You go to World Buffet for the food, NOT the ambience. The furniture show it's age (years worth of wear and tear) and the decor is very bland, with a 1980's feel to it. (But they do have a cool large fish tank). But the food is what's most important. The buffet lunch has a nice selection, the salad bar is plentiful, and there are several options for soups and desserts. All of the things I tried were good, but nothing was great. It was a plus that although most of the food was Chinese, they did have some other alternatives (pizza, meatloaf, mashed potatoes and gravy). This is not fine dining, but if you're looking for a filling lunch with a variety of good food for $10, this is the place to be. And because of this, I was a satisfied customer.

Great price, but the food is certainly not as good as other buffet such as Journey, not much choices especially for the sushi.

I've been in Madison for work for the past 3 weeks and have been to Taste of Sichuan several times…read moreeach week! It's been consistently good, with extremely fast service. The food is mostly Sichuan, with some American Chinese staples as well. It's also a huge space, so you'll never have problem getting a table. They do a lot of takeout business as well. I highly recommend the spicy Sichuan chicken (with tongue-numbing peppercorn), the Chongqing chicken, home style tofu, and spicy green beans. I also brought several colleagues who enjoyed Taste of Sichuan very much, and returned themselves!

The server who took our order was very friendly. I was hesitating about whether to add more dishes, and he honestly told me that what we ordered should be enough. He was right--we couldn't even finish it! The restaurant space is quite large, and most of the customers seemed to be students from the nearby area. The reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because the front desk staff had a pretty bad attitude. I called earlier to ask if the restaurant was open, and her responses were impatient, and she even hung up the phone abruptly. That really affected the overall experience. Overall, the food is good and the portions are great, but the customer service at the front desk needs improvement.

The menu is absolutely huge, so our server steered us in the right direction in terms of drink recommendations. The Hot Passion cocktail is a must get! It comes with an aflame sugarcube as a garnish to an absolutely delicious passionfruit tequila cocktail. In terms of food, the prad kra prow saute was just OK if you ask me, but I've also never ordered the same dish elsewhere, so I don't have anything to compare it to. Fun ambiance, and the restaurant accommodated our reservation for 14 people on a Sunday, which was much appreciated!

Food: Tom Kha Noodle Soup - I ordered a medium level of spice and felt it was pretty good, rich creamy coconut red curry broth with a nice tangy undertones, generous portion of noodles and tofu within the noodle soup, liked that it came with pho topping of bean sprouts, basil, jalapeno and lime Service was good, the restaurant was pretty busy but the staff was still attentive, water glass and carafe was brought right when I sat down. Food took a few minutes to prepare but not too long of a wait. Overall I enjoyed Little Palace, the restaurant has an expensive menu so it would be great to come with a group to try more. The tom Kha noodle soup was pretty tasty, a bit of a richer heartier soup, curious to try the pho on the menu to see how it stacks up.
