Delicious & fresh food, best Sushi I had so far in LA. A bit pricey and sometimes lacking good service, but the food maks up for it. The spicy tuna rolls & the popcorn shrimp are my favorites, and they are actually one of the few restaurants where they serve chicken hearts (ignore the name & give it a try). read more

Definitely solid sushi, if a bit overpriced. The atmosphere is a little trendy for my taste, but I love the more adventurous rolls and drinks that they offer. For a sushi-novice, it's great to have those choices. read more

My first time to Wokcano. Went with my wife & daughter and a friend. Ambiance was classy. Food was flavorful & fresh (we ordered too much!!) Service was spectacular! Joyce (and Katie) were our servers. Joyce was upbeat & professional and Katie was a perfect complement to the team. Jeff was the manager on duty. He stopped by & we chatted for a bit, which was nice, but I mention him because restaurants like Burbank's Wokcano don't happen by accident. read more

Wow!! Amazing service. Excellent food! Personable manager that we now know as Mr. Fantastic! Go here for a great evening!

Not my favorite place for sushi. Their rolls are too small, I've honestly had better. In other cases their salads, calamari, etc. is decent. Not bad for a date, it is a nice place to go, their service is good. So remember, anything but sushi! read more

Best part about this place is that they're open till 2:00am!! Out with friends and at 1:00am started craving sushi, searched yelp and to my surprise found this place so we went. The sushi was good the big bowl of miso soup was GREAT and the service wasn't bad.. Wouldn't go here for regular sushi, but when I get the late night cravings ill definitely go back read more

The food was so bad, nasty and smelled like wet sucks. Our waitress saw we didn't eat anything she would not even stop by and ask if everything is ok. We had to ask for her. Do not even try it. read more

Ehhhh... food was ok. Both of our meals were DROWNING in sauce though (not good). Kind of expensive also. $50 for 2 at an Asian place? Rice is extra charge?!? Do you know how cheap rice is?? If I lived here I would probably never go back... read more

If you're looking for quality sushi, beef, or chicken this is the place. I come here a few times a week for a post workout meal mainly because the staff is unbelievable and the food is great. Every server, bartender and manager is always in a good mood and is very welcoming. Late night happy hour is a huge plus, as well as all day happy hour on Sunday's and Monday's. I'd like to especially thank two managers in particular, G and Jeff for simply being awesome, and always valuing my business. You two are the reason that will always keep my friends and I coming back. read more

Terrible experience. I ordered 2 entrees (chicken fried rice and orange chicken) and recited my number twice to the woman on the phone. She said it would take an HOUR! (this was one of the only places open at 10:30pm on a Thursday night, so I wasn't complaining). An hour-and-a-half passes...where is my food? They tell me the drive couldn't find me...I live 2 miles from this place. Finally the driver shows up as I wait outside my apt complex. He tells me he called me a zillion times and shows me the receipt. They messed up my number even though I made sure they had it correct when I called. Then I looked at the cost -- $40 BUCKS...FOR TWO CHINESE FOOD ENTREES. I could have got a steak dinner for the same price and less hassle. The food was horrible as I got sick with food poisoning the next day. Waste of my time, money and health. I will never order here again. read more

Food and service was good. Pepper steak with onions was tasty. I usually wouldnt eat here as first choice but this time was pretty good.

We ordered for delivery, the food came really fast and it was great! We had the crazy fried rice, veggie chow mein, garlic string beans and veggie tempura - cant say anything bad about it :) read more

I love Wokcano but I love the backhouse even more! The backhouse is a small but lively area attached to the regular Wokcano. They have an amazing happy hour with great deals and drinks, When I crave Wokcano's fabulous Crispy Brussels sprouts or spicy tuna rolls I order delivery. My first delivery order was kind of a mess but the manager Jeff was so amazing! I have never ever come across another manager so thorough and compassionate. Not only was he apologetic but definitely did everything in his power to correct the situation. Wokcano was already one of my favorite happy hour spots but thanks to the manager there they are now one of my regular delivery spots. Keep up the great customer service Wokcano! read more

I have been ordering from this place for years. Today (Thursday) as usual I ordered Mongolian beef but it was not what i expected. I have never eaten anything like this before. The meat melts before it touches your mouth this was the best that I have eaten. This was amazing I did not stop until I ate everything. The service greatly improved but the food is amazing. Special THANK YOU to the chef. read more

I love Wokcano! We usually go during their happy hour (after 10pm or on Sunday or Monday's because they have happy hour all day). I have tried a lot of different menu items and they are all very good! I'd recommend the crazy fried rice, spicy tuna on crispy rice, mustard popcorn shrimp, the skewers from the backhouse, and the baked crab hand roll. There's more but but seriously almost everything that I've tried is delicious! Go during happy hour and sit in the bar area. Sometimes they get busy so be patient but the staff has always been nice. I always take people that visit me here. read more

Not good at all. Pot stickers tasted like they were frozen out of a bag. Very mushy. Szechuan Spicy Chicken was very bad. Chicken had a very funny taste. Won't ever be back. read more

After spending the last 24 hours suffering from food poisoning and the only thing I have eaten in the last 3 days was Wokano, I can only say don't eat there. It is not worth the pain. Also the service wasn't very good either. read more

Im in the industry...and I know a lot about smoke and mirrors. Nice atmosphere (asian/fusion) but the food is horrible. The sushi rolls are small and the fusion asian food's luke warm when it arrives at the table...and the place wasn't even packed for dinner. Thanks to Warner's expense account. This place has got nothing on PF Changs or Sushi Roku. Don't bother parking or walking in! read more

Yummy! I love this place. Wish I had found it sooner! The decor is nice, but there never seems to be a crowd which makes me feel odd when eating there unless I'm in a booth. I'm surprised it's not more crowded because the sushi is very good and the service is terrific! read more

I came in today with my friend. The food was a little late, and our sever was busy. She was nice and was handling the situation fine. The manager "rich" or "ron" came over and asked if we were treated with respect? We said yes and that we were enjoying the experience. That poor girl must have gotten yelled at b/c she came back in tears Then the manager just stared at us for a while, I couldn't finish my sushi. That guy really creeped us out. We had a great time except for that. Watch out for that strange old guy! Other than that its fun kinda. yuck.... read more

I go to this place all the time and have always had great food and great service. I usually get waited on by Diana who is wonderful and remembers my husband and I every time. The last time I was in there, I sat in the cocktail area and had Dani as a server. I was nervous because I had not seen her in the restaurant before and I go there fairly often. However, Dani immediately eliminated any fears I had! She was totally on top of her game and made sure my friends and I had everything we needed. Not a single one of us ever had to ask for a water refill because Dani always had it ready. It was a great night! yummm! read more

Ask for Jessie! She's the best server. Happy hour is great!

LOVE this place, everything here is so good. The happy hour food is fantastic. The deco and the lay out it nice and the service is always quick. The sushi it always fresh and yummy. read more

Food is always on point, did not get a full 5 because of the service, it could get better. Refilling my drink should not take 20 min

to be my first visit, the service is bad , terrible food , sushi disgusting ugly everything is here not recommend coming

I love this place! They have a great happy hour in the bar section. This is a self seating section with booths, high top tables and bar stools at the bar. Happy Hour is all day on Sunday which is nice. They also have a late night Happy Hour starting at 10:00 pm. Staff is always friendly and the kitchen is quick. I personally like their Spicy Tuna on crispy rice and the Chicken Wings. They have big plates and small plates as well. If you want something more intimate you may want to have the host sit you at a table in the dining room. This is a great place and I go there over and over! read more

We were here for a happy hour and the HH food was good and cheap. The IPA beer gave me a headache and so I would avoid it. Staff was good though they were short staffed that evening. Give them a try if you can. Ambience and location is good. There is free parking in structure behind. read more

DINERS BEWARE: Just as a hair pulled out of a mouthful of food, or a table situated too close to the kitchen, oftentimes a single element has the power to ruin an entire dining experience. This was the case last Thursday at Wokcano in Burbank. After enjoying a lovely meal with friends, lingering over drinks and desserts, our evening was called to a complete halt by the HOST (J. Dang) who asked us to promptly leave our reserved table. What was our crime, we asked. "Someone else has reserved this table." As we looked around the nearly deserted restaurant, astonishment jarred us into submission and we began to go. But as the last few of us trickled out the door, a thought struck me as cold water, "Hadn't WE reserved OUR table? There wasn't a time limit. Out money is just as green as the next party's, and in this economy, it becomes even more significant that as mothers we have had to arrange childcare in order to enjoy the time out." Now the enjoyment of that evening is lost, it puddles in the ice of our abandoned drinks, its stained the table cloth that was whisked away the second we stood from the table. But unlike the hair pulled from the mouth, or the noises from the kitchen that can blare out good conversation, this HOST has marred our experience beyond repair - WILL NOT RETURN! read more

I went to this restaurant Saturday 11/12 night. I ordered 2 drinks (each drink costing $13) and paid $28.28 with my debit card. I checked my bank account Sunday 11/13 and found that Wokcano not only charged my debit card the $28.28 but also charged my account a whopping $473! I called the restaurant immediately and had the bartender laugh over the phone about my situation. I called back and finally talked to a manager and explained what happened. He said he would call his "tech guy" and would get back to me. He called me back and told me that he needed some information from me. I provided him w/all of my information and he promised that the "tech guy" would take care of this transaction. He told me he would call me back when this happened. A few hours later and I still hadn't heard from him so I called the restaurant again. This time the manager said I needed to come to the restaurant to show proof that $473 had been taken out of my bank account. I went to the restaurant, printed my bank statement and still was no closer to getting this issue resolved. He said he would talk to "corporate" and get this issue resolved by Mon 11/14 morning. I received no phone call this morning and when I called the restaurant again, I talked to another manager. This manager was a woman and told me that I needed to be "patient" and "this happens all the time." I told her I couldn't be patient when almost $500 of my money is missing because of her restaurant's mistake. I even asked her how this even happened but she couldn't give me an answer. I told her to call corporate and find out how they're going to fix this issue and she said "they would just say the same thing I told you and you need talk to your bank about it." I said this is not an issue with my bank but with your restaurant so YOU need to fix it since I did nothing wrong. She never called me back after she talked to corporate and finally I called her again. She said that corporate already voided the transaction and I shouldn't worry about it anymore. I almost lost it since losing $500 is not something you "shouldn't worry about anymore." It was the WORST service ever and I still haven't had this issue resolved! You should NEVER go to this restaurant because you never know what they'll end up charging you! read more

Terrible. It was our first visit and we will never return. We ordered fried rice, noodles and grilled chicken. It took almost 40 minutes to get our food, and it no one in our party liked it. The manager stopped by to ask if we enjoyed it and I told him that it wasn't at all what we were expecting. He immediately cleared the table and walked off. Eventually the waitress came back to the table and said he offered to comp us desserts. Since none of us had actually eaten dinner yet, we declined dessert. She then took another 5 minutes to bring the bill, which totalled $60. I questioned the amount and she said that the manager declined to give any kind of discount. Don't get me wrong, I fully believe in paying for what I order, but with the extremely slow service and the fact that none of us had actually eaten more than one bite of our food, $60 was a little hard to accept. Overally it was a very poor experience. read more

food is great, service sucks!! the spicy tuna tornado dip does come with doritos, and i know it sounds weird, but its really good. the braised string beans are yummers....orange chicken, walnut shrimp. i and giving this place a 5 star based on their chinese food, not sushi. their sushi is okay, depends on what you order. read more

surprisingly the food is pretty good here. usually with a lame name like wockano, i would think the food with be very mediocre.

My husband and I went to their new bar/yakitori lounge area for some small plates and Happy Hour. The service was terrible. Our waiter was more interested in chatting it up with other staff on their break than helping us. This Yakitori area seemed more to be an added breakroom for the employees rather than a restaurant form the looks of the staff to guests. Four guests, 5 staff members on break chatting.. We were at first excited to order their skewers which were only $1.50 each, but the tiny pieces of meat, dry and flavorless, made paying $1.50 seem like highway robbery. Our glasses were never refilled, we ordered two extra items part way through our happy hour that never came. When we told the waiter, he just said, "My Bad...the hostess was coming through here with your Tempura roll and skewers, but I forgot who it was for and told her to take it back. I guess I put it on someone else's bill." WHAT?! Someone else paid for two things we never even got and no one ever got? The food was below par, rather flavorless and an overall rip off for what started out a as a pretty and interesting bar area with, a well written menu and hopes of a nice time out. This restaurant delivered none of these promises. read more

the place is nice and clean, servers are polite. sushi delux, is however so so. experience all that around 10:45pm on a week day.

great food and service i would say better sushi then all other in the area it also has a good vibe

Wokcano is da bomb! I remember seeing a local commercial for them like 10 years ago and the name always stuck with me. My girlfriend lives in the Valley and said we should check out Burbank as a lot of new and cool restaurants opened up there. Low and behold was a Wokcano. Now to my major surprise, this spot was super modern, hip, great music and sooo much better than that old school commercial represented. Been there twice now in the last month and the service was amazing. Both servers (don't remember the first guy but Caleb was our waiter the second time round) were rock stars. Super nice, attentive, and got our orders 100% perfect (and that is no easy feat as I am very picky with how I want my food, certain things included/excluded, etc.) And as for the food quality - brilliant! Super tasty, portions were more than adequate and can't say enough good things about Wokcano. Met the General Manager whose name was G and he was also super cool and welcoming. Came by to make sure everything went well and this type of attention and service is not common these days. So...if you are looking for not only great food but a wonderful overall dining experience Wokcano is the place for you. Trust me, I will be back again soon! read more

On April 1st around 10 p.m. my family and I decided to go to Wokano and have dinner. We live close by and we go there every week and we take our friends there too. We have a couple of our favorite entrees that we usually order. One of them is the lobster plate and there is a manager there that usually substitutes the lobster for shrimp, but that night there was a different manager that didnt want to give us the shrimp. We told our waitress and she said that the other location does it but not this one. That upset us because we had it here a lot of times and they didnt want to accommodate us because I think they were a little busy they didnt want to do it. We finished our dinner we asked the waitress to give us the managers name and she came back saying they can't. The service was very bad that day, I think the manager should of came to our table and asked us what was wrong, but instead he was hiding and trying to avoid the situation. In this business the customer is always right the waitress shouldnt of came back telling us that we should go talk to the manager. It just was not professional. Anyways I am so upset I wont go back. They lost a good customer! read more

DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE OR ORDER ANYTHING FROM THEM!! AWFUL FOOD AND TERRIBLE MANAGER! Here's my experience: The girl who answered the phone was an idiot! Couldn't figure out how to take an order or answer any questions. After hearing her laugh about how awful she was at her job I just downsized my order to keep it simple. They said it would be 30-45 minutes. After 60 minutes I called back to ask where the order was. They said it left the kitchen 20 minutes ago. About 20 minutes later the food arrived. I paid the bill, tipped and then noticed the order was wrong. I called the restaurant and told them I got the wrong order and that it was 40 minutes late. The person who answered the phone ASKED ME WHAT I WANTED TO DO ABOUT IT??? He asked, "Did I want to speak with the manager?" Then the manager came on and I explained again that the order was very late and wrong. He too ASKED ME WHAT I WANTED TO DO ABOUT IT? I said I don't know you're the manager. He then said that he wouldn't do anything about it and hung up on me. HUNG UP! If this is their way of handling a problem and managing a restaurant I can only imagine what the kitchen must be like. I am throwing the food in the trash. Today's date is July 21, 2011 in case anyone at Wokcano wants to speak to the manager on duty. I will never go to this restaurant or order from this location again simply because this manager did not handle a simple incorrect order properly. read more

I have never felt more unwelcome in a restaurant by a hostess. Catelin's energy upon my arrival was insincere to my guest , myself and her colleges. I usually love Wokcano, I have been a regular customer for years I enjoy seeing Ling and his positive attitude and all the new friendly faces, keeps bringing me back. There are so many great employees to mention. Working in the industries I've brought many new faces to eat sushi. Today I brought the star from a Broadway show. It was my guests first time eating at Wokcano, the server Muniesh was great, the food came at an appropriate time and we enjoyed every bite especially the garlic edamame! However it didn't make up for the arrogant or condescending attitude Catelin gave a fellow employee. It was very inappropriate and troubling to hear. I was very disappointed on how she treated us after witnessing her behavior. I will be sure to inform corporate about these poor work ethics. I would highly recomend Wokcano On my next visit I would prefer a host that doesn't seem to be unhappy with her job. read more

My favorite place for happy hour! This specific location is my go to as well; I've been to the one in Hollywood and the service wasn't even half as good (mind you they weren't busy at all) and the food was just ehh. But anyway, this place is great - I've only ever been here during late night happy hour, but a variety of times (when I'm close to the area.) It's a pretty big restaurant - they have a bar with high tops and booths in the front, as well as a fine dining section, and if you walk towards the back there's a whole other 'seat yourself' section with another bar and outside patio seating. Both bars have a couple of TVs, a decent wine/beer/liquor selection, and comfortable seating. I usually prefer to sit outside on the patio (they have heaters too if it gets cold); it's got a nice ambience, and you can eat/drink with a view of the San Fernando Blvd in the heart of Burbank. Their happy hour menu is BOMB - anywhere from $3-$10 appetizers/sharebles/sushi. Some of my favorites are the crab wontons (they come out hot and fresh every time), their peacock roll, the garlic brussels sprouts, and their baked crab hand rolls. As far as the drinks, craft beer, sangria, house wine, well drinks and sake bombs are available at $5 each (not too bad in my opinion.) Service is great, but be patient as sometimes they only have 2 or 3 servers for late-night happy hour and they can get pretty busy. Last time I was there, the manager greeted my friend and I making sure we were satisfied, and even gave us his personal card and a discount card for each of us for our next visit, which was very much appreciated. Overall, great place to go if you want to have a nice sit down dinner with some family/friends OR if you're just looking to go out for a drink and some snacks. read more
