The hours on their FB page aren't accurate. I went yesterday to their truck at Kirby ice house. I was there at 2:04pm and the truck kept driving back and forth from one side of the parking lot to the other, putting water into the truck via a hose, cleaning, prepping the truck. Their recent FB posts indicate the truck at this location is supposed to open at 2pm. I take that to mean that they're open, ready to go, take orders, cook, serve, etc at that time. Nope! I waited patiently in my car till 2:25pm before getting off to go see what was going on. The man inside the truck said it would be another 20-30 min.... uh that puts their open time close to 3pm. Not a problem, but then that's the time that should be advertised on their FB page! Also, I live about 8 miles away but happened to be in the area running errands. My mom was with me and is handicapped and sometimes suffers from low blood sugar. I myself practice IF and usually go about 20-24hrs at a time with no food. But when its time to break my fast its time! I even tried to see if ordering online for pick up would change the time the food would be ready. Nope, that was NOT accurate either. It claimed the order would be ready after 2:20. However, if the truck wasn't even going to be ready to open till close to 3pm and someone showed up at 230 to pick up their order then that's a problem. The pork belly fried rice (with Kim chi and a fried egg) was seriously one of the best things I've ever eaten and they didn't skimp on the pork belly! I'm on a food truck crave lately and am always finding new food trucks to try out. My boyfriend decided to go on a food truck adventure with me and we decided on this place. They were located next to third coast volleyball where people can go and play volleyball in the open on sand with friends. The location is nice if you're into some active play and when you're hungry you could stop at wokker tx ranger and grab some bites to eat. It is a very convenient location if you're in the area, but if you're not then it can be a far drive. There are plenty of parking spaces around the area. You don't have to walk very far to get to the truck, but be careful walking in the grass. There are ant piles everywhere and these ants mean business! PORK BELLY FRIED RICE The fried rice wasn't bad. It was a very big portion and I couldn't finish it all. The fried rice had a sweet flavor to it, which was a bit odd because I've never associated fried rice with sweetness. It had a taste of fishiness as well.. like they cooked the rice with kimchi or something.The pork belly added some fatness and the kimchi was tangy, but not too sour. The biggest problem I had with the fried rice was that the portion was off. There was a lot of rice, but the ratio of meat to rice was off. There was probably about 5 pieces of pork belly and a little serving of kimchi. The egg was cooked nicely though and added some rich flavor to the rice. BRISKET CURLY FRIES I was really excited to try the fries because it looked so good! It was really cheesy and the fries were crispy. The meat was really tender and seasoned well. Overall, the fries were pretty good and tasty, but they were so filling. It was a very large serving as well. My boyfriend and I couldn't even finish sharing one. I would come back to try out their pad thai and eggrolls. Service was good and friendly, but the wait was a bit long compared to other food trucks I've been to. If I was starving, I probably would've died waiting for my food. I'll visit again eventually, but for now.. I'm gonna continue my food truck adventure and try new places. read more

Perhaps there's nothing more emblematic of the past decade than the food truck. It's a product of the rise of the foodie, the mashup of culture, social-media driven marketing, and that weirdly defiant (but not really) relationship most of us have with corporate America. Food trucks gave us Korean-Mexican fusion, waffles topped with all sorts of amazingness, legitimate Southern BBQ, trucks dedicated to pork, trucks dedicated to bacon, Asian food, Latin food, American food and so, so much more- all from the convenience of a mobile kitchen-- situated close to your office building during weekday lunch hours, and at your local hangout during weekends. I don't know if I've come across a food truck that manages to kick butt on every level, better than Wokker. Came to Houston for Memorial Day weekend and found these guy's parked outside of Little Woodrow's in the Heights during the Cavs-Hawks game. After a late lunch-- umm two lunches-- I hadn't planned on eating a big dinner but I was intrigued at first by the name and then by the menu. Then I saw a customer walk away with kimchi fried rice and pork belly topped with a sunny side up egg and I knew I was done for. A group of friends and I pooled together our money and decided to order one of everything on the menu. We were expecting NY food truck portions. But Texans really take the "Everything's bigger in Texas" thing to heart. After my lunch of pho, my snack of banh mi and my second lunch of crawfish, I was almost bursting at the seams. And still I scarfed down all of this deliciousness. It's that good. The standouts for me were the pork belly fried rice, the shaken beef and the brisket curly fries. What's unique about Wokker is they're not really serving food truck food-- or a food truck version of restaurant food. Super friendly, and great customer service! I got to try this truck yesterday at the Winterlight festival, and when I saw that they had Brussels sprouts on the menu I was all in. The chefs were so nice and assured me that I would be in love with their good eats. They had a great menu of some nice Asian fusion meets Texas eats like ribs. I ordered the Brussels sprouts because I live for them and then to see they had bonito flakes and a signature sauce. Unfortunately I have had way better and many places. They were very greasy, bitter the sauce needed something maybe like plum sauce or tamarind to balance all the acidity. The Bonito flakes were good but didn't add much difference in texture, maybe raisins would be a nice addition. I wanted to love them so much because the guys are awesome, so if you guys are reading this and ever go to Austin, go to Uchiko and try the sprouts, hands down the best I have ever had in my life. Just got the brisket fries, and they're pretty good! Don't know if they're $9 good though, especially with how little brisket you actually get on the fries (lots of fat chunks too, ew). The workers are friendly and they get your order out pretty quick. The tamarind sauce and spicy mayo they put on it is pretty hot, but not to an overwhelming degree. It'll clear your sinuses, that's for sure. I feel like they could use more cheese and green onion, as I could barely taste either of them with all the sauce. I hit up Wokker Texas Ranger (first off, incredible name) at the Houston Food Park for the first time. They were out of their chicken fried chicken skewers so I ended up going with the brisket egg rolls and the brisket curly fries. The brisket egg rolls are out of this world and are basically about as amazing as they sound. Egg rolls stuffed with brisket served with a sweet and tangy sauce. The curly fries came with a generous helping of cheese, spicy mayo, tamarind sauce, and brisket. Also very good but I had to knock a star off because there should have been more brisket. The brisket is cut in cubes rather than strips so you don't get too much to accompany your fries. They have a lot of other interesting options so I'll be back! read more

Their food truck stopped by our office during lunch and of course today was the day I didn't bring anything with me...so I had to find something to eat. There were a few yummy things that I wanted to try but couldn't eat them all. Some of my co-workers however did order what seemed like one of everything. Stumbled upon this food truck at a school related event. There was another food truck but I decided to take a gamble with this place and it definitely paid off. I immediately knew what I wanted before I saw the menu because people were walking away with some of the best looking fries I've seen in a while. I played no games and ordered the brisket fries($9). It took about 8-10 minutes which wasn't bad because of the crowd and the fries came out fresh like a newborn. Plenty of brisket, cheese, spicy mayo and green onion. I tried this for my first time during the spring semester while the truck was at UH main campus. Pretty nice staff & great service. I just HAD to get the pork belly fried rice. I have not eaten pork belly ever since I was an adolescent in high school, so it was nice to savor all the tasty fat that I should not eat. The egg on the side was cooked just enough so that the yolk is still dripping when you stick a fork in there. The rice was good as well. I tried Wokker TX Ranger for the first time when it was at the UH Law School. I couldn't find the truck at first since it was at a spot that I personally don't think many students would pass. I decided to look one more time and I found it. When I went around noon on a Friday, it was only one other person which I thought was odd but menu students don't stay on campus on Fridays. I ordered the tamarind ribs. I thought it came with rice from the pics I had seen on yelp but it can't with curly fries which is fine for me. The ribs were tender and crispy topped with sesame seeds. The tamarind flavor did not overpower the flavor of the ribs. It was a good compliment. I didn't ask for ketchup for my fries.Overall, I like the tamarind ribs. Disclaimer: I only tried the brisket curly fries, nothing else. With that said I didn't think they were as fantastic as all the other reviews make them out to be. They were just curly fries. Not sure if fresh or frozen. Some brisket, cheese, onions sprinkled on top and spicy mayo. The amount of brisket on top is very very minimal, so I don't know if it's worth to pay $9 + tax for it. The brisket on top is cut into very small cubes, so it's hard to tell if they taste really great on their own or not since they're mixed in with the spicy mayo. If for some odd reason you're craving curly fries and this truck is close by, it could be worth a try especially with every other review raving about how out of this world the fries are... I probably should try other items before giving up on them, but I more than likely won't. The guy who took my order was very friendly and I thought the order was out at a very reasonable amount of time, probably 10 or 15 minutes and I had 3 people ahead of me. From start to finish, our experience at Wokker was enjoyable. We found them this time at Houston Food Park on 1311 Leeland. The food was perfect for a brisk winter evening: brisket egg rolls, Brussels sprouts, and pork belly fried rice. Our favorite was the order of brisket egg rolls, served with a side of sweet and sour sauce and a delicious Asian-style slaw. I enjoyed the texture of the tender brisket combined with the crispiness of the egg roll wrapper. The serving size of Brussels sprouts was generous; we received a heaping portion, and we were both pleasantly surprised by the flavor (hints of sweet with savory). And the pork belly fried rice hit the spot! Topped with a sunny side egg, the rice had pieces of crispy pork belly (succulent on the inside) and kimchi mixed in. Delicious. The guys with Wokker are warm and friendly, so be sure to stop by and grab a bite to eat! This was the only truck left at Karbach on a Saturday night - they open late, until Karbach closes at 9:30pm and then some. They were nice, the service was quick and the food was delicious! I ordered the ribs with the curly fries and the fries were crispy and seasoned well - the ribs were seasoned perfectly and delicious and definitely tender. I would definitely come to this truck again if I see it out and about and try some of the other selections (i.e. kimchi fried rice with pork belly).. drools! read more

I tried Wokker TX Ranger while at Kirbys Ice House for a Rockets viewing party. The major con of this food truck is that the menu isn't prominently displayed. The menu is a small picture of the food, with numbers in the corner of the picture. The pictures were placed right below the window where you place your order. With the pictures being so inconspicuous, coupled with the line being so long, when people would walk to the front of the line to see what they wanted to order, it would cause a lot of confusion on who was ordering and if people were trying to skip the line. Again, that was my main problem with my experience. Despite the line confusion and large crowd, the food came out surprisingly fast. I ordered the brisket fries and the chicken skewers. The brisket fires were amazing. The brisket was tender and well-seasoned. The fries were curly fries and incredibly crispy (I thought they would be soggy because there was a sauce on top). I can't say enough about the brisket fries, they were perfect and I would suggest them to anyone thinking of giving them a try. Now for the chicken skewers. The chicken skewers were just okay. The chicken wasn't seasoned and it was dry. Dipping the skewers in ranch helped, but you could still taste that something was missing. The batter the chicken was fried in was crispy but wasn't fried too hard, it was perfect. The curly fries served with the skewers were just as crispy and wonderful as the fires served with the brisket fries, so no complaints there. It's a really nice place. Vast selection of good beers, customer service was on point, lots of seating and lounging area. A friend and I ordered one item from the kitchen. It was called the wokker fries I believe. It had curly fries, brisket and cheese in it. Some random girl was eating my fries /: BECAUSE IT LOOKED SO GOOD! The fries were really good though. The only negative I think some might have issue with is the parking. I don't mind walking at all, so no biggie. **edit** I tried the: Akaushi Burger (4/5) akaushi beef I had at other restaraunts usually had more fat content. I would get it again without the veggies. I felt like the veggies they used downgraded the burger. It was really soft tomatoes and light colored lettuce I think. (Something like arugala would definitely take the burger to another level). The other toppings and meat seasoning were A+ almost on the saltier side, but I like that. Wokker Fries (5/5) takes 2-3 people to finish. Eggrolls (3/5) good flavor and crunch but not the type of eggroll I prefer or would recommend to friends to try before having the other items first. I really wanted to try the pork belly fried rice but I don't really like pork belly and I didn't want to bother with the substitution (or the possible price change). Was in the heights area thinking about going to get some food most likely at liberty kitchen but this food truck caught my eye. Decided I'll get an appetizer or something small here then go eat a real dinner. Plans unraveled once I saw the menu. Pulled up. Looked at the menus. Ordered corn dumplings, egg rolls, and the chicken skewers. Out of chicken skewers, damn. Im the type that feels gipped if I'm not getting meat in a food item but the GF persuaded me to get Brussels sprouts. Food came out and it was a lot better then expected. I've had the other asiany food trucks but I just don't enjoy them anymore but the 3 things we ordered were amazing, flavorful and savory. Out of those surprisingly the Brussels were my favorite but the egg rolls were great as well, good idea, better execution.
