I did some review before i sent my bag to without a trace to get a quote to fix my bag. Once I get to the store, the lady told me that she had to wait for the owner to see if they could repair it for me , so the owner contact me the day after and told me that they can't fix it perfect. but they will try their best. And it takes about 4 weeks to fix it. And the quote of repair is $180. A fews days later, they called me and said the bag was ready to pick up. So I went there and pick it up today. Once I saw the bag, I am very disappointed of what they repair . I think it was overcharge of the repair price. read more

I presented Without a Trace with an abused Bottega Veneta Intrecciato handbag, along with a pair of Tod's size 8 loafers that needed to be stretched to fit my 8 1/2 foot. Michael said the bag could be repaired and reconditioned. He also indicated that he could not stretch the elastic that was needed for the shoes. He gave me a month's deadline for the bag. I was called with the news within the month that the bag was ready. It was excellently restored. I was thrilled. The color was beautiful and the roughed up lamb skin was no longer. I also appreciated his realizing he could not work with the shoes. I plan on returning. read more

My late mom left a lovely 20 year old Bottega bag with a ballpoint ink stained lining, ink on the outside and a very worn dingy exterior. Very incompetent staff at the walton st location. Visited the shop on April 24th around 4pm to get an estimate on a leather cleaning bag service. The lady who helped me was rude, she couldn't get me instant prices nor could answer my questions on services. She said I had to wait a couple of days for the owner to get to my bag and then give me an estimate. I drove from the suburbs, paid for parking and couldn't get a service nor answers. They did a great job with a sweater itself but were otherwise rather difficult and expensive to work with. Didn't get any kind of voicemail, text, or email when the sweater was ready. (Apparently they called, but I don't pick up unknown numbers and never would've expected them not to leave a message.) More than a month after the original estimated completion date, they left a voicemail while I was traveling. I then talked to someone on the phone who says it would be easy to mail the sweater, which I had asked about originally, but I had been told I'd need to pick it up! (I live only a few miles away but was in a busy period at work and the time saving was a big deal to me, as I wasn't otherwise in the neighborhood.) The rep said they had to mail it express, which is very silly considering the huge delay, poor communication, and relatively low cost of the sweater and added an extra $20 to the price. The cost of the repair itself came to much more than I was expecting, but they only tell you the price once they have the item in their possession. There's of course an option to refuse, but the transactions costs are obviously higher at that point. They also tried to be helpful in recommending two other tailors for some cloth elbow patches I wanted for other sweaters, but it turns out neither of the other tailors would sew cloth elbow patches. A bit weird. In the future I would only use this place for items very dear to me, and I would try to get quotes and clarify all terms (communications, delivery) up front. I'd still be wary of their customer service. read more

I was told my LV was filthy by the clerk which was not true. I inquired if they could clean the ink stain inside the interior prior to dropping off the product. I was assured it could be clean and when I arrived to collect my merchandise, it was not clean. The front office clerk was rude and appeared to belittle me as if I didn't know my product. I just received my beloved grained leather Book Tote Christian Dior handbag after having it repaired at Without a Trace and I'm so pleased!!!! It looks brand new!!! The owner, Michael, was very charming and chatty as he looked it over and assured me it was easily repaired. Although only 4 years old, I carried it at least 3 times a week. The handles were cracked, there were scratches on the outside, a place on the side where the leather surface was worn off, and I even had some nail Polish leak on the inside of the bag! There isn't too many businesses here that can repair leather clothing and st the quality of work that we are accustomed to being originally from the New York metropolitan area. My Mothet wanted to repair a black leather jacket that my father wore but the lining was no good. She researched on-line places in the USA that do excellent work. She came across Without A Trace Weavers. She intended to have it repaired while my father was living. He passed away three years ago but she still wanted to fix it. My father-in-law passed away in May and since we planned to go to the funeral, I brought it with me. I dropped it off on a Saturday afternoon at the Walton St location a few minutes before closing. I was cordially greeted by Michael, and advised me to replace the zipper . I requested for the jacket to be cleaned. I received the jacket back on July 2, and it was packed very well , no damage by shipping it UPS, and the jacket looked BRAND NEW! Not only were my expectations met but exceeded! Generally, after services are rendered and payment exchanged, I consider my transaction with a place of business to have concluded. Such is not the case at Without a Trace Weavers. No less than 15 months after picking up my sweater from the reweaver, I received this charming message from Yelp user "Michael E." (http://www.yelp.com/user_details?userid=s6VVQkMlRKAvlveu0FAYTw) who I can only assume to be the business's owner referenced in my initial review below: "leaves a sweater for 9 months and is a liar about our hours sad person you must bring things in for cleaning and repairs and leave them there for months your a liar and a joke pathetic person 9 months your sweater sat in our store with no response and credit card decline please we dont need to be your storage company also our hours are m-f 930-545 sat 9-3 funny you had no problem droping your garment off for repair fast forward several week what a joke you are jon" Issues related to grammar, sentence structure, and capitalization aside, this message makes the man that left me a voicemail last year seem like the very picture of sanity. In my defense, although the sweater was likely left at the store for somewhere in the neighborhood of three or four months, it was certainly not nine months. Also, I pay my credit card bill in full each month and, if I recall, the business took payment when I picked up the garment, so I'm not exactly sure where Michael is going with the "credit card decline" line of reasoning. To the credit of Without a Trace, I'm pleased to see they have changed their hours of operation during the more than one year since I was their customer. The additional business hours will surely enable even more people to be the victim of the owner's abuse, and hopefully Without a Trace can rack up a few more one-star Yelp reviews. I would be remiss if I did not mention that "Michael E." has been Yelping since June 2011. This being the first day of June 2011 and having received his message this morning, I can only surmise that the business owner's account was activated for the sole purpose of harassing his former customers. My latest tirade voice mail from him accusing me of fraying the weave on the edges to enhance the photo is actually the result of me wearing the pants two times with a suit jacket of course to cover the "Weave" , I was never directed to a website to review what it would look like so that is also inaccurate. Word of advice to Michael "hire a social media coach or make sure with 100% certainty that you never have a negative review so you don't have to call customers and berate them. It's like an oil change for a car - but this is a tune up for designer bags! So heres the thing. I would be lying if I said I wanted to spend $110 getting two of my favorite purses cleaned. I didn't. But when you own designer items and use them often, its worth it to have a professional do their maintenance so they continue to look brand new. I walked by this shop on the way to work every day, but was never really sure what is was (so i checked out yelp!). I decided to give it a try. I brought in a winter white Coach bag that had gotten salsa spilled on it at a party (FAIL), and my $700 Burberry bag that was just loved and used everyday until it was filthy. He took my items, said he would do his best by hand, and give me a call. About a week later he called and said they were ready. I was SHOCKED and so impressed when I got them back. They literally looked brand new. He isn't the most social guy, but he definitely knows his business and how to fix things I never would. I was happy to pay $55 a purse to pristine items in return. I will definitely be back. Just look at it this way - if you invested a significant amount of money in a designer leather piece, what is $55 for maintenance? read more

Before contacting the company I was convinced and told by several others that the jacket could not be repaired. Mike contacted me after looking at photos and said they could repair it. My favorite purse needed the entire lining replaced, and I did not know who would do something like that, and then I found Without A Trace. Not only did they replace the lining with better fabric than it had before, they even replaced the cell phone and zipper pockets that were on the interior originally, including the designer tag. I also had them fix a front zipper that was tearing out. On a whim, I asked if they were able to more securely attach the strap holders, which had stretched out with use, and they did a better job than I could have wished for. The straps are now stronger than when I bought the purse. The only down-side I could complain about would be how expensive they are ($190 for all of the above), but I guess you get what you pay for.
