We came in for my daughters wedding this weekend (10/19) from Texas ~ not knowing much about the area or this location, I did look at the reviews on the property ~ I will admit I was a bit nervous about what we were walking into ~ sight unseen situation. Once arriving I don't understand why this place has such negative reviews unless these individual's who left these crazy reviews are just "entitled" people who cannot enjoy the beauty around them ~ in that case find a HOTEL for your pampered butt. This place was absolutely amazing. Very quiet, too quiet that our ears were ringing LOL. Tina was very nice and helpful ~ answering all questions and helping us as much as possible. Yes, even Keith was pleasant to speak to the couple of times I needed to do it. We stayed in the Manor House, Servant House and also the Pond House ~ all WERE great and served its purpose. There was plenty of running areas outside for the young kids that travelled with us ~ and they enjoyed looking at the horses. I highly recommend this place for a nice romantic, simple, outdoorsy wedding. The views of the mountains were spectacular. I would take any negative reviews with a grain of salt. read more

I can't even express how much I love this place. My husband and I got married here in 2018 and Keith and Tina were amazing hosts - working with us, giving recommendations, and being as flexible as we needed. When we got married, we stayed in the Barn Apartment which was a cute 1 bedroom apartment. My husband and I have come back to stay in the Pond House several times now and have loved it every time. Spring Break 2021 - My first time staying in the Milker's cottage with my girl friends so that we could do some winery hopping and they all absolutely loved their time here. We also rented out the party deck area and there were several games, a fire pit, and small table but we couldn't stay out of the hot tub. I had reserved one of the glamping tents months in advance for a wedding I was coming in for from PA. The day of wedding, I called Keith to get information on how to check in and he put me in touch with Tina, the hostess who proceeded to tell me that there was a "mix up" in the reservation and they did not have a tent for us that night. She offered us a broken down tent with no AC and offered to "throw in a fan" to get us through (mind you, it was nearly 100* that day). The lack of professionalism was utterly appalling and ridiculous, leaving us scrambling to find a last minute hotel in a city we were not familiar with. Book at your own risk. read more

This was the perfect wedding venue for us! We searched for a beautiful venue with accommodations on site, and happened to stumble across Wolftrap. The farm was absolutely stunning, as well as everyone was so polite and welcoming. We held our ceremony at the Hilltop ceremony site with our reception in the Cox Mill Pavilion. The ceremony site was gorgeous, words cannot describe how beautiful it all ended up being. The pavilion was set up nicely, and the perfect space for our guests to enjoy the views, horses and firepit. We had a chunk of our families staying in various lodgings around the farm, and all reported back that the accommodations were well kept, comfy and plenty of space for everyone. It was so convenient to have people staying at the venue, and allowing us to enjoy the farm the whole weekend. This was the perfect wedding experience for us, we could not have asked for a better day. read more

Owner did not want to let us stay because I was "demanding and difficult" due to me asking normal questions....not an excessive amount of questions. Questions such as: is there a good restaurant around, how far of a drive is it to ______, do you offer a military discount, are my kids allowed to interact with the farm animals? Not only that he went on to say, "I am too old and have too much money to deal with you." He also went out of his way to inform me we were doing too much for a one night stay (2 days). No, we were not, we had a plan and needed a base camp. read more

We choose Wolftrap Farm for a three day stay in the Charlottesville area to view the great homes and visit wineries. I spoke with the owner Keith who suggested Baldy's Retreat for three couples he told us it was a New double wide. When we arrived what a shock. The pictures on the web site are very misleading. First thing my husband checked was the grill it was rotten. Called Tina the manager and she had it changed out. The next thing we noticed was how dirty it was. I sent Tina pictures of the oven, bugs, spiderwebs and she upgraded us to the Manor house. Stay at Baldy's at your own risk. Tina met us the next morning and helped us relocate to the Manor House which is sixty dollars more. She did not charge us. This place was cleaner than Baldy's. We also noticed pages torn out of the guest book we think they may have been negative reviews of the place. read more

The Pond House at Wolftrap Farm proved to be the perfect retreat for my wife and me in these challenging times. Its location provides tranquil beauty, on the shore of a pond nestled between a forest and a horse farm, set apart from the other buildings for privacy. The house itself offers excellent comfort - simple but well-furnished and well-provisioned. It has adequate cell coverage and wifi (although not fast enough for streaming), plus a TV that we didn't use. As Keith, the owner, predicted, we spent much of our time on the screened back porch overlooking the pond. Tina, the hostess, was very helpful but entirely unobtrusive. A real find! read more

Our experience with Wolftrap Farm for our recent wedding (July 2017) was nothing less than absolutely wonderful. We were planning a semi-destination wedding with the majority of our guests coming from out-of-town, and the farm was absolutely perfect. Our families and friends RAVED the entire weekend about how awesome the venue, farm, location, really everything was. Communication with Keith (owner) and Tina (manager) was fantastic and quick. The scenery is gorgeous. The rental homes and comfortable, really beautifully decorated, and all around spectacular. Our guests loved walking around after the ceremony and meeting the horses, checking out the sights, and eventually watching the gorgeous sunset. Really I cannot rave enough about the value, flexibility, and overall management of Wolftrap. My husband and I wish we could get married again and experience our perfect day at The Farm! read more

The Farm was absolutely gorgeous and I found it super cool to be amongst a working farm as well. We stayed for 3 nights for our elopement and it was better than what we could've imagined. Management is very hands off making you feel like you actually live there. The barn apartment was so cute and seems to be recently remodeled. read more
