Fantastic throwback spot in a super cool section of Bushwick!…read more They put on concerts with their super loud & tight sound system, which also has a cool video wall behind the large stage. For skating, they have a large, oval wooden roller rink floor, just they had in the 70's & 80's all around NYC and the boroughs. Killer DJ's & awesome song selections keep the energy going for both concerts & skating. This is a truly unique spot that's perfect for young kids & everyone else up to their 60's or so. (I'd cut it off after that as it's loud & most Seniors wouldn't like the volume & probably shouldn't be roller skating, unless they really know what they're doing). Love that this place exists - it's MAGICAL!!!

I've skated here twice (Autumn and Spring) and enjoyed myself BOTH times…read more I own quad skates, so that $15 rental fee is not a factor. If you do rent, the two-toned suede skates are cute. I believe the electronic locker is $5 and fit 2 jackets, shoes and smaller bags. There was plenty of booth and bench seating near the wide bar and around the edges of the rink. The spacious bathroom is well stocked. The service from the bar was prompt and pleasant. My favorite things were the salmon nachos and coconut water. The surface of the skating floor is smooth, and provide a comfy skating experience even for less frequent/ unseasoned skaters. The center of the floor is dedicated to learners and tricks. At times the stage is accessible for shenanigans & live shows/ DJs. The floor can be very contested on more popular night and sor special events, which less than ideal for faster skaters and easy maneuvering around folks. This is a welcome indoor activity that is weather proof and I approve.

It also has skate rental, lockers, food & drink for purchase, and good seating. It's great for all from new skaters, becuase they provide safety walker for beginners. The night I went the dj was playing all of the cookout/old skool house party hits, it was cute. Plenty of space for photo opts. The event was a goodazztime!!!

Entry was free (unheard of in this day and age!) and skate rentals were only $20+tax. Believe me when I say the energy of all the skaters, employees and DJ were off the charts! Everyone was positive, enthusiastic, supportive and friendly! There were impromptu conga lines, electric slide dances and smiles aplenty. I must have skated for about 3 hours with only the occasional 3 minute break to catch my breath. In case you got hungry or thirsty, there were small mom n pop food and drink vendors by the entrance charging very reasonable prices. The best part was being amongst such talented skaters! I've only been skating three times now but I feel like I leveled up just by watching others here. If you're new to skating, rest assured that the community is as friendly as they are skilled! 5/5 beach skating event.. thank you RollerWave NYC!

Update: My kiddo stayed at LIC ICE for 3 full years. He…read moreloved every practice and game. They made him feel so special and supported him to be such a great little hockey player. The coaches and owners are the most caring and wonderful people. I actually cried at the last game because I am so proud of all my son achieved, and I will miss going there weekly! High recommend for kids interested in learning hockey :)

My two kids joined their learn to play class, from the start was it was a hassle. We were required…read moreto get their measurements for their hockey gear and I had questions but was unable to reach the owner, Jocelyne. They received my payment but never responded to emails or phone calls. But thats not why they earned the one star. Let me start by saying that I spoke to both coaches and they said "its ok" and then I'm assuming the husband of the boss. He told me to talk to the coaches and the owner Jocelyne said she will talk to the coaches, which she never did. When you sign up you can choose white or blue jerseys. We chose blue. During the lessons the coaches would split the team by color and there would be 7 white shirts and 5 blue shirts (two blue shirts using skate trainers). For 5 or more sessions we had 3 blues vs 7 white jerseys. The blue jersey would lose every game by double digits and lucky to score one goal. I've ask the coaches to split the teams evenly by having some white jerseys wear blue scrimmage vest, that happened only once which the blue team won and my kids could not wait for the next class, they were so excited. The next class they where back to 7 vs 3 and and the next 3 weeks the same. Both of my kids don't want to play ice hockey anymore so we've stopped going, foregoing the rest of the lessons. LIC ICE broke my kids and took away the enjoyment of ice hockey. How can you let them get destroyed every game, hearing them complain even cry and do the same thing every lessons. I would had considered continuing with LIC ICE and even paying the tuition that was now doubled the price with the "one hour in the workout room" if you just focused more on the kids want and love of the game instead of crushing them and harassing me about signing up for next season. I even overlooked that your rink is really meant for 3 on 3 no where close to 10+ kids plus two coaches.
