Even with the not so great recent reviews we decided to give this place a try. Put the order in ahead of time and when we arrived it was ready in a bag to pick up! Portion sizes are fantastic for the price. I'm sure even better during lunch specials. I ordered the sweet and sour pork. Breading was fantastic and loved the consistency of the rice. My fiancé got chicken chow mein which was delicious also! We both got an egg roll and that's definitely worth the couple extra bucks to add on. Can't wait to try more menu items! read more

Seriously the worst Chinese food we have ever had!! I had the chicken fried rice (how do you mess that up)!! My hubby got the pork lo mein and and said it was the worst he has ever had. This is literally just Chang Jiang with a slightly different name. Food was somehow worse though. Got Hunan Chicken and I don't know what the hell I got served, but it was not good. The chicken came in thin, bitesized pieces, and it was so soggy and mushy that I don't even know if it was chicken. More like chicken skin soaked in salt and grease. My partner's Hunan Beef was slightly better, if only because you could tell you were eating real meat. Vegetable eggroll contained only cabbage, which is subpar to say the least. Don't eat here. The other businesses have repeatedly watched the cooks literally hanging unwrapped meat in the trees behind the building for hours during the summer. FOR REAL!!! There is no reason such a thing should happen, and god only knows what they are doing with that meat in the kitchen. Before we heard about this, we had eaten there multiple times and the food was just average at best. We love this place, it's best known for fast take out. The food is usually ready in 15 minutes or less. We've never been disappointed. Egg rolls are always hot and crispy, and they have a very extensive menu. Customer service is great. Highly recommend. read more

Ordered lo mien and chicken teriyaki and it was very bad. Chicken had a rubbery texture and lo mien tasted old. We have ordered the same things from a Madison Xiang Jiang location and were happy with the food, however, we were not able to eat the food we paid for here because it was so bad. read more

I'm not a huge fan of Chinese take out restaurants since their food is usually... well for a lack of better words "crap." But Xiang Jiang wasnt that bad! Their prices are really cheap and the food is pretty good! I love their crab rangoons and their peppered steak w. onions! Yumm!! I go there atleast 2-3 times a month because their food keeps me coming back for more! So happy Cottage Grove has a Chinese take out place nearby! read more

This is pretty good for what it is - cheap Chinese takeout. It's not gourmet stuff, but the quality is consistently good, and if you're in the mood for a decent, filling Chinese meal, you can't go too wrong here. They have a dining room, but I've never seen anyone eating in it. read more

I ate here for the first time and all I can say positively is that the food was edible. Besides that the service given could be 100x improved and the quality of the food aswell. Also sanitation is a huge one with this restaurant that needs alot of improvement since I seen all the cooks grabbing rice, noodles etc with their bare hands very disgusting. I struggle with finding good Chinese food. This place hit the spot! This was my first visit here but was very happy. Crab rangoon are my favorite and this place did not disappoint. They were filled nicely and had good flavor. The szechuan chicken was really good. Chicken was white meat and not "grizzley". The vegetables seemed fresh and tasty. I will go here again. Wowser! I'm not sure what happened here, but our last take-out order was fantastic. New owners? New cooks? We've pretty much avoided ordering here because it was so boring and "same-old, same-old." The egg rolls were amazing, and each dish we ordered had a great taste and texture. Even the rice was moist and flavorful, versus the hard, dry pucks you usually get.
