Radi is a rare entity, an honest auto repair garage. He does honest work for an reasonable price. I will warn you that although he's honest the establishment could use a make over. However, he has helped my avoid costly repairs many times over the years. I trust him as do many others here. read more

(Supposedly, Radi is honest. I have heard this from several people). However, I will never know. I needed an inspection done quickly and he wasn't working that day. I ended up dealing with one of his colleagues, who stated that I needed a costly brake job, and he stated that my vehicle would not pass. Interestingly, however, he did not place a rejection sticker on the windshield. I had the inspection re-done at another shop the next day (and I will not say where). The car passed. read more

Always received great, prompt service here - no idea why there are other negative reviews. I was referred to Radi & family by friends about 7 years ago and take all our home/work vehicles here. Never had a problem and they were much less expensive than the multiple other places I have gone to. Note! however: if you are nice, you will get niceness back. My daughter had a flat tire right across the street. She drive over and asked if they could replace her tire, making it clear that she could leave the car and walk home...she wasn't asking for immediate service. She told me the person who "helped" her, was nasty and basically threw a temper tantrum because she asked him to check her car to see what size tire she might need, since she didn't know. He agreed to do the work, telling her he had ONE tire in stock. She didn't realize both tires should be replaced at the same time, and they didn't tell her they would order one and do the work when it came in. They replaced one tire on her car. Luckily, it was a rear tire on a front wheel drive car. It was very affordable, which is the only nice thing I can find to say. read more

I'm writing this review because overall we had a good experience. I have taken my car to this shop twice to have them look at it for different issues. They are very knowledgeable and are able to pinpoint what is really wrong with your vehicle. They were honest with what was wrong and were able to point me in the right direction as to what the car needed and what is did not need. read more

I was losing a very little anti- freeze and had some anti-freeze spray under my hood. I thought I may have a radiator leak. Took it to Main St Auto. I was told I needed a new water pump at a cost of $250 plus parts, etc. I wasn't losing a lot of anti-freeze so I said, "Let me think about it". I asked around, did some research online and learned I only needed a new radiator cap. $4 for a new cap was all I needed! I have had no leak or spray for almost a year now. $4 or $250 plus? BEWARE!!! DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE!!!!!! I wish i could give this place negative stars. Most dishonest/unprofessional people Ive ever dealt with. All they had to do was fix the U-joint in my Jeep. After ONE day, it broke off on the highway. When i asked about warranty, the all the mechanic said to me was "yesterday, I saw you driving up and down the road, I DID MY JOB". He charge me double for what mechanic would have at home. And didnt even do the job right! PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, DONT GIVE THIS TERRIBLE MECHANIC ANYMORE BUSINESS!!! read more

This place sucks. I got shady vibes from the owner and when I brought my car in for inspection. He told me that I couldn't pass unless I got the tint taken off my windows. My windows barely had any tint but I trusted him (big mistake). I got my car back and my windows wouldn't open because he left all the adhesive on them. I paid him to take the tint off and he didn't care enough to finish the job. I had to go back with rubbing alcohol just so I could open my windows. He's a hack and a lazy slob. Do yourself a favor and don't ever go here. read more

We were visiting New Paltz for a day trip yesterday and had some difficulty with our car engine racing and overheating. An employee at the restaurant where we had a family get together recommended Main Street Auto, so we went there, were seen immediately. We did not have any work done (will do that back home) but the owner (I believe) was very generous with his time and gave us his analysis and some tips, enough to get us back on the road confidently and back home 100 miles away. We were grateful for the owner's expertise. I'd give 5 stars but our experience was pretty simple and brief, no work actually done. read more

Do not go here for any reason. They are complete scams and completely screwed me over. I took my car to be inspected (older car, just bought recently) and the owner treated me terribly. First he freaked out about how bad the alignment was and the tires needed to be replaced. He laughed in my face when I had no idea about the tires, because of the fact we bought the car a week ago. I told him to fix the alignment and replace the tires. Multiple times throughout the day waiting for him to fix the car, I confirmed multiple times that he fixed the alignment and replaced the tires. He said yes, but treated me horribly and was very disrespectful the entire time, so when I finally got my car I paid the couple hundred dollars and got out of there asap. Just 2 months later, got a flat tire on the car and I realized the front two tires are worn down to the metal, again. When I took it back, they claimed they never fixed the alignment and they never said they were going to. He is a liar and a scam and completely screwed me over and charged me 220 for brand new tires, apparently without fixing the alignment, which now I know he lied to me about, knowing this would happen and setting us up for a blowout, which happened. read more

A few people had warned me about this place and I wish I had listened. I went in just for the state inspection. They insisted they would not pass me unless I bought new tires (from them, of course). My tires were fairly new and the tread still looked good. I suspected I was being had, and indeed when I got home and measured with calipers the tires were at least as good as the minimum tread depth everywhere I checked. I guess if you tried real hard maybe you could have found one spot that was only barely 2/32. But clearly they were hoping to fail me in order to sell me tires that I didn't need. You can find a more reputable place I'm sure. read more

WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. Brought in my car after my tire started leaking. Owner seemed helpful and genuine at first. I noticed right away after I came back to get the car that both front rims had massive gashes/scratches along the center. They consistently denied responsibility, even though I have pictures to prove it. After some polishing, most of the residue wore off, but there is certainly new scratches that I don't see going away any time soon. This is absolutely unbelievable that they thought they could get away with this. This isn't no cheap beater, these people ruined the front rims of my luxury truck. read more
