My 15 year old son was verbally abused and intimidated for no reason whatsoever by one of their employees. When my wife and i went in to ask what happened the employee started to verbally abuse us. The manager was standing there watching this and did absolutely nothing about it. I called several times asking for a call back from Rich the general manager and he still hasn't called us back. I will update this post if something changes. I attached a picture of the bully fail mouth employee.

I skated here as a teen & now my kids come here! I really like it here

This place is exactly the same from 1997. I used to come here and ice skate as a teenager and it was always great. I think maybe they can update the eating area and food stand but then again this isn't a restaurant it's a place to skate and get a quick snack or hot chocolate, I'll be coming here fake skating for the winter

Never have skated here before. Only have driven my son here for his hockey games. The parking out front is limited and difficult to maneuver around when it gets filled up. There is parking in the rear too, which is roomier and less congested. There is a concession stand which is never open (at least the times I've been there). So you will be using their vending machines for food or making coffee runs to pastry place next door. They have a little arcade area with an air hockey game and a few seats for you to sit down at if the rink is too cold or you're just waiting for the kids to finish skating. They have pro shop here too, although I can't comment on how it is...since I've never seen it open either. As rinks go, this isn't too bad. If you're going to skate or play hockey it's just fine. If you want a place newer more visually appealing facility, go elsewhere.

I want to love Iceland, I do. But until some basic issues get attention, I'm in the lukewarm zone. The skate counter is run by all young teenagers, which is fine. But when it gets busy and there's 2 teens helping- 4 others lounging around by the skates- it's annoying. The skates themselves are a hit or miss. The first pair of skates for both me and my little sister had laces that were too short (they laced all the way up but left no room to tie a bow). I like my skates to be generally tight around my ankles for support, so having to go back twice and switch out skates was again, not major- but annoying. And when I complained of the short laces, the skates were simply placed back on the shelves both times. You would think they'd want to replace the laces as soon as possible, and not have those short laced ones go back out with someone else. Once we got our skates, it's on to the lockers. I put all my stuff in the first locker I saw empty. I attempt to put in quarters. There are quarters already stuck in it. No big deal, I moved all my stuff to the locker adjacent to it. Same thing again. I then had to move my things to a third locker to finally secure my belongings. Sheesh. The rink size is great, but is very cold. I don't remember ever needing gloves for an indoor ice rink- but I sure missed them when I noticed my hands were ice cold. Some sections were cornered off (sides and middle) for people (or students?) to practice fancy footwork. There were figure skaters (students?) and hockey players in the middle and sides. I'm not savvy with this stuff, but the people coned off on the sides were the most difficult to avoid (since they often skated and practiced outside the cones). I felt like any time they did a spin or practiced a hard stop, we were about to collide. Plus, most kids who grip onto the wall for dear life do this the whole way around the rink. So when my sister and her friends made their way into these sections, I was worried we were in someone's way. Considering public skating is only a few hours each weekend, the fancy foot work and hockey practice should be saved for other times. There's a snack bar with some basic snacks and a few vending machines. There's also a few arcade games. This rink is generally rundown, but if anything could be fixed- the bathroom really needs the most help. The toilet seats are really low to the ground, which was awkward getting down and up from on skates. The stalls have very large gaps in the doors, that basically allow anyone within eyesight a free show. And the most disappointing- there was no warm water. After skating and having freezing cold hands, the last thing I wanted to do was run them under cold water. Despite the things that can be improved, Iceland was still fun- and can be if you know what to expect.

Had some great memories here but this rink definitely needs some renovations. Other than that this rink is pretty decent.

My friend was in town and told me about a DJ playing at a roller skating rink, and suddenly I was transported back to the era when roller rinks ruled the City. So we went, both of us pretending we were twenty years younger. When I got off the train in Bushwick, the neighborhood hit me with all the color, murals, and creative energy like it was trying to convince me to move there immediately. It was semi-loud, bright, artistic, and basically screamed welcome to Brooklyn. At the rink, I filled out the waiver on my phone, showed it to the staff, and rented skates for seven dollars. Considering I had not roller skated in many years, I probably should have signed a second waiver promising not to sue if I fell dramatically. But once I put those skates on, the nostalgia kicked in. Back in the day, New York had roller rinks everywhere. Now they are rare, so seeing this place alive and buzzing made me root for it instantly. The rink itself is not massive, but it is big enough to make you feel confident and terrified at the same time. The crowd was a mix of beginners clinging to the rail like it was a lifeline and pros gliding around like skating versions of Michael Jackson. Meanwhile I was in the middle lane praying I would not become the next viral wipeout video. The opening DJ was decent, but the headlining DJ never really materialized. Maybe he was invisible. Maybe he was on a coffee break. Maybe he was spiritually mixing from another dimension. Either way, I was a little disappointed. Music is a big part of the experience and if the DJ is not matching the vibe, it's like dancing with no rhythm. At one point, as a former pro DJ, I even thought about asking for the manager so I could apply for my own DJ set. I mean, how hard could it be? All jokes aside, I had a really good time. My friend and I laughed, the people were friendly, and the atmosphere was fun. I would definitely recommend this place. I have only been once, but I will absolutely go back again, hopefully with better music and fewer near-death skating experiences. Photos coming soon!

I've skated here twice (Autumn and Spring) and enjoyed myself BOTH times…read more I own quad skates, so that $15 rental fee is not a factor. If you do rent, the two-toned suede skates are cute. I believe the electronic locker is $5 and fit 2 jackets, shoes and smaller bags. There was plenty of booth and bench seating near the wide bar and around the edges of the rink. The spacious bathroom is well stocked. The service from the bar was prompt and pleasant. My favorite things were the salmon nachos and coconut water. The surface of the skating floor is smooth, and provide a comfy skating experience even for less frequent/ unseasoned skaters. The center of the floor is dedicated to learners and tricks. At times the stage is accessible for shenanigans & live shows/ DJs. The floor can be very contested on more popular night and sor special events, which less than ideal for faster skaters and easy maneuvering around folks. This is a welcome indoor activity that is weather proof and I approve.

This area hasn't always had the best track record when it comes to keeping places clean or well-maintained (I'm thinking of that old movie theater down the road), so I wasn't sure what to expect. But, truthfully, I have no major complaints. The rink was impeccably clean, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the whole place just felt upbeat and well-run. Even the food was surprisingly good, granted its hot dogs and pizza. I did not strap on a pair of skates and take my big booty on the rink, but the kids (and adults that were braver than me) had an amazing time - nothing but laughter. One slight thing that I didn't like is that those hand roller thingys kids use to prevent face planting cost extra, and it was both overly costly and created a logistical nightmare because everyone was stealing each others (not sure the kids understand they had to be paid for so if they where around they just took one) Overall though, solid roller rink.

When I asked about this charge, I was told it was mentioned to me that there would be a $10 fee for non-skaters, but there are signs and it's online so I should have seen that. That was not the case, and I was never informed about this extra fee until the day of the party. What really frustrates me is that I would never ask parents to leave if they wanted to watch their children at a birthday party, especially when we had traveled 40 minutes to be there. It's incredibly inconvenient and unfair to expect parents to leave or be charged for simply wanting to be present at an event for their child. I want to emphasize that while the skating experience itself was fine, the lack of transparency and the additional surprise charges really soured the entire experience. If you plan to book a party here, make sure you have everything in writing and double-check the charges before committing. I will not be returning for future events and I highly recommend that others carefully consider these hidden fees before booking.
