Wow has this place changed since it opened. We were literally the first customers to enter the day they opened several years ago and it was highly polished abound with numerous managers and superb waitstaff. It was this way for several months. The service and food was incredible but like most businesses it goes down hill from there and Woodson's is no exception. The staff now is much younger and less attentive and they still have the same old very uncomfortable metal dining chairs. Guess they do not want you to sit and stay very long. The food quality now is average at best but the prices of course are much higher. Outside is almost like a kids playground now. Republic Grill nearby however remains the same with excellent devoted service and same superb food as the day they opened. read more

So far not doing good. We got here at 7:58pm, were seated at 8pm, and it is 8:30 and we had to flag another waitress down to order DRINKS. No one had come to our table at all for 30 minutes. 0/5 stars for whoever was supposed to be assigned to us. 5/5 stars for Morgan, who I flagged down even though she was incredibly busy. Morgan took our entire order (AND the order of the table next to us) even though she wasn't assigned to our table, AND is clearly busy with at least 5 other tables. Not once did she act annoyed or try and rush us, and she got our kids drinks to us SUPER quickly. Kudos to her, she is amazing. Food: * Kids meal burgers - per kids, 4/5 stars * Texas Whopper Eggrolls - 3/5, nice spice in the sauce but meat is very dry. Used to be a great spot. It was very customer friendly. Their prejudice against DoorDash and other delivery services, so that's inconvenient to customers. Now this year you can't order ahead for a to-go order. Never heard of that. I've never heard of a restaurant intentionally driving away customers. That's an interesting business model. read more

They have comfy bar seats. We had: -Buffalo chicken dip with house made chips that was very good. Dip was served in a small skillet it was melty with a crispy top. I've tried a few different entrees from here and none have disappointed. This is another one of my father in laws favorites. The burgers are great but the portions are always a little big for me (I'm fairly small). The wings are also great and a little easier for me. It looks a little like a normal sports bar but I love the entrees also. Service can be terribly slow sometimes, however, that could also be that that it's quite busy. Always our favorite go to for a drink, a pretzel and a conversation. Service at the bar is reliably attentive and friendly. Our server recommended a combo appetizer and it hit the spot. Great chicken fried steak. I seem to remember them having it with fried egg on top but that is no longer in the menu. For the best probably as it wasn't that healthy. Have ordered through DD 3 times so far. Had a burger, Hat Trick, sliders, and Cajun pasta. Prices anre very reasonable. Everything we had was amazing! It's so refreshing to have a restaurant that has great food and is consistent! We can't say that about many restaurants these days. We have visited this location three times and our food was always fresh and timely. Atmosphere is upbeat and it's casual dress. I can say the only con is the attentiveness of the waitstaff. First time here. They have a variety of entrees to choose from. Unfortunately, the waitress was preoccupied and didn't check on our party of 7. Our food came out and we had to get our own silverware. Been wanting to try this place since I was always seeing their posts on Facebook! I must say, they did not disappoint. I was doing some research to see if they had outdoor seating since it was so nice out today, when I found out there was, I called to see if we could bring our pup, right when I called I got an immediate answer, I asked if their patio was dog friendly, Tyler took my call and informed me that it was but let me know in advanced that there was a wait for their patio seating, I told him that wasn't a problem, but thought that was very courteous for him to give me a heads up on that. Once we arrived it was pretty busy but we only had to wait 10-15 mins. Their patio seating is actually a very good size; it's covered and has fans. Dogs of course need to be on a leash, and they provide water bowls for them! We were acknowledged quickly from our waitress and she got down our drink orders, we had a pretty good wait time in between. We ordered the giant pretzel as an appetizer, my husband ordered the 12 piece bone in wings, which come with a side, and I ordered crawfish which comes with corn and potatoes already, it also includes butter and seasoning. You can also add in extra corn, potato, sausage, shrimp, ravioli, or mushrooms The pretzel comes with cheese, and it was delicious! The outside wasn't hard and the inside was nice and fluffy. My husband said his wings were good as well as the fries. The crawfish I thoroughly enjoyed, I ordered ravioli and mushrooms to go along with it, had some pretty good heat to it but nothing unbearable, the heads weren't as juicy as I would like but like I said, the flavor was there. Overall service from start to finish was fantastic and the food was great as well. Good little joint to visit when you want wings and a good beer. We sat out on the patio and it was nice. The service was a bit slow, but I would venture to say that is something we experience nearly every time we go out to any restaurant due to the labor shortage. I won't knock them for that because our service was very courteous and doing her best to handle the large lunch crowd. Stopped here with my friends and their two boys and my 10 month old son. He place was bopping! Nearly all tables were full on the Friday night. The service was fast and efficient and food came out quickly. I ordered the burger With Mac and cheese, fries onions, and bacon. It was actually quite good. The fries were just okay. Oh but the pretzel?! It was to DIE FOR. It was absolutely mouth watering, buttery deliciousness!! I'd go there again just for that! The beer flight I got was decent as well. And I live in San Diego and go to many breweries and I was pleasantly surprised by their beers! My only complaint is the music level. It was SO loud. Thank god I brought my son's moose cancellation headphones and mine as well! I felt no shame in wearing them because the music was so loud you couldn't really hold a conversation very easily at all. Although this place is very close to us we don't visit as often as we should. This is a great place to grab food and drinks with friends or dinner with the family. The service is pretty consistent. The hours need to be updated as they close at 12am and not 2am. We have been a couple of times and the food is amazing! They have crawfish during the season, the giant pretzel is sooooo soft and warm, brisket sliders are the bomb, the magnolia fries are heaven sent and the fried jalapeño are a secret gem!! The only thing I didn't like was that after I think 10 they switch to a limited late night menu. The late night menu is wings, different French fry baskets, desserts and of course the giant pretzel. Kimberly forced a smile on her face and mumbled when talking to me. She felt comfortable enough to reach over close to my partner and get the empty cup. I went there yesterday and for the last two nights it's been bothering me that I haven't posted and the pro and cons to this place. My pros: Attentive bartender. Lots of business was sitting outside since the day was nice. Walking in the bar is directly in front with bar stools that have backs. To the right was dining room seating but at 2 in the afternoon it was crowded. Tables were empty but dirty with dishes. So we headed to the left with the bar top tables and stools. After I sat down realized I could not sit on this stool for long so we moved to the bar and told the server. I requested an ice tea with lemon, hubby a coke. Now the server brought the drinks to the bar but now this is the part that has plagued me for two nights, she grabbed a lemon wedge out of the condiment tray and laid it on a napkin in front of me. Not with her barehand did she do that you ask!!?!! YES!! With her barehand. Again I'm telling you I wasn't real with it but later that night it came back to my mind and hit me! We ordered take out online, a rare Texas Burger, Sliders, and Onion Rings. FYI, we're about 5 minutes away, so we weren't delayed picking up the order, but when we got there, everything was stone cold. The rare burgers were cooked hard and gray ... well done and not juicy. The Onion Rings were crunchy, but cold. They could have been warmed up, but the burgers were such a disappointment we didn't bother. From bad to worse, the web site would not let me complete the online order without tipping. Tipping with no table service? Ugh. I'll repost my review once we get to eat in, but for take out ... This is a cool place to go for happy hour drinks and large pretzel. The chicken fried chicken is also a very good option. They have a menu with a large variety of options. Wasn't a fan of the beef egg rolls but they could be a pleaser if you like that sort of thing. I missed the vegetables. I finally joined the crawfish hype. I was one of those people who said "all that work for so little reward" Well attitude has been shifted. I had a blast eating crawfish at Woodsons. I got a pound with sausage and of course potatoes. They were seasoned great spicy but not crazy spicy and I could taste the herbs they used in their boil when I sucked the juice out the head. Oh and side note... my friend Ramon ordered his with the ravioli and wow..it didn't disappoint . The key is you get the ravioli add a tiny piece of sausage and your crawfish fold like a taco and dip in the butter....so good! (thanks for the tip Ramon) It was an all around great experience and I would definitely go back for more crawfish. Arrived around 8pm on Friday and was pretty busy. We were seated quickly and greeted promptly. Friendly waitress (Mina) and attentive the entire time. Checked on us several times and didn't have to ask for a refill. Even though we have been here before I am always amazed bu the humongous pretzel. It is absolutely deeeelish! So fresh and hot, buttery, perfect amount of salt.. yes, yes and yessssss. The blueberry smash was good, slightly sweet with fresh mint and blueberries inside. The food came out hot and fresh. Everything was tasty...no complaints at all. I love the fresh jalapeños they put on the smokehouse sandwich...my mouth was on FIRE...will absolutely be back again. read more
