We were in Poughkeepsie for parents weekend and our daughter's car was leaking oil and smoking. We pulled into Bolt on a whim on Sunday morning. Onell jacked the car up and found the problem right away. He fixed it for us in 10 minutes and was so helpful and kind. He was a true lifesaver. Highly recommend. read more

Believe the hype - the reviews are accurate. After more than a year of chasing down a vibration issue on my WK2, Justin took the time to actually listen, test the vehicle thoroughly, and apply his own experience to find what multiple Jeep service centers (about five) missed. The root cause ended up being a missing NVH foam piece - something simple, but overlooked repeatedly. Bolt also worked directly with my warranty company and made a real effort to get as much covered as possible, which I appreciated. While they were in there, they were upfront about the spark plugs - noting that since access was already open, it made sense to take care of it now rather than paying for the same labor again down the road. That kind of transparency goes a long way. Overall, the team comes across as fair, honest, and focused on doing things the right way. It's safe to say I'll be going back to Bolt moving forward. read more

worst shop ever, can't believe all the good reviews, most of them are probably fake! I don't even know where to start All that I'm going to say for now is BUYER BEWARE! Don't trust the good rating and definitely don't trust this shop with giving honest diagnostics and repairing your car .You'll probably wind up getting your car back with the same problem you had before they FAKE repaired it and wind up with broken parts that weren't broken before they fixed it, AND DON'T BE SURPRISED IF YOU PAY THROUGH THE ROOF FOR THEIR INCOMPETENCE!!!!! read more

Totally honest and straightforward . Took care of my car and kept me in the loop about cost with no surprises. Attention to detail is huge for me and they get it done right the first time! I don't usually write reviews about car repairs but I was impressed and will definitely send my friends and family here! read more

I've been bringing many different vehicles here for years. My Silverado, Tahoe, Acura MDX and my WRX. Always a great experience and on point with whatever work I needed done or diagnosed. Had them install a lift kit, aftermarket intake, exhaust, new side steps and brakes etc. on my Silverado. Never any Issues. Highly recommend for anyone looking for good service. read more

Quick & professional. Got an entire exhaust installed in 2 hrs. Friendly knowledgeable people all around. Will def use again.

I picked up my girlfriend car since she works. That's why you don't remember me. Maybe you will remember this. You left me holding the bag on her Prius! Had to drive back to Long Island with all the warnings lights on after you said " I didn't work on this car" meaning someone else did. You took NO responsibility. You did a poor job. Had to bring the car to another shop to repair a brake sensor which you failed to notice. (Reason the lights were on). And 1300 cash for four ignition coils that literally sit on top of the engine and any harbor freight code reader would have diagnosed. Shame on you!! read more

Great service and knowledge. Reasonable quote and kept me informed of job progress from start to finish.

Adam and Justin have taken care of my cars for over 7 years. They are professional mechanics and have never steered me wrong. When I've had the misfortune of having had to take my cars to another garage, I brought my cars back to Bolt with the confidence that they would undo the careless work done by the other garage. Thanks Adam, Thanks Justin! read more

Adam and the rest of the guys there are truly the best. They texted me daily updates of my repair, they dropped me at the rental car place, they gave me an estimate for THOUSANDS less than the dealer and I didn't feel like they were looking at me like I was an opportunity to get over. Even in the initial phone call, I could tell they were honest. But they're not just any type of honest. They're that rare sort of honest--honest even when no one is looking. Highly recommended read more

My car unexpectedly went into "Limp" mode over Father's day weekend. I'm not super knowledgable about cars, so I reached out to Bolt Mechanics and almost immediately was in phone and text contact with Adam - on the Sunday of a holiday weekend! I was super impressed at their responsiveness. He gave me extremely practical advice (and a few things to try before needing to bring in the car to the shop, which I really appreciated), but long story short I needed to bring my car in to be serviced. Adam and Justin in the office were so gracious to me, thorough with my car, and very to the point with their diagnosis and explanations. My issue? I was overdue for maintenance and basically out of oil. How embarrassing on my part. But they were not even a little condescending about it, and helped me understand next steps with the dealer. I only wish they were closer to me so I could use their services more regularly. Highly, highly recommend. read more

Adam, Justin and Cameron at Bolt Mechanics are kind, courteous, helpful and knowledgeable. They explain everything your vehicle needs to be repaired. Bolt Mechanics is the only mechanic shop I'll bring my Jeep to. read more

Ok, the explanation was fine. No harm, no foul. Back to using them. They handled a turn signal switch on my Mercedes perfectly. Arranged good time so I could wait on preliminary check. Turned out to be light bulb, missed on previous mechanic! in and out quickly. Thanks Adam and Justin! read more

Let me start out by saying that I am a daughter of a mechanic who has 35+ years experience. I had an issue with my car in which my check engine light came on and started having acceleration problems. At first I was super worried because the only mechanic (at the time) I trusted with any of my cars, was my dad. Unfortunately, he's located over 2 hrs away and I knew it was very unsafe to try and drive that kind of distance with a vehicle that had the problems it did. Looking on yelp, I noticed Bolt Mechanics because of its perfect 5 star rating. It almost seems like its too good to be true for any place on yelp to have the perfect rating. However, after my experience with them, I can see why they stand true to such a rating. When my car had an issue, I ran the diagnostics and found out what was potentially wrong. I contacted Bolt Mechanics via Yelp. I received a very prompt response from Adam. He was super friendly and professional in every way. After I spoke to him and told him which codes were going off, he gave me a quote, and told me what the possible issues may be. The part that I sincerely appreciate is the fact that Adam didnt try to sell me on other bs services. He was friendly and completely professional throughout the whole process. My car ended up needing a part replaced. Adam handled everything and made the experience very smooth. I received my car the next day since the part had to be ordered and him and his mechanic did a wonderful job. If I were to ever need servicing on my car again or know of anyone who needs a trustworthy, reliable place to bring their car/vehicle, Bolt is it. A+++ read more

Bolt in Poughkeepsie went above and beyond helping us with car trouble! My son is a student at Marist and a tire blew out. Not knowing any auto shops up there, I Googled, read some great reviews, and called up Bolt and spoke to Adam. He was friendly and knowledgeable. They ordered replacements and when my son showed up they saw the actual wheel to the car was missing. When his tire blew out, someone else put spare on but left the wheel. It was a mess but Bolt offered to drive to the spot where he had the flat and find the missing wheel. Plus they even dropped my son off at school on the way! Great, caring service is so hard to find these day and we really appreciate all their help. Highly recommend!!! read more

Great and quick service! Made an appointment for an oil chance and inspection. They took the car in right away, did the work quickly and efficiently, and identified and fixed a minor issue with my car. I definitely will be back. read more

If you need your car repaired go to Bolt! Highly - highly - highly recommend! Helped out with a car over the weekend - provided updates and explained the process. A pleasure to work with. Adam is awesome! Knowledgable - helpful - professional - and got the car fixed so quickly!! read more

These guys are the real deal! Needed brakes. Estimate was clear, they explained everything. Justin drove me to a nearby pizza place and even had a slice with me! The job was done within the time they gave me. I will ABSOLUTELY return!! read more

Guarantee they wrote or had friends write these reviews... Absolutely TERRIBLE! If I could give ZERO I would. They destroyed my dodge!! They had NO idea what they were doing to it. They used my car as their guinea pig. I had to spend ANOTHER $700 to have someone else fix what they damaged while they TRIED to fix the original issue- after they charged me $1300 AND I had to spend $500 on a rental car for OVER 2 weeks JUST TO HAVE A BROKEN CAR!!!! And now months later- what they claimed to have fixed- IS YET AGAIN BROKEN!! They refused to say they did anything wrong, give me my money back or even speak like adults. They are a bunch of children trying to own a business when the owner isn't even a mechanic but a pompous prick. Over $2,000.00 later and my car still runs like shit. I'll gladly tell anyone to GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!! read more

Adam and Justin are amazing. My '05 Grand Cherokee needed a fair amount of repair (brakes, catalytic convertor) all of which I feared would be not only pricey but time consuming. We found Bolt on Yelp and gave them a call. Adam was able to get our parts in and all of our repairs done next day while also explaining clearly what needed fixing, being completely transparent about pricing, completing the repairs swiftly and taking the entire process from being something I dreaded to being a pleasant afternoon that left me feeling safe and secure about my vehicle. I'm so grateful for Adam and Justin's hard work and that Bolt is here any time we need them, I'm definitely a customer for life. read more

Fix my old truck and my wife's car at in a reasonable time and fair price. Very friendly and professional auto repair center.

Amazing service! Picked my truck up from my job last minute when I realized I needed an inspection (oops!). Inspected and delivered my truck back to me, and for a very reasonable price! Can't get any better than that! Thank you! read more

Adam and Justin do great work for a fair price. They've always been honest and they provide great customer service. Thanks!

Came here on a Sunday afternoon based on these Yelp reviews... Adam came out to meet us, picked up and dropped back the car on Monday: promptly! And now: it works! I am very happy- price was competitive, service awesome, I do reccommend!! Will use them again. read more

We're new to the area and were absolutely terrified when we needed our car looked at. The horror of finding a good mechanic! Let's be honest... it's a stressful thing having your car serviced! I will tell you right now that these guys a great!!! I actually still cannot believe how impressed I am with their level of service and honesty! Adam was an absolute doll and even picked up and dropped off our car for us! Not to mention he went over everything very clearly. The explanation of services needed was so honest and straight forward- it made me feel extremely comfortable and confident knowing what exactly I was spending my money on and why! I've been to a lot of mechanics... from Long Island, the Finger lakes.. even in the U.K.! This is by far the best experience I have ever had! read more

Great service, awesome guy! We brought our van in to find out what's going on with our AC. We had a somewhat difficult situation which was nothing short of annoying. Adam was amazing the whole way through; patient, very thorough, and upfront. It's an honest business which I can appreciate and am very thankful for. read more

Adam and Justin are incredible! I called last minute on the off chance they could get me in on short notice before my long drive for vacation. They squeezed me in without question for a pre-trip service and even addressed a brake light I didn't even know was out! Unmatched service and they were honest and made me feel comfortable throughout the entire process, and as a female who normally feels uncomfortable due to my lack of car knowledge, never once felt I was being anything but comfortable with the service these guys provided. Would recommend anyone in need, to try bolt for anything you could need. You won't be disappointed! read more

First time at Bolt Mechanics and I would recommend this place to anybody. The level of customer service exceeded my expectations...Ten-fold! Adam and Justin took great care of us (my wife and I). During these hard financial times and price hikes, we were blessed to have found a friend and the greatest mechanics at BOLT. Mr, Adam and Mr. Justin were honest, helpful, accommodating and totally trust worthy. It is almost impossible to find a great, honest and trustworthy mechanics, I say almost, because I found BOLT. The first time I took the car to BOLT, my thoughts were, here goes my savings, but I was pleasantly surprised to learn that I had found a honest and trustworthy auto mechanic for life. Thank you BOLT Mechanics, for repairing our Honda Odyssey and Chevy Impala, we can drive with confidence and we owe it all to you guys at BOLT. May GOD continue to bless you both as you continue to bless others. read more

I've gone to Bolt twice now for oil changes, brakes and tire rotations, and can say I've been 100% satisfied with the results. Adam is professional, fair and honest about what needs to be done, for which I am grateful! I've been used to having to go to VW dealerships regarding TDI recalls and some trying to weasel in overpriced or extraneous work. Adam provided updates on the work performed and checked in before doing any work I did not specify. I was very skeptical about a MECHANIC with SO MANY GOOD YELP REVIEWS, but after going to Bolt a couple times I know they're all true and genuine. Add mine to the list! read more

My car wouldn't start this morning in my driveway. I didn't know if it was the starter, the alternator, or the battery. I called Adam at Bolt Mechanics and he talked me through the problem. I was able to jump start my car and he was willing to take my car into the shop all in the same day. You can't find service like that anywhere else. He was willing to drive 15 miles to my location to jump start me. Excellent service! read more

I have to say, this is the BEST car repair shop in this area. If your looking for a business with Great Integrity...look no further. Five stars across the board and definitely for the following: 1. Great Integrity- I have found Adam to be a person of great honesty and integrity. He provides an honest review of the problems with your car, with "no hidden" agenda to take advantage of one's lack of knowledge about cars. It really doesn't get any better than that. He doesn't make erroneous diagnosis about your car problems....it's always on target! And you just get that feeling that he's a very trustworthy person. 2. Clean Business- This is the cleanest shop that I have been too and that says a lot! 3. Not Bad On the Eyes!!!- that's important! 4. If you don't live or work too far, they will even come pick your car up for you...They really are the best. read more

My first visit to Bolt this past week was great. I've had horrible experiences with repair shops in the past, but this was not the case here. They have good prices and excellent customer service. They did an awesome job on my brakes and oil change, while offering to drop me off wherever I needed while the work was being completed. Justin and Adam are nice, honest guys and it shows through the way they run their business. I will definitely be returning to Bolt for any other work I need done on my car and would highly recommend them to anyone else looking for a trustworthy and reliable mechanic. read more

It was an absolute pleasure dealing with these fellows. Very accommodating schedule-wise. Brought my car in. They gave me a ride back to school while they diagnosed. Sent me the diagnosis (price was very reasonable) so I said go ahead. Sent me pics of the work while it was being done. Picked me back up from school to retrieve my car. Entire process felt trustworthy, reliable, and an overall breeze. Would gladly use their services again, and recommend them to anyone. Boycott the chain stores! We need more gentlemen like these around. Thanks again Adam. read more
