Initially, I'd give it three stars for food being plentiful and edible. One star marked off because I felt like my shoes were sticking to the carpet with each step I took. Hardwood floors or luxury vinyl plank might be a better bet for so many people lugging food and drink (and spillage!) to their respective seats. There's so much to choose from; stir-fried dishes, fruit and salads, seafood options, deep- fried options, finger-foods for the kids, hot tea, cold sodas, ice cream, pastries..... you'll definitely find something for everyone. read more

I wish I could give this place 0 stars. My boyfriend and I went today for crab Sunday. I have fond memories of eating crab here as a kid, but today I was disappointed. Worst experience at a buffet. I use to love this place. First off we were charged dinner price for a lunch menu. We were told dinner was in 10 minutes. We waited for an hour and the menu never changed. The soda was flat. I told three different servers and they all seemed to not care and made excuses about the machine acting funny. I then looked up.othwr reviews and realized this is an on going issue at this establishment. There was also an Asian guy that follows you around and pretends to be working but he is obviously spying on you. Half the food I tried was way overcooked! The worst was the shrimp. Snow crab legs and claws were served in a very sloppy gravy/liquid that made so messy to eat. The buffet tables were filthy. I had a very bad experience at this establishment last night. First, I had called earlier in the day asking how much the buffet was. I was told $16.95. When I showed up @ aprox. 7:45pm the lady charged me just under $24.00. I had never been there before & was not familiar with anything in the resteraunt, so I was a bit slow finding my way around effectively. I have been to The Great Wall Chinese Buffet on Fowler St. in Rhld. which is a much better place to eat. Not only is the food better, their prices are more reasonable, their crab leggs actually have meat on them, The ones last night I ended up eating more shell than crab meat. The food was cold for the most part, but the main issue was when the staff management started rushing me. They quickly put me on the spot to leave right at 8:35pm as I was the last customer in the resteraunt. I knew they closed at 9pm, so until then I was fairly relaxed, eating slolw, trying to enjoy the experience... At 8:40pm I was rudely asked if I would be eating anymore from, the buffet. I replied "yes," saying I would make one more trip for ice cream. I heard the dish lady speaking chinese to fellow employee's & management just around the corner, but in view;- then the words "ice Cream" in english as the group looked my way and all laughed as they looked at me. Now I felt insulted, hurried, & pist off at the notion of disrespect was obvious. At 8:45pm I was asked again if I would be eating anymore, I simply didn't acknowledge the question. Seconds later a full crew of employee's started tearing down the buffet, mopping the floors, etc. I shuffled across the wet floor to get a scoop of ice cream where I was met with whom must have been the owner. I didn't see the ice cream scooper's & as asked him where they were as he stood over me 2-5'ft away. He rolled his eyes to me & pointed at the wall where they sat. He walked away shaking his head side to side as though I was taking too long. I quickly put the ice cream on a cone instead of in a dish as I had planned. I went back to my table & my food had been taken by staff. It was 8:50pm and I just left. I was still hungary & felt cheated, disrespected, etc. i will never go back to that place, hope I can help others to NEVER, EVER, have to feel this way IN THE FUTURE... f*** them MF's! read more

A lot to say about this place. I went for lunch during the week and the price is $10.00 flat. The good...there's a HUGE selection. Almost overwhelming at first. There's sushi, more traditional style Chinese-American food, tons of desserts, and even American type foods (fries, potatoes, pizza, chicken tenders). I like variety so this was awesome. But the sushi was disappointing - can't expect much from buffet sushi that sits out all day. The Chinese food was actually good - but they let many dishes run out without refilling. i.e. Plain white rice. How can you not refill the rice?! Most basic. I hate the environment. Lots of loud kids and cluttered, empty tables not getting cleaned after people leave. As a restaurant overall, meh. Not sure how this place is open. Literally leave food outside in front of the doors for hours. Food is gross and very likely to give you a nice case of food poisoning. People have reported bugs in the food. I've seen first hand kids eating ice cream straight from the little trap cooler they have with cash and carry tubs (scoop it yourself). The absolute worst experience I have ever had. I seriously felt sick after taking a couple bits of food. As I was eating I look up and I see two hands reaching over me to grab the plates on the left side of me. Literally armpits in my face. All the dishes were dirty. Especially in the so called ice cream bar ‍. The worker came over and made a comment about the cones only being for kids not adults. He was just standing there until I walked away from the cones. When I asked where the bowls was to another younger employee he walked me towards the bowls and walked away and shook his head and laughed at me. My only reason for giving it 4 stars is because of the sushi here! Hence, the only reason why I would keep coming back. This is the only place in the TriCities where you can find a variety of sushi (mostly rolls, not sushi -sushi!) and the size of the rolls are normal rather than small. There is at least 8 different kinds, including pickled ginger and wasabi. Don't get me wrong, this is NOT anywhere near a Todai's but at least you get your monies worth when craving sushi. 2 Stars for the rest of the buffet, some of the dishes are okay, but this isn't your typical Chinese Buffet. Well, I work next to Wok King, and since it's just a short walk I head here for lunch... some times. They're reasonably priced, have a decent selection. Great I wouldn't take a trip out of my way to eat here, but since it's close I figure why not. There's a joke in our building that is something like... "The best part of the Wok King is the Wok-king away." Haha. To me, it's like hot dogs. I don't want to see how it's made, the only thing I care about is how it gets from the big plate to my mouth. With buffets, that's usually the scariest part. Not here. It's pretty clean, the restrooms are clean, the tables are clean, the floor is clean... Yeah. Pretty clean. Nothing exciting, nothing too bad. The service is pretty good. They come collect your plates pretty fast. Restocking the food is a little slower, but it comes out hot and fresh. Their ice cream selection is pretty fantastic. It's really good for kids, my daughter likes it. I can imagine it would be pretty good for an event with a lot a people. read more

Average Chinese (with some other cuisines represented) buffet. They seemed to have altered many of their dishes to cater to the large Latino crowd they get and you can often find jalapenos in your General Tso's and a bottle of hot sauce on your table. First off, I get the point that, when eating at a buffet with a low price, you would expect lower quality of the food. Compromise, right? But there's only so much I can take. Shall we break it down? Atmosphere: At first, this was a winning point for me. As I walked in through the doors, I got a good Chinese atmosphere. There were nice waist-high wall dividers with good art on them, lanterns hanging off the ceiling, paintings on the wall. But as I ate further into my meal, I noticed other things like bins full of dirty plates out in the open and cleaning supplies strewn about. When I'm going back and forth from the table to the buffet, I don't want to have to walk past everyone's dirty plates thrown into a giant pile. At least make an EFFORT to hide those things! Service: Best service I've ev.... Ok, no. Can't even finish THAT with a straight face. The service I got was literally non-existent. As in literally literally. The only time I interacted with any of the staff members was when I paid my money at the front counter to be allowed into the restaurant. After that, not a single person approached me at my table. Nobody came to ask how the meal was and if everything was alright or even to take my finished plates! I'd imagine a decent-sized party would have a huge mess of plates sitting on their tables cause no one ever comes by to pick them up! Only when you've finished and left will they FINALLY come by your table to clean up the mess. Cleanliness: Had it not been for one thing, I would've given this a pass. I've already mentioned the bins of dirty plates and the dirty plates they expect you to just keep at your table. At the beverage counter, they had a mess of trash begging to be taken away. But that would've been ok too. The table was relatively clean and the bathrooms were ok. But what makes this category AN AUTOMATIC FAILURE was the fact that when I went to pick up a clean plate to get some food, I instead picked up a greasy plate. It's like they rinsed off all the food chunks but forgot to actually wash it with soap. Gross! Pretty sad, cause that was the first plate I picked up, immediately curbing my appetite from the beginning. But that was a non-issue, really, considering.... Food: The food itself is extremely lackluster. The soaps were bland, the food was soggy, the noodles were overcooked, and the sushi had a not-so-fresh taste to it. Oh, but you get unlimited soda refills!!! Garlic bread was good too, but who goes to a Chinese buffet for garlic bread? Conclusion: I see potential, but with nothing to come forth from that potential, it's meaningless. I came in with no expectations of grandeur, and I still walked away disappointed because they didn't even live up to my expectations of basic STANDARDS for a Chinese restaurant.
