While on a short vacation in South Lake Tahoe, we had dinner with some friends. This was my time dining at this location. I was very impressed with the decor of the restaurant, the owner did not spare on the interior design. As I walked to my table I was captivated by the amazing statues, lighting features and beautiful architecture. The bar is excellent, I ordered a glass of wine and was not disappointed. My waitress was friendly and gave us time to relax and did not interrupt my conversation with friends. The menu had many selections and prices very competitive. Talk about a letdown- they are still in their soft opening so there are a lot of kinks to work out. If you want the "vanderpump" service that you are expecting (for those prices) then you should wait to go. The location is perfect- right when you enter Harvey's from state line and it has a little shrine to LVP. It is a nice area and looks like they are going to do patio seating this summer We waited 2 hours for food- 40 minutes for drinks...that were wrong then another 30 minutes for them to be corrected and it was just a wreck. At one point, everyone was sitting around staring at each other realizing how upset every party was because it was just a waiting game. The food was SO EXCELLENT- from the goat cheese balls to the tacos to the burger and wagyu we were so happy with everything we ordered. If you exit the restaurant you must shuffle and excuse yourself through one of these two lines. You have a Reso? Doesn't matter - you're waiting - and don't approach the hostess stand- you'll be told to get back in line. I dare someone with authority to stand in one of these lines on a Saturday night - and just listen- listen to your guests.... They don't like this. People leaving or waiting - no one likes this. I also dare you to eat dinner at one of these 2 tops- very uncomfortable. Doesn't matter if it looks beautiful- the purpose is to actually eat at that table. We had a request for booth/bday celebration/romantic party of 2. System was down but they have a nice table for us .... Not true. By a door that leads outside - it's winter- the breeze that came in that door was ridiculous- the table itself was too tall, while chairs were too short. This is a theme at the restaurant- we were moved to another table- like a French bistro table. Chairs hard are concrete and table to low. Evan tried really hard to salvage the evening. But I understand they've only been open a week, so I'll give it a few more goes. Hostess was great. Our reservation was incorrect (2 instead of 4), but she immediately tried to accommodate which was much appreciated. The menus. They are HUGE in size! One menu can practically cover the entire table! I would pare them down by 40%. Not sure how many tables our server was covering, but service was pretty bad. Long waits between greeting, ordering, and closing out. Drinks: meh. Again I was expecting better. Kind of overboard on the rosemary (in my opinion) but again soft opening. Bunny Slope was ok - I didn't finish it. Everything dirty martini was decent. All the Peels had too much apple pulp. Food: Again left a lot to be desired. All of the plates came out lukewarm. Plates were warmer than the actual meal. caviar bites - I think it would be better served on a thinner sliced fried potato chip. As it was the potato overpowered the caviar. Goat cheese balls were ok. One of them was not fried properly, came out powdery when we cut into it. Pot pie was decent. May be better served in a lower vs deeper dish. Waygu was ok. I would prefer my steak to not be sliced for me. Ordered medium rare. Received medium. Plating seemed rushed. Red shrimp pasta: shrimp was dry, pasta dry, may need more salt. Shrimp tacos: these were good. We didn't bother with dessert since we weren't impressed with the meal and it probably would have taken our waiter 20 minutes to take the order and another 20 to serve it. $400 for 4 people. About average for a nice dinner but if quality continues like this, I would take my business elsewhere. I'm hoping when we come back next month, they'll have ironed out the kinks. read more

Interesting decision to serve filet and prime rib with frozen French fries. Hostess was rude. Server was almost too honest. She didn't let someone order the chicken because "it's the worst thing on the menu" . All of the food and drinks were great but the French fries cheapened the whole experience. We randomly stopped at Wolf by Vanderpump on the way back to our Airbnb and we are so glad we did. Everything about this restaurant exceeded our expectations, from the ambiance to the food to the outstanding service. We started with the lobster ceviche crisps and the goat cheese balls. The lobster ceviche was refreshing and my favorite starter. My husband loved the goat cheese balls, which had a rich, gamey flavor that true cheese lovers will definitely appreciate. For our main, we had the prawn pasta, and let me just say this was the best pasta I've ever had. Perfectly cooked, beautifully seasoned, and packed with flavor. The service was exceptional attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable and the staff made us feel genuinely welcomed. She had amazing drink recommendations and walked us through all options to help find something everyone in the party would like! When it came to food options for the table we ordered the famous goat cheese balls, wolf bread, smoked bourbon boneless wings, and the ahi tartare tostadas. All which were delicious and had no complaints! I am gluten free and Hilary walked me through the menu on what was safe to eat/order. The Smoked bourbon boneless wings were GF and absolutely amazing! They had great flavor, sauce was tangy with a kick! I ordered the Dijon & Herb Brick Chicken as my main meal, GF of course (the potatoes were subbed with roasted potatoes). However, others in the party ordered the same chicken entree but regular. The food runner had a less than enthusiastic attitude. When served my meal I asked him to confirm the place he gave me was gluten free.. in which he replied "I'm not sure. I have no idea" in an annoyed tone and walked away. I'm OCD with ordering and ensuring I'm not going to get sick with my meal so patiently waited for our server to return to verify. She verified the meal the gentleman set down in front of me was NOT gluten free. Overall had a great experience and will be back! He said they were hard to find, but brought them about 5 mins later. By the time we got to eat them, they were cold. I ordered the Farmers Market Cavatelli, as did my daughter. My fiance got the fish and chips. We were all really disappointed. The fish and chips were average. Not bad hot not great. The Cavatelli was not seasoned properly, and was starchy and chewy. Neither my daughter or I took more than 2-3 bites before deciding the night would definitely not be about the food. The designer, however, saved the day. We loved the decor and the vibrant energy that flowed throughout the restaurant. I was also brought a lovely birthday desert which was fun and sweet. It took about 20 mins to get that check after we were done. Just not much attention payed to us, which was to bad. I am local but definitely do not see myself going back. Ate here this past weekend with my wife. The overly large menus match the inflated prices for average food. They want to be upscale/ fine dining but miss that mark by a long shot. The drinks were quite good, but very expensive for what you get. We tried the Ahi Tostada (best thing we had), a burger and fish and chips. The entrees were "okay" at best. When my burger was brought to the table, the employee who dropped it off set it on the table and proceeded to push it in front of me and pushed my silverware to the opposite side of the table in the process (really not sure why it couldn't have been set down in front of me) the bus boy filling water was extremely polite and attentive to our glasses, but spilled a few drops of water on the table each time. For my drink I had a berry concoction. It tasted like Sangria. It was delicious. For my entree, I ordered the filet mignon. That was so delicious! The filet mignon was so tender. It melted like butter. It came with a medley of vegetables that were seasoned to perfection. It also came with fries. Although the fries were good, I wish I had the option to get mashed potatoes or something else. My husband ordered the NY strip and he said it was good. For dessert I ordered a chocolate cake. It was rich. I loved every bite. The waitress also comped us a banana Foster's dessert when she found out it was our anniversary. She was super sweet. The service was 10/10. Our drinks arrived and were fine, our food came out shortly after and unfortunately my Wagyu Ragu did not come out hot, and was not as flavorful as a typical Ragu. They did not offer any dessert or birthday celebration specials, although the table directly in front of us received one.
