Vostok Construction - Timeless Beautiful Bathroom Remodel

Vostok Construction

(60 reviews)

Is it a daunting task to find a professional, reliable and trustworthy contractor to do the work…read moreyou are paying them to do? More often than not we have found ourselves in this predicament, but look no more. We found Vostok Construction and they were more than accommodating and professional all the way to completion for our bathroom conversion remodel. They are certified to and did install the Hydro-blok shower system. They aimed to please all the way. And that they did. A flush shower tiled floor was installed and it is perfectly sloped for the water to drain down properly. We are more than pleased with the work and talent that showed up at our home to make our dream come true. The team is incredible and it is obvious they want to meet the customer's needs for the project. Eric is such a gentleman and a great listener. He follows through on everything! His tile and Hydro-blok team follow is his footsteps for professionalism......Alex, Tim, Ivan, and Igor (we hope we didn't leave anyone out) are phenomenal. They arrived as scheduled first thing in the AM and worked hard all day long. They would go over the day's work seeking our approval. I sought out 4 estimates from local contractors and we are so happy to have chosen Vostok. It is one of the best decisions we've made when it comes to home construction/remodel. If we had to do it all over again we wouldn't change anything. Based on our experience, all we can say is the company is outstanding and one can rest assured all will be done well and timely. Thank you again Eric and your team for the wonderful work done in our home! We will continue to appreciate and remember all your hard work to do your very best on our beautiful bathroom. We are forever grateful!!!

We've remodeled a kitchen before with a company that wasn't fantastic, so having Vostok…read moreconstruction be so great was amazing. We chose Vostok Construction to remodel our primary bathroom/bedroom that had lots of water damage. We knew that it would be a big job (needed new subfloor and floor joists and studs in one wall) and they took care of us. They were very careful to make sure their mess didn't get anywhere outside of the job site, took their time to make the finishes look just right, and were courteous and kind to myself and my kids. And Igor's tiling is absolutely stunning. I have high standards for finishes and I cannot find a flaw in our tile--he's that good. Eric and Alex were super helpful with seeing our vision and explaining what would be cost effective but also functional. I never felt like either of them pushed me to do something I didn't want (and as a people pleaser, that's hard!). The job had a couple of rough spots (bad plumbing from the previous contractor, and a paint color mixup etc.) but each time there was an issue, the communication was clear and they let us know what needed to be done. They were patient when we realized our faucets and other metal finishes weren't matching and did their best to help us find what we needed. They finished the job in the timeframe they quoted us even with some hiccups along the way. I would 100% recommend Vostok Construction (and I have to some friends!). I hope to use them again in the near future for some more bathrooms and a living room overhaul.

Central Builders - Hardwood flooring installation/ painting

Central builders are the best. We used them for a very small project 2 years ago, and decided to…read moreuse them on an entire downstairs demo and remodel. We blew out a wall, doubled the kitchen size, all new flooring, cabinets, windows, countertops, backsplash, ceiling beams, you name it. Vic and his team were professional throughout, easy to work with, respectful, open minded to what we wanted and did their absolute best to make our vision come true, and they nailed it. Very reasonable and most importantly in this type of process, trustworthy. Highly recommend them if you're looking for anytime similar to what we did.

I apologize now for what may be a lengthy review. I contacted Central Builders for several projects…read more- new fencing for a 1/2 acre lot, a new deck, a new front walkway and a sump pump to stop our garage from flooding. The fencing bid was in line with the others I received but two of my three neighbors are refusing to replace the downed fences so that project did not move forward. I will write a second review for the new walkway and sump pump because this deck review is pretty long! The deck project - I had already had someone remove the old deck so Vic and his crew were setting the foundation and installing a new Trex deck. Vic went the extra mile in meeting my requests and multiple rebids and change requests before even getting the job. Excellent customer service before I was a customer. I had three other bids that were all at a much higher cost. After going to the lumber yard to see samples of the Trex boards and to select my color, I decided to upgrade the materials to the best and highest Trex boards. I cannot for the life of me figure out why the other bidders were so high. They bid the 2nd to lowest level Trex boards and then they nearly doubled the supply cost. Central Builders had a very reasonable mark up on the boards, especially considering they had to order it, pick it up and deliver it all to my location. The crew arrived on time every day. Kept the work area clean. Kept me informed throughout the process and started and finished when promised. They took extra care to make sure the deck was level and added an extra support for a very heavy plant pot that would be going in the rear corner. The job included adding LED lighting to the steps and accommodating my under house vents by cutting ventilation in to the deck supports. I had asked that the front of the deck be sealed in a way that would prevent skunks from getting under it. The crew not only added a wire mesh barrier under the facia board, they painted it black so it would blend in and not be obvious. And last but not least, in t he pictures, note the downspout to the deck. Vic altered and bought a proper end spout so we can attach a hose in the winter to redirect the water so we don't get moisture under the deck. Going the extra mile. Super happy with how this project went!!! I highly recommend Central Builders!

A+ Construction & Remodeling ADU Builders - ADU

I finished my ADU project with A+ Construction PRO a few months ago and wanted to wait a little…read morebefore writing a review because I wanted to see how everything settled in after actually living with it for a bit.I'm in my early 40s and bought my property years ago when this neighborhood looked very different than it does now. I had been thinking about building an ADU for a long time, partly for extra income and partly because I wanted flexibility later on for family. The process itself was definitely bigger than I originally imagined. Before this, I had never dealt with permits, site plans, utility connections or inspections before, so having Olga manage all of that was honestly a huge relief.I mainly worked with Ana during the planning side and Sergei handled a lot of the project coordination once construction started. The early phase honestly tested my patience the most. There was a lot of waiting in the beginning - approvals, revisions, paperwork, utility scheduling. At times it felt like we were talking about building more than actually building. Once construction started though, things became easier mentally because there was finally visible progress every week. Framing, roofing, stucco, windows... it slowly started looking like a real home instead of just an idea sitting on paper.I wanted something that matched the main property instead of one of those ultra modern backyard units that looks completely disconnected from the house. I'm really happy they kept the exterior simple and clean. The gray stucco, dark front door and small covered entry ended up fitting the property much better than I expected. There were still a few issues during construction. One inspection got delayed and there were some adjustments with drainage and grading after heavy rain, but nothing turned into a major disaster and the crew handled corrections without arguing about it.Now that everything is done, it honestly just feels like it belongs there. That's probably the biggest compliment I can give it.Overall I had a positive experience with A+ construction PRO. building an ADU is stressful no matter who you hire but I do feel like the final result was worth the process!

The display homes were nice to look at, but our little back yard Micro Home was a lot more work to finish than we initially anticipated. It's cute, isn't it? We went with A+ Construction & Remodeling. Even early on, the project felt to move slowly. After plans, then approved plans, and further revisions, the project just seemed to sit idle for extended periods of time. It was harder in the beginning, before construction actually started. But once it got going, it's easier to deal with because we can see that it's actually going to happen, that there's progress happening every week and Sergei, our construction manager, kept us in the loop throughout the project. There were a couple of bumps along the road, including a bit of unscheduled electrical work. It was not a perfect stay, but there were no major issues. Any problems we encountered were treated professionally without turning into arguments or finger pointing. Our new ADU is finally complete! Building it was not easy, very time consuming, and had many twists and turns. But in the end it was worth it.

I have done a lot of work over the years and am happy to say that if you live in this area, he is your guy. He was fair and honest from the get go. The price he gives you is the price you will pay. I never received any surprise "change orders". As contractors go, Omar was VERY open and communicative. No problems ever getting him or his crew on the phone. He had great suggestions on all things we discussed. Always seemed to know a lot about his work and various things people like. The project was a big one, and I am super happy with how fast it went. He even got started for us over Thanksgiving and Xmas, and his crew would show up on Saturday or Sunday sometimes to keep on working (which was fine with us!). There were no subcontractors involved... everything was through Noor Construction. If we had any minor issues that needed correcting, Omar would come and look at it and tell his crew what to do. We really appreciate the details, crown molding and trim was superbly done, and the tile was just amazing, we are very impressed with his team. I mean seriously anyone who has attempted to do crown molding in the past knows what I am talking about. For details if you've made it this far, our story: Where shall I start. I suppose we start with the idea: build a bedroom in the second floor space of our "great room" which has really tall ceilings... like 30 feet plus. So basically add a bedroom in the second story "empty space" above the first floor. Easy right? Well, after getting ghosted by several contractors, I finally called Omar. He informed he thought we were probably getting ghosted because the architect had told him that footings were needed to support this new bedroom which would be sort of like an island in the middle of the house. We live on a hill, so these support columns would have to go through the first floor, basement, and then under the house. This added to the cost, but we really wanted a bedroom in that space. Omar gave me a price. I told him no thanks, my wife and I thought well maybe we changed our mind as the cost came in higher with the footing work. After a few weeks, we talked it over, changed our minds. We really needed the bedroom. I called him, thinking "gosh he probably won't want our work". Omar came back, no change in price, same deal as before, he didn't even bat an eye, he was ready to go, and this was like 4 weeks later after I told him no. So yea, it was project that I was told was too much for people, everyone didn't want to go get permits or deal with the footings... Omar told us what to expect and stuck to the plan. He dealt with the County and the inspector always came and said even himself "these guys know what they are doing". We passed all inspections. Omar even was super flexible about adding things to the project as we went along, as you know I get ideas about what I might want, we added some carpeting and shelving, and additional tile work that he added at no additional cost to him. He really just knows what he is doing and is super on top of things. So go with Noor Construction if you have the chance, you won't regret it!
