Interestingly, we walked past at least three empty, freshly set tables as we were seated that would have accommodated our party. Our table was not fully set when we sat down. The food was mediocre. Prime rib was tough, ham was tasteless, mashed potatoes were good, mac and cheese was okay, salad bar was basic, dessert was okay. Not worth $40 per person. Service was acceptable given the buffet dinner. Appropriate cash tip was left. We have had far better experiences at the Maple Tree in the past. This is why we chose to make reservations for Easter dinner. We were offered no discount or compensation for our trouble. Very disappointed.

It is constantly packed, but the staff and owners always tend to us and make sure our food is always the best quality. If you ever have time, talk to the owners. Tell them thank you. They are incredible people who really know how to make you laugh and feel completely at home!! Ask about their family's other restaurants in the area, they are truly a powerhouse of talented people. I am vegan and I always order the Thai Curry or the Mango Coconut Curry with tofu along with an appetizer of baji (crispy chickpea flower veggie fritters), samosas, or Tibetan dumplings (steamed). The curry is the best I've ever had, so incredibly rich and deep in layered flavor. The tomatoey Nepali style sauce served with appetizers is to die for--salted to perfection and the tamarind sauce is also incredible. Here's a little tip: if you LOVE spicy food, and I mean if you LOVE pain and suffering, ask for a 10 out of 5 spice level. One of the owners got such a kick out of me ordering high spice levels and I worked up to a 14 out of 5. Granted, once I ate a 14 out of 5 on an empty stomach and felt the impact for DAYS...lol so now I stick with a 5/5 spice level every time I go. So please be smart about it and use caution. We ended up ordering take out from the China Inn, after a nine-year absence. This establishment has not been my favorite place to order Chinese food, in years past, but I obliged my husband's request, as I didn't want it taking an hour to decide where to eat. I ordered my usual, chicken with snow peas, which also included bamboo shoots, carrots and celery. It comes with a darker sauce now, when years ago it came with a white sauce. I told my husband to ask if they could substitute the dark sauce, for white sauce, and to my surprise they honored my request. My husband ordered the Four seasons with shrimp, chicken, beef, roasted pork and broccoli. He ordered it extra spicy. The meal came with white rice. We also ordered pork eggs rolls, cream cheese rangoons and pork fried rice. I was pleasantly pleased with my dish, although the celery could have been stir-fried a bit longer, as it was very crunchy. The chicken was tender and moist and the peas, carrots and bamboo shoots were stir fried perfectly. My husband wasn't super thrilled with his dish as he ordered it extra spicy, but he stated it was bland, and it was lacking in shrimp. Now, knowing when my husband states food is not spicy, and I taste it, my mouth is burning, so who knows if it was spicy or not. I wasn't going to take a chance tasting his meal. The eggs rolls and crab rangoons were crispy and not greasy. The pork fried rice was also very good and much better tasting than years ago. I can't comment on the interior, as I didn't pick up the take out. I was very happy there was no issue with substituting the sauce that I wanted in my dish. I believe China Inn has changed owners a few times, and the food has improved quite a bit since 2016.
