I have been bringing my '05 Ford Exploder here for years and these guys always get the job done. They are fair, knowledgeable and willing to drop what they are doing to answer a question or look at something for you. Most recently, my transmission needed to be completely replaced. Phil got me a good deal on a remanufactured one and installed it for me. However, after about a month and a half it turns out the new one was a Lemon. Phil replaced it again, plus fixed a bad wheel bearing at NO CHARGE TO ME! I will never take my Exploder anywhere else! As an added bonus, Regina the receptionist occasionally has a dog in the waiting room. read more

I've been a customer for over 5 years here and wouldn't take my car anywhere else! It started with my grandfathers Honda that had 250k miles on it and wasn't running so well. We wanted to extend its life without spending more than the car was worth. After taking the car to 2 other shops, these guys came in at the best price. I had to change my review. I had been a customer here since it was the brake shop. I've had nothing but continual problems with my brakes since I've been here. They were replaced 4 times in 12 months and they still couldn't get it right. Their synthetic oil change is $30 more than where I go now. I really like Regina and their customer service is good, but I cannot recommend this place to anyone nor would I ever let them touch my car again. read more

Stay away. Extremely dishonest. My daughter went for her free oil change as a veteran from the brake shop she was told the shop is under new management and they could only give her half price. She agreed and left the car. When she returned she was told her car wasn't safe to drive her rear wheel cylinder was leaking and it contaminated the shoes and drum and would have to be changed for $390. I had her leave in actuality the bleaders were opened and let leak on to the backing plate. Nothing was wrong with vehicle. If Phil has no problem doing this to a 20 year old army service women what would he be willing to do to you. read more

My '17 Toyota Highlander broke down on the Taconic Parkway and I barely made it into parking lot right off the exit. AAA arranged for Wappingers Auto Tech to tow the car back to the Toyota dealer in Manhattan where we live. Some garages may have left the car in the random parking lot over night, then picked it up in the AM and driven it into the city, but Taylor told me when I dropped off the key that day that they would pick up it that night and keep it in their lot till the next morning. Phil, the general manager, was also on site when I was there, answering customer questions and trying to figure out repair drop offs that would work best with the customer's schedule. Finally, Taylor called to let me know when they were headed into the city, then called later to confirm that the car was dropped off. Traveling from Florida our motorhome broke down. It was towed to Wappingers Auto Repair and even though the placed looked busy AND it was lunch time, 3 guys came right out to diagnose the problem. Within a 1 1/2 hrs they had us back on the road. They were honest, friendly, and reasonable. Wish I could find someone like them in Florida. My vehicle was there for two months even though he guaranteed his work he had to do it over twice and still leaking. Went back a third time and he ignored me. After four alignments they still could not get it right. Then when I finally got it back I found that The steering was only being held together by a cotter pin. They stripped the screw that holds my steering arm on. I drove it around for two weeks and was very lucky. They kept telling me it was the new tires. Thank God I did not die from that. This guy messed up everything he did on my vehicle. I would recommend going to a real Mechanic definitely not Phil. read more

I've been going to Wappingers auto tech for 7 years and they are the only mechanic shop that I trust . Sal and Phil are genuine guys, old school and are always 100% honest . They are not the typical , come for an oil change and you need to replace 50 things . Give them a call and explain what you need , you will not find a better place at a better price. read more

My post is not about their auto repair service but about their power equipment sales. Recently our Husqvarna mower broke down. It's very much needed as we mow our lawn, my mother-in-laws lawn and an elderly neighbors lawn. We were going to order the part on-line but would rather give business to a local shop. We called around to our local Husqvarna dealers and decided on Wappingers Auto Tech & Power Equipment, as they promised us the earliest delivery of the part. My husband spoke to them on the phone on a Saturday, they said they would have the part on Wednesday, which was at least a week sooner then any other local dealer. My husband went to their shop and left a deposit, he explained to them how important it was to get the part, they assured him they would have it on Wednesday. Wednesday came, no part, they said you'll have it tomorrow (Thursday)He called on Thursday,he was then told Oh,we tracked it and you'll definitely have it tomorrow(Friday). My husband didn't contact them on Friday as he had another commitment and would not be able to work on the mower. Now today is Saturday, he drives over to their shop expecting to pickup the part so he can get all the lawns mowed before we have to rent a baler. He was informed by Phil that the part was still not in. My husband demanded a refund of his deposit and was at first told they couldn't do that, that it wasn't their fault it was Husqvarna's and that once they order it it's out of their control. After a few words since the deposit was put on a credit card,my husband was refunded his money. This is no way to do business. We will still shop local but never there. read more
