I got the inspection done today and the experience was great. Jay, one of the owners, welcomed me to the shop, very friendly. I sat in the waiting area after they started the inspection. There was another customer there and we started chatting. He couldn't praise the guys there enough. This other customer and I started lamenting how a lot of businesses don't provide the same customer experience we were use to from when we were younger (yes, bunch of old guys lamenting the world is going to...) and he said J&J is one of the exceptions. Jay showed me some additional concerns on my car...brake and tire wear. He showed me the problem areas and said I have some time left but these expenses are coming down the pike. It was refreshing to see this sales approach...I was aware he was upselling the other services they offer and I was totally happy with that...that's what all businesses must do. It was the approach, education, and showing me why the repairs would be needed that convinced me that when I need the work to be done, I will go to Jay and his team. Well done guys and keep it up! My car was checked and it had a P0130 reading but instead of fixing the owner Kevin said I had to agree to pay $210 because his mechanic needed an hour to figure out what the P0130 meant and once it was figured out they would fix my car. But what happened was after an hour they gave me a report of what needed fixed plus 5 other problems and with the classic oil leak scam. Also they couldn't fix it today like the owner Kevin claimed. So I left and the next day went to a trusted honorable mechanic and he right in front of me hooked up car with the gizmo saw the P0130 and told me and right in front of me called for the part needed to fix my car. Told me price and asked if I was good with it, I said yes and car was fixed in two hours and I was back to driving my car. Kevin the owner of Del Hatt Automotive knew what was needed to fix my car but decided to play off my fear and ignorance and charge me $210 so his mechanics can make a list of other things they can charge me for so they can drain me from as much money as possible. I am so angry my hard earned money gone, they wasted my time I told Kevin I needed car for work asap but instead I had to spend more money to rent a car.

Dropped it off tue night so it would be there 1st thing wed. morning for my 1st thing appt. (They knew when making the appt. We were leaving on a trip that Fri. Morning). At 4PM they notified me, that their "expert" RV tech couldn't find the rating plate (it's by the drivers seat like all RVs). Then failed my NYS RV inspection because he couldn't figure out how to push a button on the control panel to turn the wipers on. When I told them how the wipers turned on they then decided I had a running light out, when shown the law, that those lights arent inspected, they decided a crack in my windshield would fail it anyway, (crack in not in view, not wiper path as law states) However they did elude to the fact that it would pass inspection if I allowed them do the work they wanted to do. Was quoted : $250+ diagnostic charge to figure out the wipers (that worked) $50+ or a wire nut on the running light $2600+ for tie rods that had "slight play" $400+ for the alignment I declined the additional work and was given my recipt, and NY inspection report, they only reason for failure sent to the state was my wipers (that worked), they hand wrote the light and windshield on the form. I don't like to male assumptions but seems like that is exactly how they could pass it if i gave them $3k. The following morning 9am, my RV passed inspection at another place, no issues what so ever. They Charged me. $26 for an imcorrect NY emissions/safety inspection (RVs are only safety) $1,000+ for basic transmission service. $125+ to mount and balace (2) 16" tires that I supplied. This is an RV on a basic ford econoline chasis with 30k miles on it. There is nothing heavy dury about it at all. I am very disappointed. I was hoping to find a decent and honest mechanic, this place seems to be anything but. I will be filing a complaint with new york state.

First off, before you have to read all the way through this saga, I will simply say this…read more NORTHSIDE AUTO IS THE VERY BEST. I was involved in a serious deer strike. The deer went airborne and struck the center front of my sedan. At the scene, the responding officer and I discussed the likelihood of the vehicle being totaled. It was towed to Northside, a shop I had no prior awareness of as a repair facility. I arrived the next morning close to opening to discuss what I thought was the end of my new car. Josh met me, immediately knew which vehicle I was there for, then walked me out to review what he believed were the major concerns. My insurance company demanded that no work begin until the police report was released, a process estimated at 7-14 business days not including an upcoming midweek holiday. Josh spoke directly with the adjuster, was able to get the rental process moving, then began a tear-down to start the estimate while we waited on insurance. Throughout the entire repair, Josh and the team regularly contacted me to advise on concerns, delays, or insurance red tape that needed attention. The Northside team handled the insurance company so thoroughly that I never heard from the adjuster again beyond the initial estimate. Let's talk about the repairs. All OEM parts. Paint is flawless. Fit, gap and adjustments are fully dialed in. While completing the project and calibrating the entire new front-end sensor system, Josh called to advise that a fault code was being thrown. This was one I had previously visited the dealership for. The Northside team traced the cause to a corroded electrical connector, ordered a replacement, then ensured all applications, sensors, electrical components, plus cosmetic details were corrected properly. While the car was there, I asked for a few minor cosmetic corrections outside the scope of the accident work. These issues were handled separately and completed with the same level of flawless workmanship. Pick up I arrived at the shop and turned over my rental vehicle to them, yes they also assist with rentals. Josh walked me through the completed repairs. My car had been fully detailed, and a Northside Autobody care package was waiting inside. All in all, while the experience of hitting a deer with my new car was horrendous, everything from Redl's tow with Greg through the complete project at Northside, plus Josh's professional approach, made the entire experience far easier and honestly a bit enjoyable. Top-notch work. Top-notch people. You will not find a cleaner repair facility.

I got to my car the other day to find that the battery was dead. I had seen an ad on facebook for a local mechanic that comes to your house for repairs and oil changes etc. so I figured I'd give them a try since I don't have triple A or anything like that. A man answered the phone and said he could get someone to meet me at my car within a half hour to 45 minutes. About a half hour later a repair truck arrived and charged my battery. Even though this was not a major repair and I don't know what they'd be like for something like that, I wanted to write a review because of how efficient and streamlined the whole process seemed. The guy was very professional and friendly, and also very clean. No greasy clothes getting in and out of my tan leather seats or dirty hands touching my steering wheel! They charged me $100. which I thought was pretty reasonable considering how quickly they got me on my way. I am definitely planning on trying them for my next oil change. read more

I luckily found these guys because I've been so slammed with work that I haven't had a chance to get my car looked at or the oil changed, which was needed since I had a long road trip coming up. I scheduled to have them show up to my house right after I got home from work and they were in and out in 15 minutes! Oil was changed and car was checked over. I didn't have to lift a finger other than give them my keys. It was soooo convenient and saved me an errand to run! Adam (the owner) was really knowledgeable and very pleasant. Oscar (the mechanic) was super friendly and came prepared with all the tools needed. I was wary at first having them come to my house since I'm a woman but they were respectful and never once asked me to use the bathroom or anything to make me feel uncomfortable (unlike a Time Warner guy once). Amazing service, fast response, very reasonable pricing. My tire became flat late at night and needed a wheel key in order to change it which I didn't have. I contacted Bolt Mechanics and left a voicemail not expecting to hear back from anyone because it was already almost 9 pm. Adam returned my call within minutes. I was able to get a mechanic by 10:30 pm to come to me and change my tire even without a wheel key. They were wonderful and super grateful for Adam and Angelo. I wanted some routine maintenance done but what I got was so much more. Bolt came right to my house and preformed all the work while I was comfortable at home. After my car was checked out I received an email with pictures showing detail of the car's condition. What I saw was well beyond the level of care I've ever received from any other mechanic. They do occasionally accept walk-ins from time to time, but it's always better that you call ahead of time and make an appointment. They also have some of the cheapest fuel prices for 87 octane gas, 91 Premium Octane Non-ethanol gasoline, as well as very fair priced diesel, and grill propane cylinder exchanges in the area! They also offer towing services if you get stranded or get into a crash! They only have 4 lifts but the crew usually pumps out over a dozen cars a day!
