    Curry Chicken Combo was delicious
    Dean E.

As a recent transplant from NY/NJ and on the quest for some decent Chinese food in this area I think I finally found it. I've tried several places and looked in the Nexton area and found Wok 'n' roll. The owner is extremely friendly and courteous and took my order with ease. I ordered the curry chicken with the spring roll combo. It had a great amount of chicken, snow peas, bell peppers, and onions and came with a nice side of fried rice with a perfect amount of pork and onions mixed in. I have no complaints. It was delicious in every way and satisfied my craving for something a little spicy. It was not oily at all. My only complaint would be the parking which has nothing to do with the restaurant. For sure now that I know this place is here. I'll be coming back. Looking forward to trying many other dishes.

Had carry out from here a few years ago and remember it being good. I ordered chicken pancit and spring rolls. The spring rolls were super greasy and mushy. The pancit was bland and had hardly any vegetables. Will probably not be back

The food is bad ! Do not order wonton soup because is just water with yellow coloring food and the wontons are so thick that they are uncooked, the fried rice a little flavored and the fried wontons are disgusting! Kind of soaked on oil and again some yellowish food coloring Very disappointed! They give a bad name to the Chinese food

On my most recent visit I decided to order an appetizer only (Crab Rangoon's) they are usually filled with a delicious crab meat and creamy cheese type filling however after picking them up and getting them home, I realized that they were nothing more than empty fried wrappers. Each (wonton or egg roll type wrapper ) contained not even a half teaspoon of filling In each. Each Rangoon was literally empty, it was a total waste of money. I really like the management at this location, very pleasant, remembers me when I stop in, but this was very disappointing and a waste of money. I realize that food costs have gone up for every one but it's not ok for restaurants to charge full price but provide less than standard portion sizes. In the past there portions have been very generous I'm hoping this was just a fluke and not the new standard.

So here is it is the weekend and wanting to try someplace new for my Chinese fix... decided to go to Nexton and try Wok N Roll... I ordered my sons fave General Tso Chicken and I got Chicken and Broccoli with Crab Wontons... it's a bit more on the pricey side but we are here now. So we waited for about 20 min for our food. My son went in and grabbed it for me. Food was alright. Not much seasoning and the general tso was more spicy that my son was used to. Nothing too spectacular. I didn't really enjoy the crab wontons. But it's all good... would I go back... probably not my first pick but at least I can say I tried. Area was nice and clean which was a good thing.

Food was terrible. Sweet and sour chicken was frozen nuggets heated up with canned sauce. No pineapple, peppers or anything. Chicken fried rice was rice with a small amount of chicken. No eggs or vegetables. Not worth the money. Stay as far away as you can.

Old Li's is an outstanding authentic Asian restaurant. I loved it. No reservations required and plenty of tables. It's a very clean well ordered establishment. Also plenty of free parking right outside. The staff could not have been any better, prompt, attentive & very knowledgeable about the menu. The round table we sat had had a "lazy Susan" to facilitate the sharing of dishes. We ordered based on recommendations, personal taste & heat levels. The dishes were absolutely delicious. So good. I think the Peking Duck was the star of the show. If you are seeking Asian authenticity & phenomenal family service.. Old Li's in N. Charleston near Tanger outlet is your place to go. I tried Pagoda on the recommendation of a friend who grew up going to Pagoda in the 80s and 90s…read more The online menu looked good, and I was happy to see Cantonese boneless chicken on it, which is a dish I rarely see these days. I called in a takeout order on a Friday evening and the food was ready quickly and the staff was friendly. There is no dine in service, which was not a problem. The food was... not good. The egg drop soup was a good color, nice and dark yellow, but quite runny and just pretty bland. The pork egg foo young was fine, had lots of pork in it, but again, was bland. The sauce that usually comes with egg foo young should be a darker, glossy brown, but the sauce that came with this was a thick, colorless, flavorless breakfast looking gravy that was awful. The Cantonese boneless chicken was terrible as well, and for some reason was drowning in the bland, colorless gravy as well. The Pagoda fried rice hardly had any meat in it, and I understood this to be their house fried rice, which should have had several types of meat included. Even the egg rolls were bland. I definitely will not be returning, and the search for a new regular Chinese takeout spot continues...

I consider myself a bit of a broth snob--there's something special about the time it takes to create a good chicken stock. I decided to order a small wonton soup from their website, where it was listed at $2.75. What a deal, right? However, when my husband picked up the order, we were charged $3.90. Apparently, there's been a price change per their printed menu, which wasn't reflected with their online website--a small annoyance, but worth noting. If you're in search of a good soup broth, definitely another good restaurant to try. Now, onto the soup. The broth was actually quite good--not just plain yellow chicken broth but something with a bit more flavor. I'd possibly order it again. My main gripe is that a small soup came with only two wontons. Is this normal? Maybe it is, but I've been to other places in the Charleston-Summerville area that serve more wontons even in their small soups. While I might go back, I'd recommend asking ahead about the number of wontons if that's a dealbreaker for you. You may want to upgrade to a large if two wontons won't cut it. Overall, I'd say Pagoda is worth a shot, but manage your expectations for portion sizes.

We believe our search is over, and we declare Great Wall our new go-to spot. We walked up to the counter and the young man patiently took our order. We then sat down and noted most of the orders ready for take out were for rice and fried chicken. I became a little anxious, as our order seemed to drag on, and I wondered silently if we were set for another disappointment. We've been hoping to find a new restaurant before Christmas Day, as we've planned this as our yuletide meal this year, and we've been searching since Fortune Garden unexpectedly closed on New Years Day this year. Our order was finally called, we were granted our various sauces, we retrieved everything and headed home. We began unpacking everything from the brown paper bag and I noticed a couple of things immediately: our order was correct, the food was hot...but then, something else caught my eye. The egg foo young gravy. Now, if you're a connoisseur of the egg foo young, you've undoubtedly run across sub-par gravy: thick, lumpy, gray and not terribly inviting. This was not that gravy. The concoction was a dark brown, silky and smooth. The taste of egg foo young and gravy was heavenly. We then tried the house special fried rice and the egg rolls. Definitely closest to our beloved Fortune Garden. You should make Great Wall your new forever Chinese takeout restaurants. Maybe we'll see you there on Christmas!
