It's basically a takeout place for empanadas, with only three outdoor tables. The waiting time could be long at rush hours, each empanada costs about $5, and discounted prices if you buy half a dozen or a dozen. I've tried one of their most popular flavors, the Beef Empanada with seasoned ground beef, green olives, potatoes, bell peppers, and spices, and it was quite salty.

Nutella and banana empanada

Amazing empanadas quit a selection from meats to vegans I had Beef. Chili con carne and Nutella with bananas . You got to watch the last one you will bit in to a Nutella oozing out of the shell. The Chili con carne had just the right amount of spice. The restaurant is ultra clean and the service was spot on. You can eat outside or pick up to go

Nah fam they might actually be the goat. This place actually makes better pasta than most Italian restaurants. Like it's actually al dente. Wild. The burrito is good too. Where this place shines is the empanadas. The perfect mix of crispy but soft. The stuff is reasonable, the flavors are all there. In the corner of your empanada, they actually press on the initials for what type it is so it's easy to tell later on. You've gotta clean the outdoor seating yourself, like brush off peopes crumbs and the like, but that's cool.

If you like all kinds of Empanadas come check this place out they have different variety! You've got savory options like beef, chicken, steak, chorizo, There are also sweet empanadas, Nutella, and banana. Been coming here for years. Coming back soon !!!

I saw on a Yelp friend review this place and I wanted to try it. The place is small and I only saw the windows to order and pick up. So I ordered on line and when I got there my order was ready. I really recommend them. They have different flavors, they even have some sweet ones. I ordered 3 of mushrooms and two of the Garbanzo ones. I also ordered some pepperoni and some cheese. They were so warm, flaky, tasty, and delicious. The mushrooms flavor had enough stuffing and the crust very soft and flaky. Any flavor you get they are pretty good. I am just sad that I am so far away from them I don't get to taste them often. I highly recommend this place. They had couple of tables at the street to eat buy mainly this place is to pick up.

I've never had a ham and cheese empanada before and it absolutely hit the spot in the morning! they gave me 3 sauces i can use as dipping sauce and mhm all three were so good! i like that they have outdoor seating as well as street parking in the front. the service was quick. the people working the day i went were really nice. 10/10 best spot in Burbank!!

We ordered a dozen and chose Beef, chicken pot pie, Santa Fe chicken and Chile Con Carne. Loved how it came with the sauces. I'm not a spicy person at all and the Santa Fe chicken was my favorite. Took about 10 minutes and we waited in the tables in front. I didn't realized there was an inside with tables until someone walked in. We came home and everyone practically devoured it. Only 2 left in the box!

6 pack empanadas

Delish empanadas. I got the 6 pack. Beef, spicy potato, biscuits and gravy, pizza flavors. The best one was the potato one. Orders are made at the window and they take a few minutes to prepare fresh. The seating is on the sidewalk so it's great for a quick snack or to just take home.

Cute location, friendly service, good price, good empanadas! I was driving around for a quick bite because I had 15 minutes to burn, and this came up in my Apple Maps search. There was some street parking in the front, and not too crowded. You order at the window, and the menus are directly above the order window. I asked the worker about the most popular empanadas, and he said the beef and the spinach/cheese. I went with beef and a breakfast empanada. I love how they engrave the name of the restaurant into the empanada crust (photo attached). They are cooked to order, and take about 5-8 minutes. For the beef empanada, I feel like it was pretty good! I just wish it had more flavor. It felt like something was missing. Slightly bland. I really liked the breakfast empanada. The salsa really set both off them off :) Make sure to get a side of salsa! I feel like I'd come back to try other empanadas!

Had a solo brunch here while in the neighborhood. The cashier was nice and helpful but I knew what empanadas II wanted immediately after reviewing the menu. All 4 were very good, not heavy, light flaky crust. The photo and cheese was the most spicy and dense, chili con carne has great flavor, the pot pie most surprisingly good and my favorite was the santa fe. There are 3 sauces available in hot, medium and mild, I enjoyed each, mixing and matching flavors. Order and pick up at the window. There are tables and chairs in front and back with a kiosk to place your order on screen.

I have been here a few times but somehow never wrote a review. The best empanadas in town for sure. It's always fresh, flavorful and delicious. Variety of fillings. They also sell burritos and some other items. I come for the empanadas. A quick lunch today. One with asada and one with chicken. They offer catering and boxes to go. Or you can get it a la carte. Customer service is friendly. Some outdoor seating available. Mostly people get it to go.

Averaging more than $3 for one empanada. It's an outrageous price for an empanada, and they aren't big either.

The vegan plate had black beans, white rice, plantains, and a side salad. The bandeja paisa had beans, a fried egg, chicharron, steak, rice, plantain, and chorizo. The meat was perfectly grilled but the chicharron was a little tough but still good. The vegan plate had much flavor -- the beans were tasty and the rice fresh. They were very generous with the plantains. The complimentary tortilla chips and salsa were so fresh and delicious. The spinach empanada was a little tough - it was crispy but there was less spinach than I would have expected and the cheese in it wasn't really melted either. Overall the food was very fresh and delicious. Parking can be tricky bc their lot fits only 3 cars. We parked a couple blocks in the neighborhood. Front of the store parking also seems limited. Holbox is a Mexican seafood spot inside Mercado La Paloma and the quality of the food seriously speaks for itself. You can tell there's real care and freshness put into every dish. It absolutely deserves all the recognition it gets as one of LA's standout seafood spots. I had the ceviche mixto with rice and a shrimp taco and both were sooo good. The ceviche was bright fresh flavorful and packed with seafood. The shrimp taco was perfectly balanced and honestly one of those tacos you think about later. My partner got the smoked kanpachi taco and a shrimp plate that neither of us can remember the exact name of but the sauce on it was INSANE. We were literally talking about it the whole meal. My daughter got the coctel and loved it too. Even the lemonade was electric... refreshing flavorful and honestly one of the best lemonades I've had in a while. Everything tasted fresh clean and thoughtfully prepared without feeling pretentious. The whole meal felt comforting while still being exciting and unique. Overall this place absolutely lived up to the reviews and I'll definitely be back next time I'm in LA. Holbox is officially worth the hype.

I ordered the La Bamba Special, which features slow-roasted, shredded pork seasoned with a Caribbean-style marinade and is usually served with rice and beans. I was looking forward to a flavorful Cuban-style dish, but the meal turned out to be quite unexpected. Instead, the plate included chunks of pork topped with raw red onions, accompanied by Mexican rice and refried beans, which didn't align with my expectations. Overall, the dish was disappointing and unappealing, both in flavor and in the combination of sides. I ended up eating only a quarter of it. The refried beans had no flavor, and I chose not to eat the rice because I prefer different styles. One of my friends ordered fried yuca and fried plantains. While I appreciate the effort to include these items, the yuca was quite dry and could benefit from more seasoning. The plantains, which resembled regular bananas, seemed to have too much oil. As someone who enjoys Caribbean cuisine, I believe the restaurant would benefit from focusing more on traditional flavor combinations. Mixing elements of Mexican and Caribbean cuisine can be a challenge, especially for those familiar with both; there's great potential for improvement by keeping these cuisines distinctly represented. I recommend assessing your kitchen staff; they may need training. I wanted to share some positive recommendations with family and friends about visiting this restaurant, but I recommend exploring other options for now. I hope that constructive feedback will help enhance the dining experience. Thank you!
