We were very worried that we might need a new transmission in our Honda Odyssey but it was just a simple repair which was done honestly and at a very fair price. Rob and Jerry checked it out promptly, and Rob called a couple of hours later to let me know it was a false alarm. Not only that, but he took the time to give me a detailed education about this car and transmission which will be extremely helpful in the future in deciding how long to keep this car on the road. Could not have been more informative! PLUS - he refused to take any money since he didn't actually need to do any repairs! Transmissions are not something I (or most people) know a lot about. If I was told it needed expensive repairs, I wouldn't have known any different. You can trust them!!! Jerry, Rob and crew are good people. They are competent, professional, prompt, reasonable and just plain nice. I was skeptical, so I wanted a second opinion. I called Jerry's and they explained the policy- bring it in early morning, give them time to look at it and we'll go from there. They called around lunch with good news- nothing wrong with the car! I was curious why I would be told that and the simple answer was, " they wanted to make some $$$ off of you, but your car is fine." I will only go here for transmission issues from now on. I called four other places and got prices between 2-3k less than this place quoted, this for a small simple motor rebuild, the car I have is an older little 2.0, year 2000, I do many of my own repairs and very knowledgeable about automotive work. I just don't do motors but know it's fairly easy work and motor to be worked on, also, I know motor work is easy prey for automotive repair (rate) rapists, sort of is no different than the prices of food at restaurants and supermarkets now, higher than ever, just because you can charge much more now, you can and will. It was right before Thanksgiving and they took care of my car issue in less that a week, meanwhile I took it to the dealer before hand and it took them a week to tell me what was wrong with my car, they also didn't fix the issue that I took it in for, but instead they took it upon themselves to do other work on the car that I didn't ask them to do and billed me for it, the total cost was about $1,800 dollars and my car was in the same condition that I brought it into them for. To make matter worse, they wanted to charge me $6.800 dollars to replace my transmissions on top of what they had already charge me. A total rip off the deader are especially when the warranty has expired. I had a choice as to where I wanted to take my vehicle for servicing, but I chose N & M Transmissions because it was local to where I live, and I'm glad I did. Not only did they display great technical knowledge about transmissions, but they impressed me with their honesty, a rare commodity with auto mechanics these days. They explained everything to me in great detail so that I knew everything they were doing or planning to do, so there were no surprises.
