Gorgeous views on a warm, spitting spring day.

Don't miss the loft. Bring some questions for your sweetheart and enjoy a good conversation over a delicious glass of wine. Warm and welcoming family business with several award winning wines. Some dry and some sweeter varieties - both great.

This place is great! Beautiful views! Very sweet and attentive workers! Will answer any question thrown their way! Makes you feel comfortable and at home feeling! They take good care of you! The wine is great and they have a great selection! Price is very reasonable and the wine slushies are to die for! Can't recommend this place enough! If ever in Orange Virginia, this is the place to be! 5 stars is not enough! I give it a 6 out of 5 stars! I will be back!

Truly cannot recommend Early Mountain enough! It is one of the most beautiful wineries I've…read morevisited- the tasting room reminds me of Crimson Lane or Barboursville- and definitely one of the more upscale options of the wide range of Virginia wineries. The wines are excellent and there are several tasting options you can choose- I believe there was a red flight, a white flight, and a "signature" option that had both. You also have the option to build your own flight, which I always love. The 2024 rosé is a standout, we picked up several bottles to bring home. We could not believe how good the food was- it was worth a trip in its own right! It's on the pricier side but it is clear why, the plates wouldn't be out of place at a fine dining restaurant. We also had the kindest server, Chelsie, who made our experience so special and memorable! She stopped by to chat several times, gave us great recommendations, and she could not have been nicer to me and my friends. We were lucky enough to attend our dear friends' wedding here and it was a spectacular wedding venue. The space is just beautiful and the catering was incredible- some of the best wedding food we've had by far. We liked it so much we came back to visit the tasting room the next day :) This is a perfect stop on the way to Charlottesville from the DMV and a gorgeous place to spend an afternoon.

The wine was delicious and the property is absolutely stunning both inside and out. Not sure if they were just having an off day or they thought we weren't gonna spend any $ there due to us having dogs/ not being dressed up at all but if it wasn't for the food/drinks/ aesthetics and we think was one of the managers coming to say hi to us I would have probably left less stars. - SpicyAivy

I had been to this vineyard once years ago and remember really loving the tasting we got and the views. We came back for some wine and to explore the ruins. We really wanted to sit outside and were told they weren't doing outside service and that we had to go to the barn corner for outdoor seating. We bought a bottle of their tasty and refreshing Sauvignon Blanc. It was way too loud at the outdoor seating by their barn, so we tried to sit on their library patio. Turns out they were still serving on the patio. This was a bit of an upsetting miscommunication, but the server was sweet and told us we could stay, but had to sit further down. I didn't like feeling like we weren't allowed to be somewhere so this slightly marred the experience. However, once we settled in, I really enjoyed reading with a glass of wine and pretty views. Exploring the ruins after was pretty fun too. I wish they had a little more history on a plaque nearby. There was a sign that just said it was the governor's home that burned down on Christmas day. Ignoring the weird seating, we had a great vineyard afternoon here.

The chocolate merlot infused truffles were a perfect accompaniment to the cab franc. All of the staff was informative and went above and beyond to make sure you had the perfect experience. They have a nice, open seating area with plenty of covered space. I highly recommend bringing your own snacks or food because there aren't many food options. This place is definitely pet-friendly, too. We saw many happy puppies running around and enjoying the day. As for the drinks, they offer standard flights, glasses, and bottles. We tried the XoXo, Gold Label, and a few of their red and white wines. Some of them had impressive flavors, although I think there is still room for improvement. The service was good, and the staff were friendly. However, my biggest issue and especially for the men, is that they only have one men's restroom. I honestly don't understand the concept. With so many visitors, they definitely need more restrooms for men. Otherwise, they might end up with some very unhappy customers! Overall, the atmosphere was relaxing, and it was nice to sit outside and enjoy the calm breeze. I would suggest turning the music down a little so people can enjoy some conversation. And, sorry to say, but the band wasn't exactly my favorite.

Stephen helped to plan a very well thought out and balanced wine tour for our party of four. He definitely optimized our time at the vineyards and had some great recommendations we hadn't thought of. Our driver Lew was brilliant. Very punctual (he picked us up from Wintergreen) and kept us on track throughout the day so that we never felt rushed at any of our stops. He was particularly helpful when our last stop was obviously very busy and recommended an alternative which turned out to be a far nicer setting with efficient and quick service (Afton). We will definitely use CVWTT again and will be recommending to all our friends and family!!! Thank you again!

We were fortunate enough to have Steven--the owner--drive us in a luxurious Cadillac Escalade. He was personable, fun, chatty, and a great driver. We made four winery stops plus a cidery on our six-hour tour. He opened doors, walked us in to locations, got us offers at most locations, carried any bags (wine), and offered us cold water. He also was always nearly driving up immediately upon exit. Awesome service! We were disappointed by our picnic lunch provided by our inn and at the next winery Steven had ordered us a cheese and meat plate + got us a resort credit . Seriously awesome service! Would 100 percent book this company again and request Steven!

The house has been redone and the decor inside is new and contemporary but still fits with the period of the older home. Rooms are beautiful, clean and well-kept and there was a Roku on the tv with wifi. The back door has a keypad lock so you can come and go as you please with ease and there was a welcome package with snacks, jam, and a handwritten welcome note. Location is great because, with ample parking in the back of the home, you can walk around the town to antique, explore and eat at one of a dozen or more restaurants. They don't do the traditional breakfast but had a small bar well-stocked with coffee, tea, bananas, fresh pastries, and juice and water. Enough for me! Usually I kind'a wanna go out and explore on my own anyway and the town has several nice places for brunch (Spoon and Spindle was my fav). Pat was great and communicative through email/text but wasn't hovering in the way some B&B owners are.
