like it here. They have a lot of sports teams and classes thru the day and time slots where the public can come and skate. For 6 of us it cost close to $100 with rental skates and it was a weekend. I supposed that's not bad but it would be a lot cheaper if you have your own skates. You're not allowed to take photos or videos on the ice which I suppose is for safety and I understand that but it also kind of stinks if you want to show your skills. Plenty of people working there that are good on the ice and helpful if you fall. My son fell and hit his head on the ice and they were there right away to his aid to bring him off the ice and get him an ice pack and check for signs of concussion. I look forward to coming back here.

My friend was in town and told me about a DJ playing at a roller skating rink, and suddenly I was transported back to the era when roller rinks ruled the City. So we went, both of us pretending we were twenty years younger. When I got off the train in Bushwick, the neighborhood hit me with all the color, murals, and creative energy like it was trying to convince me to move there immediately. It was semi-loud, bright, artistic, and basically screamed welcome to Brooklyn. At the rink, I filled out the waiver on my phone, showed it to the staff, and rented skates for seven dollars. Considering I had not roller skated in many years, I probably should have signed a second waiver promising not to sue if I fell dramatically. But once I put those skates on, the nostalgia kicked in. Back in the day, New York had roller rinks everywhere. Now they are rare, so seeing this place alive and buzzing made me root for it instantly. The rink itself is not massive, but it is big enough to make you feel confident and terrified at the same time. The crowd was a mix of beginners clinging to the rail like it was a lifeline and pros gliding around like skating versions of Michael Jackson. Meanwhile I was in the middle lane praying I would not become the next viral wipeout video. The opening DJ was decent, but the headlining DJ never really materialized. Maybe he was invisible. Maybe he was on a coffee break. Maybe he was spiritually mixing from another dimension. Either way, I was a little disappointed. Music is a big part of the experience and if the DJ is not matching the vibe, it's like dancing with no rhythm. At one point, as a former pro DJ, I even thought about asking for the manager so I could apply for my own DJ set. I mean, how hard could it be? All jokes aside, I had a really good time. My friend and I laughed, the people were friendly, and the atmosphere was fun. I would definitely recommend this place. I have only been once, but I will absolutely go back again, hopefully with better music and fewer near-death skating experiences. Photos coming soon!

I believe the electronic locker is $5 and fit 2 jackets, shoes and smaller bags. There was plenty of booth and bench seating near the wide bar and around the edges of the rink. The spacious bathroom is well stocked. The service from the bar was prompt and pleasant. My favorite things were the salmon nachos and coconut water. The surface of the skating floor is smooth, and provide a comfy skating experience even for less frequent/ unseasoned skaters. The center of the floor is dedicated to learners and tricks. At times the stage is accessible for shenanigans & live shows/ DJs. The floor can be very contested on more popular night and sor special events, which less than ideal for faster skaters and easy maneuvering around folks. This is a welcome indoor activity that is weather proof and I approve.

I must have skated for about 3 hours with only the occasional 3 minute break to catch my breath. They received my payment but never responded to emails or phone calls. But thats not why they earned the one star. Let me start by saying that I spoke to both coaches and they said "its ok" and then I'm assuming the husband of the boss. He told me to talk to the coaches and the owner Jocelyne said she will talk to the coaches, which she never did. When you sign up you can choose white or blue jerseys. We chose blue. During the lessons the coaches would split the team by color and there would be 7 white shirts and 5 blue shirts (two blue shirts using skate trainers). For 5 or more sessions we had 3 blues vs 7 white jerseys. The blue jersey would lose every game by double digits and lucky to score one goal. I've ask the coaches to split the teams evenly by having some white jerseys wear blue scrimmage vest, that happened only once which the blue team won and my kids could not wait for the next class, they were so excited. The next class they where back to 7 vs 3 and and the next 3 weeks the same. Both of my kids don't want to play ice hockey anymore so we've stopped going, foregoing the rest of the lessons. LIC ICE broke my kids and took away the enjoyment of ice hockey. How can you let them get destroyed every game, hearing them complain even cry and do the same thing every lessons. I would had considered continuing with LIC ICE and even paying the tuition that was now doubled the price with the "one hour in the workout room" if you just focused more on the kids want and love of the game instead of crushing them and harassing me about signing up for next season. I even overlooked that your rink is really meant for 3 on 3 no where close to 10+ kids plus two coaches.
