OMG, these empanadas are delicious! my hubby loves all the meat ones but his favorite is the Buisquits and Gravy. I'm a vegetarian so my favorite in the Spinach and Cheese. But if I could eat the Dulce de Leche ones every day without them going to my hips I would eat those for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Their Chimichurri salsa is amazing too! A must have. Great empanadas! I had two different ones and they were both great! I can't say the same about the tortilla soup since it was pretty bland and missed a lot of the fixens that I got elsewhere whenever you ordered a tortilla soup. We stopped by on our way home from at trip to Universal Studios to grab a car friendly breakfast. The empanadas were delicious. We tried the ham, chedder, jalapeño. The soy chorizo, the cheese and potato, the dulce de leche, and banana Nutella. All were amazing, I would recommend this place to anyone. The guy behind the counter was super nice and patience with us and gave good recommendations. Another patron told us the burritos were awsome too, to bad we didn't get to try them. my favs are the breakfast, chicken, and ham & cheese empanadas. can't beat the combo meal they have, 2 empanadas a side and a drink for like $8-9 they also have like a point system so you can get free empanadas after a certain number of purchases which definitely comes in handy. the chimichurri sauce is amazing and i want to put it on everything!!! the toritlla soup is seriously so addictive, i crave it at random times and am forced to come in an get some because it's so good! my only dislike was the chimi pasta salad, it seemed to lack flavor. read more

Fist and foremost the place can be seen off the street and parking is a bit hard to find. I was able to park directly in front of the business (street parking). I was recommended this place by my Physical Therapy office and I'm so glad I visited. The Empanadas are hot and fresh out of the oven to the warmer and placed in a bag immediately after you have decided what to get. They have quite a variety of choices and specials. I opted out for a spinach and cream corned empanada. They were both filled completely with goodness. I thought I could finish two but instead I ate the spinach empanada with a small side salad and saved my cream corn empanada for dinner. The empanadas were $2.95 each and worth every bit of it. I recommend that you come during the early part of the afternoon because even for a Friday it was a bit busy but had a 5 min wait. I can't wait to try more of their empanadas. By the way zap them in the oven for 2 min and they will still taste like they just came fresh out of the oven. read more

This place has great food and amiable workers. When I eat here I am taken back to when I backpacked around South America for a year. They have a wide assortment of options and a special that changes every week. Personally I really enjoy the santa fe chicken empananda. I also recommend trying a breakfast burrito here. I usually frequent the Corner Cottage and have found it to be an unexpected delight. I look forward to visiting this establishment soon. read more

Empanada dough is light and flakey. Good proportion of dough and filling. Simple ham & cheese: favorite Beef: rich meaty flavor. Spicy chicken: good flavor, with nice heat. Chili con carne: good flavor but the whole beans took up too much filling space and made it seem dry. read more

Location and menu options are the only thing that can't make this a 5 star. They do have their "own" door to the far right, but basically it's in the liquor store. Prices are amazing for their 3 empanada combo, and the difference of baked vs. fried is huge. We went on a Saturday, and as another reviewer stated, you may want to call ahead to see what they are offering as they didn't have the spinach or potato empanadas I wanted to try, but they did have their amazing Ham and Cheese with jalapeno bites, and then they had both chicken empanadas, and the corn as well. We had our 3 combo with the pasta salad. I loved the Ham and Cheese and the amazing empanada dough. It looked small, but man it was jam packed with filling. The chicken and corn were larger size. The pasta salad had an amazing garlic flavor that complimented the empanadas perfectly. I can see that word will spread fast about this spot and hope to see them grow. read more

Hands down...: best empanadas ever. I ordered the combo with tortilla soup, 1 soy chorizo and 1 pinto bean and rice. Wow. I am officially hooked - especially the soy chorizo which has potato.... perfection. Hubby and son feasted on the Santa Fe, Chicken, Ham and Cheese and Nutella empanadas. We also ordered the Hibiscus drink (Jamaica) and Horchata. The Hibiscus (or as Latinos know it as Jamaica), was perfect - it's very hard to get it right without it being too sweet or bitter. The horchata is one of the best we've had - almost as good as the one my husbands family makes and it takes them 5 hours to prepare (they are Salvadoran). Very friendly staff - ambience is great. I also enjoyed listening to Buena Vista Social Club on their playlist. Will definitely be coming back - we live in West LA and it's worth the drive. read more

I stumbled into this place to get a soda, smelled the empanadas & never left! I have limited myself to going to this place 2 times a week but sometimes still can't help myself from doing a third run! They have specials, world cuisines stuffed into an emanada, every friday, and I have not been disappointed once! My favorates, Spinach Empanada, Ham & Cheese w/jalapeno, and one of the specials that I flipped over, the ratatioue (sp?) emanada. Dipped in chimichuri sauce, you will NEVER BE DISAPPOINTED! The family that runs the business is always wonderfully pleasant, the prices are amazing, and as I may have mentioned, the empanadas are absolutely addictive! I've never tried anything like them. I bought two empanadas I ate them both and I wish I had more. I have seen this popped up on my maps when I'm looking for a vegan food but today I was hungry and close by so I decided to stop. I bought the quinoa and lentil and the soy chorizo and both of them were delicious. The crust on the empanada was so flaky all I can say is it tasted like I was biting into little pillows of goodness. I also ordered the Jamaica drink which I don't usually get it anywhere and it was really good as well. I ordered a ham and cheese and a chicken for my mother but since I am not eating meat I won't be able to taste those I am sure though she will not be disappointed. And at $2.95 a pop they make an affordable lunch. Cute spot with minimal seating within. Things were fairly quiet when the hubs and I stopped in for a snack on a late Sunday afternoon. Most people seemed to take their orders to go. We had their potato & cheese and their pinto bean & rice empanadas. They were piping hot and we greedily burned our mouths on their innards. The potato & cheese had a nice spicy kick to it, too. The outers, however, left me feeling something was missing. Like there was too much fluff and not enough flake to the dough. I'll go back for another sampling, especially since they were out of several tasty sounding options when we went, including nutella & banana which is something everyone needs in their life. I have literally been here every week they have been open. I am very close in the neighborhood but I am so happy this family has moved in. Not only are the empanadas/ sandwiches the BEST I'VE EVER HAD, the family that runs it is so amazing and loving you can taste it.
