We arrived about 15 minutes early for our 7:45pm reservation on a Saturday and sat at the bar for a drink. I opted for a morning glow and an espresso martini. Both were decent, I would probably explore another option next time. Seating took a little longer than we thought, seated around 8pm. I'll be honest, at first our sever seemed like a jerk, but quickly turned it around. We started with the cheesecurds, we ate every single one of them. The salads that come with dinner were the perfect size and the bread was a nice touch. We went with a couple of different steaks and they were some of the best cuts we have ever had. As avid 801 Chop in Minneapolis this place blew them out of the water. Second best thing were the mashed potatoes- holy crap, so good! The hash browns were okay but I would have been sad if that was my only option. We were stuffed but the flourless chocolate cake was calling our names. I'm SO glad we pushed through and ordered it, it was a 12/10! Order this, even if you're full and thank me later! Check this place out, you wont be sorry!

I ordered the 6 oz filet (medium) which was charred on the outside and melted in my mouth. My husband had the boneless ribeye - very little fat and one of his top 5 all time best steaks. I had the spicy margarita which was so good. They had a lot of dessert options but we didn't order any. The place was dimly lit so it was a very romantic date night. The reason for my 4/5 stars is that a margarita in a small bar glass should not be $15. Our total bill for 2 lobster bisques, 1 6 oz filet, 1 16 oz ribeye, a beer, and a margarita was $172. I feel like we ordered should not have been that expensive, but I guess it because of the dells.

Everything we tried was flavorful and well‑prepared, and the portions were generous. The atmosphere really stands out -- lively but relaxed, with that Cajun‑inspired charm that makes it feel special without being pretentious. Definitely a spot worth visiting if you're looking for good food, great vibes, and a little taste of the South in Madison. We came on a mid afternoon Saturday so pretty slow and chill!

We were taken to a fun room resembling a spot under a willow tree with a night sky above. Our waitress came over a few minutes later to take drink orders & questions & throughout the dinner she was excellent. Unfortunately the area was dark & hard to read the menu - I highly recommend candles on the table to make for a more intimate setting. Then we got our food. My bf ordered a po boy sandwich hoping to relive an experience he had elsewhere, but sadly he felt the sandwich just resembled that of a McDonald's fish sandwich lacking Cajun flavors. I ordered the jambalaya, which had a pretty good portion size, and was kind of tasty but went downhill as the few scraps of sausage were only on top & the flavors didn't get mixed in well with the rest of it. I recommend a white rice option. We also started getting excited about corn bread but were very disappointed as we were told they have it 'sometimes' but we missed out. I also don't understand the music selection as it sounded like a night club. I doubt we will return, which is sad as this place seems to have potential.

As you enter, there is a decent sized bar off to your right with a few high top tables. To your left is the dining room, which is cozy and intimate. Someone at a table near us was having what looked like a margarita, and that made me want a margarita. So, instead of getting a bottle of wine, we both got a margarita. It was not what the other person was drinking, but oh my was this one of the best margaritas I've had in recent memory! It was SO good. It had a lot of ice in it, so next time I might ask for it straight up just so I can savor it and not let the ice water it down. We also had delicious bread brought to the table with a plate of olive oil and balsamic. The bread was cut into nice little pieces, was warm, and had a delightful texture where the outside was slightly crisped but not enough to impede your bite and the inside was just warm and soft. The have a nice, varied menu and it was hard to decide what to get. I was really craving marinara sauce, so I ended up going with the Cappellaci Di Salsiccia which was a meat and cheese enclosed pasta with marinara. And it was delicious. It also came out very beautifully plated. My dining mate ordered the Penne Pollo e Pesto and loved it. I'm not wild about pesto, but had to sample a bit and the way the pesto clung to the penne was really tasty. They also have a ragu lasagna and chicken piccata on their menu that I can't wait to try. As we were leaving, I saw a sign with two of their featured fall cocktails and both sounded incredible. I will have to be back for all of these things!!

Be aware that adding butter over the top of your meat while it's searing will cause some splashing and little hot droplets of butter may land on you. We ordered the Volcanic Punch with the take home specialty punch dish/mug. It's very cute and comes out with a flame coming out from the middle. It tasted good, not overly alcoholic and not too sweet. Easy to drink but if I went again I would get my own drink because it's a little annoying sliding the drink across the table every few minutes so each person can take a sip. We started with the Seared Ahi Tuna which you cook on the lava stone. This one is easy because you just sear it really well on each side and can eat the inside pretty raw. Then we had an order of the mussels. These come in a tomato based sauce which was good but we had hoped for a more butter or wine base. Then we shared the seafood trio and steak trio. The scallops were fantastic! The salmon I wasn't that fond of. All the steak trio meats were delicious but do take longer to cook on the stone. I will say the quality of meat was pretty good. Our server was very informative and funny! The restaurant is a little smoky inside because of all of the cooking happening at eat table. My salmon was delish and I appreciated my waiter's instructions on how to cook it. I also grilled up my side of broccoli and some extra mushrooms and onions in butter on the stone. The garlic mashed potatoes on the side too were a great call. I'd literally drive 14 hours at least one way to come back here and eat, I'm not kidding. Beyond delicious, it's an experience to remember for sure.
