( see pix) For those who might be using a GPS be aware once entering the park to make aright turn and follow to the back parking lot where the Center is. The group was lead by Susan Lilli's - Conductor & Narrator. They sang a variety of holiday songs and did a few skits, also handing out candy canes to the audience. "Nancy" played the drum for " Little drummer boy". They ended with "Auld Lang Syne wishing the audience good holidays and Happy New Year. In the back there were a few snacks for the sharing. The building itself has some children's decor, a display of wall tiles and a little Christmas tree in the hall.

On a cold Sunday afternoon, my daughter was pleading with me take her ice skating and the only other option was outside on a windy day so we opted to come here. Checkin was a breeze. Town of Oyster Bay residents get a healthy break but even though we live in Huntington, it was a super low price to skate for three hours for $14- that's including the skate rentals. So a super slam dunk for this low cost activity to burn some calories and pent up energy. The staff was friendly and we were up and running in no time at all. There were two windows open for payment and about 4 people behind to get your skates. Leave one of your shoes and they give you a pair in your size. The rink was divided into a trio of areas. The center was used for those who figure skate. And one side was coned off for additional practice. The rest was set up for those who do the traditional counter clockwise circular skating we all are accustomed to. At about half-time, the Zamboni came out to refinish the ice and made for a clean, smooth ride. There are guards there for safety but as far as I could see, were really unnecessary. Bleachers are set up for those who don't want to break their butts (like me) and can cheer on their team or little one while they skate. There is a pro shop inside to buy whatever you might need. For a low cost event, this really was a no- brainer.

Warm rink, relatively, as ice rinks go, and the ice was a bit on the softer side. Seating up above the sides which gives a good view from one side of the rink (lengthwise). The whole dome build is similar to a circus tent design - big high center point. Bathrooms had good quality hand towels and electric dryers, and there are four rooms for teams to suit up in for hockey, etc. Small food space under the stairs on one side but not sure if that opens regularly. The hours posted are daily 10-4p, but I'd call ahead and check if you want to be certain - the desk at the front can also deal with park permits, etc.

The ring itself gets overcrowded very fast, and one of the annoying things is some trainers get very aggravated if you ski too close to their trainee while knowing it is public hours. You can get things from new laces to Gatorade. I think there might be a claw game also. A bunch of benches there to change. We used to leave our bag or sweatshirts there on busy days They have adjusted well to COVID-19 and have temperature checks and a form at entry. I appreciate that as many places do not so temperature checks at all. The gentleman working at the on-site skate shop was very friendly and helped a lot. He sized my foot and gave me 3 boots to try on. Turns out I have a wide foot according to the Reidell sizing guide and I never knew. He didn't put pressure on me to purchase immediately, but I will be back! They also sell some apparel which is cute.
