Best onion rings I've ever had
    Dan L.

What a great find. Right around the corner from Stratton access road. Just a small sandwich place but packs a huge taste. Got the chicken Cesar wrap that was packed full of breaded chicken cutlet, crouton and flavor. Also tried the Vietnamese BBQ Pulled Pork Banh Mi, which was so unique for a lunch sandwich. Pulled pork was melt in your mouth good. We got a side of onion rings that may be the most unique onion rings I've had; they are a combination of salty and sweet that is very special. This place was so good we returned for breakfast the next day. Burrito bowl was really good, and Vermonter was also great, which adds a a little maple syrup to the egg sandwich. Highly recommend this place.

    Philly cheesesteak bowl

We were visiting Stratton resort and wasn't enthused with any of the limited restaurant selections in the Stratton village itself. So found this place on Yelp which is only about 7-8 mins away from Stratton. This place is really good. Great customer service and ample seating especially outdoors with a great view of a creek. I got the pork banh mi sandwich which the meat was very tender as they roast their own meat in the smoker. My son got the Philly cheesesteak sandwich and while you can taste the smokiness of the meat, they could have put more Swiss cheese in it. My wife got the Philly cheesesteak bowl which came with beautifully seasoned potatoes. All the dishes had their own great distinct flavor. Finally got their award winning onion rings which I have to admit, you can taste the freshness of the batter and the onion themselves.

Our group ordered a bunch of burgers and took heed of some reviewers' warnings-- the burgers are kinda small so you'll want a double or a whole other burger if you're hungry! For me, they were just the right size to satisfy! I got the sLAMBer burger which was SO GOOD, such an amazing mix of flavors that I couldn't stop gushing about how good it was! I heard similar sounds of approval from friends enjoying their burgers (the jam one was really popular in our group). Fries weren't spectacular but when you want fries, a GOOD fry is all you need. Now the honey pie! 3 of us ordered a slice and I think everyone enjoyed it! It's a sweet baked good unlike anything I've really had before and the salt flakes on top help to cut the sweetness. It was a bit too sweet for me to eat on my own in one sitting but I still liked it! I wish they delivered but we didnt mind picking up the order since it was only 6 min away by car! I originally thought the prices were sorta expensive for burgers but honestly not that bad because what you get is so delicious. I'm super interested in trying their 16 oz matcha milkshake... next time!

The cheese blend on the extra‑cheese pizza was especially tasty, and a custom veggie pie (broccoli, greens pepper, mushrooms) had probably the most thin, uniform distribution of toppings we've ever seen. Literally every bite had small cut, perfectly cooked vegetables in it. The crust might have been our favorite part -- that ideal mix of soft and thin, with great texture and flavor. We know pizza reviews can sometimes get a rough rap, especially when people compare everything to NYC or New Haven styles. We're very familiar with those and love them. This isn't that -- and it doesn't need to be. This is simply wonderful pizza, the kind you look forward to having again. We really enjoyed the whole experience and will absolutely return on future visits to Manchester Center.

The name resonated with us, as we have a flock of 20 chickens at home. Unfortunately nearly everything that could go wrong did. The kids menu has zero breakfast options at a breakfast diner. Grilled cheese and hot dogs don't belong on a morning menu. When we tried to order a single pancake for our toddler we were told "the order is for two." No offer to help, no alternative suggested. Just a hard no. Because of the menu structure, our 3 year old's meal was literally the most expensive at the table. The menu is not kid friendly. The cost of Orange juice is also not kid friendly. But they did give him a "the hatchery" sticker when we left. When ordering pancakes the server asked "sausage or bacon?" with no mention that either was a $4 add-on. That felt like an upsell we weren't warned about. One of our three meals was completely forgotten and only caught when two plates arrived at the table. Someone sat and watched the rest of us get served. Chives were on all of our savory dishes. Not mentioned anywhere on the menu. We found out by picking them off our food. Not everyone wants chives. We ordered blueberry pancakes. Plain pancakes arrived. We only discovered this after paying when we questioned a duplicate blueberry charge on the bill. The response was defensive until we opened the box and showed them. The resolution was a $2.50 refund for the missing blueberries. The "home fries" are smashed baked potatoes, not what anyone expects from that menu description. Some of the potato pieces were visibly bruised and discolored and should never have left the kitchen. A hollow apology. Complete indifference. We tipped, packed up, and left quietly. We were good guests. This place didn't earn it.

I ended up leaving angry and literally cried.... Their online ordering has a Reuben with an option for $2 extra meat & a note box so I cld have written there asking for the extra portion on the side. EASY. Yet, I went in person to see what the specials were hoping for a great lunch, because Im here for medical procedures at the hospital and had fasted since the day before. Id never been to The Elm Street Market before, but it was close to the hospital, & love Vermont markets for all the years I have lived here. But THIS place :: T E R R I B L E mistake! The employee at the counter was as fake & uncaring as it gets, & shld definitely not be the customer guy. He would not just let the added side be $2 , but wanted to weigh it out & charge me for a deli style $6 sliced side in a package as an addition to the $14 sandwich. ($20 Reuben?!) I said I didn't need or expect a package of sliced cold meat, that I was just adding the side portion to share with my pups. For Lunch. He just becomes patronizing, dense, & fully lacking capacity or willingness to help and says he "can't bc it just doesn't work that way" unless I get it on the sandwich. I cld order it online but not with him at register. And for some reason he cant figure out a $2 portion of meat. Surreal Incompetence. The next level of downhill not-so-fun is seeing the tiny soup. A cup of soup for $8. A latte "special" that I cld not even taste the smoked maple flavor and was only 3/4 full. It's actually shocking- what happened to actually CARING about just helping ppl have a good experience if you are working in the restaurant business as a small local independent market? Hey Elm Street Market Fella, you cld do the simplest things like not try ripping ppl off & being kind! His patronizing attitude & lack of capacity really took it over the top- how am I supposed to enjoy this $36 ordeal? Supposedly he is refunding the meat, bc I explained I didn't order a package of meat. He took it out of bag & literally said "take your sandwich & drink & go". I was upset~ I said this is truly unacceptable ~ try some Kindness & Authenticity! And left. The other young lady who was working that day & witnessed this whole debacle seemed to feel bad making 'Im So Sorry' faces. She at least offered me a dollop of maple syrup & noted the drink was not filled~ but also was being oppressed by his attitude. I cld tell he was being an overbearing tyrant. Wtf - this is NOT Vermont as it should be DUDE. All it took was putting a few slices on the side for $2 & filling up a drink. Ridiculous.
