i took my car in there after i had my check engine light came I had checked all the codes and but I couldn't do it myself. I took it into Fishkill Tire when I explain my issue. The owner assured me that he worked on this and he was familiar three months the part was never changed. They did some kind fix that was temporary and now my car is in than it was when I first took it. I should've just tried to change it myself. I would've saved hundreds of dollars to think this place was legitimate but when you go in there and you can tell that they're over burden from all the work they're bound to cut corners somewhere. We had the misfortune of hitting a curb on our way into our hotel last night which resulted in blowing out the right front tire. Unfortunately, this was after close of business last night. After a Google search my husband decided to be at Fishkill Tire and Auto when they opened this morning. He was so impressed with the friendliness, attention to detail, realistic time estimates, and service performance! Pricing was very reasonable. Terrible get rid of the guy behind the counter that makes up continuous excuses that we as the people paying don't want to here

After a visit to the dealership about another matter. I was informed that the brakes were down to 1 mm. The place where i would get service isn't there anymore. I called Fishkill Tire and asked if they could fix it today? Initially they asked if I could leave the car? I explained it's my only mode of transportation. They told be to bring it in at noon. I showed a few minutes to 12 noon and by 1:30 I was finished and on my way. It might have been faster, had I remembered to let them know there are lug nut locks on the wheels and the key was in the trunk under the spare tire compartment cover. My fault. They left the lug nut key in a baggie in the trunk and the locking lug nuts back on the wheels. The wheels were removed ( you can see into the shop ) and the technician was working on it. The front brakes were replaced. The rear were OK I was told. They ONLY charged me for a 1/2 hour for the labor. It must have taken that long to find the lug nuts. Some places start the labor meter the minute you walk in, until you walk out. Even if they don't get working for an hour and it takes them 10 minutes. I KNOW FROM EXPERIENCE elsewhere. They didn't try to sell me anything I didn't need. I've seen that a few places. Over all I'm very satisfied. When I'm impressed I tell as many people as I can. read more

Had my vehicle serviced there for overheating, idling and ac/ heat issues. They told me they didn't see any issues. When I picked it up In their parking lot the heat indicator went to around half. When I got into the vehicle they were testing my over heat issue while having blowers on full blast. So of course that would keep it from over heating. Just moved to the area and they came highly recommended. The idling was rough while I was in the parking lot. I bet tires, oil changes and other services they do amazing. But I am pretty annoyed they had the truck for 2 days and clearly didn't look into the possibilities. Zero star review. My car was brought to this place for an alignment. It was left overnight. I had a bag that I keep behind my passenger seat on the floor. When I got the car back I found some of my personal items on the passenger seat that I had left in the bag. Looked back and found the bag on the back seat with all the compartments unzipped and items missing. When the owners were questioned they were not cooperative and said they do not have cameras. Bad business practice. They either left my car unlocked outside or someone inside is responsible. They showed absolutely no concern and dismissed it. I want to say my family have been going here for 20+ years. When I was a young punk and I had no money, they helped me get my car back on the road for a responsible price. Helpful front desk and good mechanics. They have worked on my grandmothers 2002 civic, and treat it like it's a 2021 Benz. They explain everything to her, and she is also happy leaving there. When I wanted better tires for my wrangler, it was explained to me whey the tires I wanted were not what I needed and the tires I ended up getting were cheaper and better for what I needed (also had a deal on them). These people are true gems!!!! I had some low tire pressure on my RV. I called and without hesitation they said pull through the back, and we will top you off not problem. Paul, the mechanic, then went out of his way to top of all the tires, and discovered that one of the back sets of dually tires had a valve installed incorrectly. The owner pointed me to a place that could fix it up. They sent me and my family on our way, no charge. Like I said, true Gems!!! I'm new to the area and called a bunch of places recommend to me and THIS business was the ONLY responsive, reasonable, reliable, informative straight to the point place! In the matter of 15 minutes on the phone I accomplished choosing a tire, then ordering my tires and making and appointment to bring in my truck. My tires were ordered, next day they called me to confirm they were ready and delivered and the following day I showed up early and was out of there all done within about and hour and a half! Everything was quick, smooth and easy. Customer service is impeccable from beginning to end. I loved my experience so much I'm bringing my second vehicle for 4 tires this coming week. I wouldn't go anywhere else! Also, a dealership told me I needed a wheel alignment along with tires I in fact didn't and fishkill tire told me I didn't and the honesty from them alone is enough to have my business. CUSTOMER BEWARE!!!!!!!! I have used these guys and thought they were honest turns out I was wrong. Unbelievable. Went for inspection. Was told I need a new tire that they just sold me a year ago and it had less than 1500 miles on it. Gentleman Bill was extremely rude and hung up on me because I was upset with them. He explained to me everyone has problems and just to deal with it. So unprofessional. Now they will not fix the overpriced tire they sold me under warranty and hung up on me. More importantly They told me and listed that ball joints needed to be replaced before inspection would pass but if you look up on the NYS inspection web site it states they can not make you fail or have them repaired to pass a safety inspection. I WAS TOLD THIS REPAIR WAS NECESSARY AND IS LISTED FOR A REASON FOR FAILURE. I have filed a complaint with NYS dmv and contacted my attorney. A stand up business does not hang up and tell the customer to get over it. Really disappointed read more

Have been a customer for a few years taking our three cars to them. I am feeling very frustrated about recent interactions (notice the plural!) and resistance to communication. Prior to these interactions I had not asked to speak with the mechanic at Fishkill Tire; beginning in Spring 2021 I have had additional questions and concerns and my requests are documented below. Late Spring 2021 - Fishkill Tire replaced my college student's serpentine belt; car also had a substantial oil leak. The front office said I had to find someplace (no referral offered when asked) to have the engine "power washed" because it was covered with oil from the active leak - they claimed the source of the oil leak could not be ascertained because there as oil all over the engine. I never heard of this before and asked the office staff questions. She said I could take it to be power washed and bring it back to Fishkill Tire that same day as the power washing. I asked to leave or message or speak with one of the mechanics to get clarification. I was told that the mechanics are too busy to speak with customers. I said I would be happy to leave a message. Again, was told they are too busy. I was firm and stated that if they are to continue to be my mechanic then at times I may need to have some communication with my mechanic. After pushing (why should I have to push?), they took a message and Bill called me back. Seems like the front office staff gave me misinformation; once I would have it power washed I would need to wait approx. two to three days to bring it back. Glad I insisted on speaking with my mechanic! I could've wasted even more money in the process if I didn't. Is Fishkill Tire so busy that they discourage people having communication with their mechanic when they have less than usual questions or need clarification? Side note, the oil leak continued and within the same week it ruined the brand new serpentine belt. A new mechanic (unknown to us) a few hours away did have to clean off the engine, and was manually able to do so to diagnosis the source of the leak. So the $200.00 I had just spent at Fishkill Tire for a serpentine belt days before was money down the drain. Apparently oil leaks can ruin serpentine belts and likely did - twice for us within the same week. This brand new mechanic (hours away) fortunately did not take advantage of this college student. They were able to clean the oil leak in their garage (why couldn't Fishkill Tire?) to the best of their ability and in doing so were able to assess where the oil was coming from and fix the leak (and a new serpentine belt which lasted because the leak was fixed). Why couldn't Fishkill Tire? Is it that they are too busy to do that work? I wonder. Summer 2021 - I took our other car (an pre-1995 Volvo - hence NO OBD codes) in - have taken it to Fishkill Tire before. I asked for an oil change (which they did) in addition to writing to them that my check engine light was on and the car is stuttering while driving. They did the oil change. And they charged me for "reading codes" - they had no idea what the codes meant and so referred me to a mechanic who might. My issue is that they charged me $19.95 for reading the rudimentary codes (which is done manually and takes about 45 seconds on a pre-1995 Volvo). Again, they did not know what the codes meant and referred me out. However, to charge me (even a modest sum) for that is appalling! I am a regular customer AND the car was in for an oil change (so it wasn't a free service). I spoke with Dan who said perhaps Bill did some other assessment to it (there was nothing listed on the receipt). He said that Bill would call me back - Bill did not call me back. So, again, I guess Fishkill Tire is too busy to have mechanics communicate with customers when less usual questions crop up. And perhaps Fishkill Tire nickels and dimes its customers too - now, $19.95 is not a large sum of money at all. But it is the principal. Through the years I had taken this Volvo to other mechanics. No one has ever charged me to just read the manual codes (again, takes about 45 seconds) - even if I was not having work done at the same time. Keep in mind I was having an oil change that day. Shame on them. Lastly, I looked through comments here. I did notice Dayne replied to one customer that Fishkill Tire is a woman owned business and the service manager is a woman. To another customer Dayne replied that Bill is the owner. Indeed, Manta does list a William Ross as the owner. So, is Fishkill Tire a woman owned business or not? Just curious - more so about the integrity. read more

My husband been here before to patch his tires, today I was on my way out to drive down toward the city with baby sleeping in the car and I had a huge nail in the tire. Went to FTAR asap but they were backup per the manager and it was lunch time. As the guys were leaving for lunch, the manager ask them if they could help and they gladly took my car in and patch it ASAP without me waking up the baby. Saving grace! I was tending to get my tires from a big box store. I have 5 cars and some car is always in need of tires. After getting the wrong tires from the box store I tried Fishkill tire. The sales guy I was working with gave me better tires for my car than the box store. The shop I was having repairs done was also closing down so I have been using them for repairs, inspections etc. I find the repairs done completely and with no issues and a fair cost. My daughter hit a curb cutting a new tire with about 1500 miles on it. Fishkill tire contacted the tire dealer to try and get a new tire at a lower cost, about a week later I was told the cost was lower for the new tire. I had a flat on my new Kia that was fixed in about 30 min. They don't have a warm and fuzzy conversation feeling about them when dealing with the counter staff, except for the woman, she is always warm and friendly. However their work is good, price is fair, this can make up for the lack of conversation for me They now get all my cars for service and do a great job, I will make friends someplace else to talk with. read more

I have an aging honda... I heard noises under the front end and asked them to check the noises prior to a road trip to Georgia. They checked and I got the feeling they didn't believe a woman would discern a noise change. They told me it was just old car noises and to ignore it. Well, on my trip 1/2 way there my axle in the front had a serious problem. The noise I heard were a direct result of the aging axle problem in the making. I gave them another chance, they are fine in intake and setting up appointments, but I am so turned off by their attitude of me being a woman when I ask them to look at potential problems. I am very aware of how my car behaves and I have a pretty good idea of how it works and should sound. I just don't have the skills to diagnose the specific problem... isn't that why I hire them? They patronize me...so disrespectful. read more

The first and last time I'll be going here. Needed my car aligned. I'm a mechanic but do not own an alignment rack, so went here on advice of a local tech. When I went in, I specifically asked staff to print out alignment values before and after the job was done to ensure adjustments were made. Went to pick up car and guy at counter told me they couldn't get the machine to print the 'before' specs and no one even bothered to write them down on a piece of toilet paper, even. Interestingly the 'after' one printed just fine. Anyway, after talking to him, I come to find out that only one adjustment was even performed- the front toe. Not surprisingly, this is usually the easiest one to do. They never bothered to adjust the front or rear camber- both of which I know were needed due to the way tires are wearing- yet they still charged me for a 4-wheel aligment (they say they don't do 2-wheel aligments and now I see why). I paid the ransom, but will be recommending this place to NO ONE. read more

Driving to Harrisburg, Pa, our car blew a tire on I 84. My wife limped it down the breakdown lane while I looked on my phone to see what our options were. I had a choice of Sam's Club or what looked like a local shop. I called Fishkill Tire. They said they were fully booked, but when I explained the situation, they said they'd try to get us in. They were a little further than Sam's Club, but they turned out to be the right choice. I'd give them 10 stars if I could. Putting a couple tires on our car required them to stay after closing time, but also gave me the opportunity to watch how they operate; like clockwork. They're very efficient, and they all work well together. They had in stock, high quality tires of the right size, and they didn't cut any corners even though it was getting late. They did everything that should be done. Perfect. The price was very fair to boot. They fixed us up and got us on our way with no further issues.
