While I lived in Wappingers, this mechanic was my go to place. John is incredibly nice, honest and helpful. When my car was rear ended John recommended a body shop to me and everything came back beautifully. Every time I needed regular maintenance John and his team did a spectacular, speedy job and kept me up to date on things that may need future maintenance. I cross-checked his prices several times and every time CV's were competitively low. Eventually I had to leave Wappingers and needed to drive my car to all the way to California! John gave my car a full once-over, fixed all the minor problems that could turn into huge problems on such a big trip, and I made it to California with smooth sailing. I really miss having such a great local mechanic! Just yesterday I brought my car to the dealer in Cali in order to get a problem fixed. They also did a full inspection on the car for 60,000 miles. Everything came back green. The dealer verified all the work and maintenance CV did on my car for the last ~60,000 miles was well done and kept the car in good health. After being turned away from a big well known auto repair garage because you need "special tools" to work on my Smart for 2 car, John told us no problem,we are familiar with all foreign cars. They immediately diagnosed the problem,sent for the part and got me up and running. Seriously,this was not the first time that I was told to take my car elsewhere and boy am I glad they did because I found a mechanic that is not intimidated by uncommon cars. I will be bringing all my cars here. They do it all and are very reasonable. They actually have all their prices listed by the entrance door, nothing to hide from their customers. Been going to C and V auto for a long time, any work that was done on my 2 cars never had to go back to the shop,once fixed stayed fixed. But I was in a real bind with my car being stuck in the. Middle of route 82 with my 1 year old granddaughter standing on the side of the road.The shop was closed but John still answered the phone.The guy had dinner reservations but called to tell them he would be late only to come and tow me and even looked under the hood to see what was wrong. Couple of months ago, my 2014 Subaru Forester needed a new pair of front tires. I was looking for a place that would give me a reasonable price. I found it in C & V. John was very accommodating, very fair and very reasonable. The most important part, the work was excellent. Today, my 2003 Honda Civic needed a new alternator. I called John, and again he was very accommodating, got me right in. Again, the work was excellent, and the price was a fraction of what I would have paid at one of those name auto repair centers. My Tesla tire started losing pressure around the corner from C & V, i pulled in & right away someone came out & asked if i needed my tires checked thinking maybe I just needed air. Sadly...i needed a new tire. I had never had any place other than the dealership replace anything on the car because I just wasn't comfortable with it UNTIL NOW!!! They were just wonderful to work with, great communication, quick turnaround & much more reasonable then the dealership. They will absolutely be my first stop for any tire & brakes. John is fantastic! I go to school about six hours away and every time I'm home I stop in for an oil change and to get my car checked out. Sadly my car is very old so I've had to have a few things replaced over time, but John always explains to me what's wrong, is super speedy with the work, and always charges a fair price for the work being done.
