I had an amazing experience at without a trace. I brought my sheared, beaver jacket in with a big spot on it . When it came back, I was so unhappy because the spot still looked awful. I mailed Without a Trace a leather jacket from Overland that suffered damage from a leak from my closet's ceiling. It looked stained, dirty and the leakage caused it to harden and loose its leather suppleness. Without a Trace was able to restore it, restrain it, remove the stains and hydrate it. The jacket turned out a bit darker than my original but the new color was beautiful and even, and most importantly the stitching in the jacket remained lighter which continued to give the jacket definition and an edge. I am very happy they were able to save my jacket. They do great work, came highly recommended and certainly didn't disappoint! read more

I have taken two different garments for repair at the Bryn Mawr location. One is a beautiful cream cashmere duster that had two holes near the shoulder area and one was an arty, handmade crocheted tunic. I snagged it on something at waist level. Both pieces came back so well repaired I can't tell where the damaged areas were. It is such an old school, lost art vibe here. There are boxes and boxes of beautiful items that people send from all over the country for repair. High quality, well made things that are possibly family heirlooms are reconditioned and repaired here. They are very reasonable, friendly, professional and talented. What a relief - Zak did a PERFECT job of gluing the shoulder section down without leaving a trace of this not so easy repair. I had a customer waiting for this VINTAGE vest and after many years of hanging on a hanger it caused the back of the shoulder part to dry out and lift about 1/4" - 1/2" . I recently took in a very well worn (abused) 25-year-old Lora Piana nylon jacket with a cashmere vest and leather collar. I had the old leather collar replaced with a new collar and the entire jackey cleaned. I was blown-away with the results! The jacket looks brand new - the collar is perfect and you can't tell it was not original. Even more impressive is how clean they got the nylon and the cashmere. The cleaning and collar replacement was not cheap, but still was less than 10% of what a replacement would cost. I can't recommend them highly enough read more

Brought in my cashmere sweater to have some tears fixed. They did a great job fixing the tears, however they missed one and I had to go back. Great customer service experience overall. It also seems like they dry cleaned the sweater. It's not as soft as it once was and now it's very scratchy. You're not supposed to dry clean cashmere. read more

We decided to email Michael after Loro Piana gave us his information. He was super professional throughout the whole first experience. We live in CA. We filled out the form and sent in our precious garments. I was thrilled when I received our package! I did not take care of our Loro Piana pieces because I never knew of a place. Well I have to say they are very honest, good professional people who take care of storing your fur coat properly and professionally. They are also great in tailoring damage or redoing for coats in regards to modifying zippers and buttons on your fur coat if they're not working. Unfortunately with the pandemic it's been hurting their business with the generation gap or this day and age of young of how people do not agree to wearing animal furs. I do praise them in regards of how they stored my mom's mink full length fur coat for five years and utilizing their service. They are not overpriced and they even delivered back in 2019 but policies have now changed due to covid and social distancing. Unfortunately this will be my last storage and utilizing them. As my mother cannot use a fur coat at her age with her declining health. I ended up donating it under my mother's permission to my cousin down south in Texas who is enjoying it after mailing it for delivery this past week. Back in September I tore a peanut-sized hole in the thigh of my second-favorite suit. I hoped that I would be able to get it repaired, but since I am a Procrastinator First Class, it was November until I took them into Bloomingdale's where I had bought the suit two years ago. The tailor took one look at the tear and declared it beyond his powers. However--"There's a place on Bryn Mawr that I recommend..." I was apprehensive because the tear was pretty ugly and I am very fond of this suit, plus it is a quality suit and had not been cheap. The storefront is far from fancy, and to call the shop itself "cluttered" and "no-frills" would be a kindness. But the space extended back a fair ways, and it seems that they do a lot of mail-order business. Don't you feel better when a place seems to be thriving? All those other customers must know something, right? The clerk who took my pants was very knowledgeable about the procedure, so maybe he was more than a clerk. Either way, he swept away my last doubts about my choice. Both he and the woman who called later to give me the estimate were very up-front about the fact that the pants would not be "good as new" but would have a faint outline of the reweave. Also, they each explained exactly what they would be doing as if we were discussing surgery for my child (perhaps they sensed my love for this suit). I dropped off Saturday, received the estimate Tuesday, and got a call three weeks later, exactly as promised. My faith was rewarded: while not perfect, the pants look better than I had hoped and far, far improved over the appearance of the tear. They lined up the pinstripes and the surface is very smooth. In the dim light of a wedding reception, cocktail party, fundraiser, awards banquet, Irish wake after all the uncles are drunk etc, noone will be able to see the bad spot even if they are looking directly at it. (My eyes are up here, ladies. Sheesh.) So I can go back to wearing this suit on almost any occasion that I would have before the accident. What's more, they had cleaned and pressed the pants as an unexpected bonus and gave them to me on a hangar inside a dry-cleaning bag. It had not occurred to me that they might do this--I had brought my own hangar! I was happy to pay good money for the expert craftsmanship; the pleasant, professional service and the little extras were merely welcome icing. This was a good lesson that appearances can be deceiving. I will recommend this place to anyone who needs any kind of clothing repair. read more

My wife's suede purse that had a run in with a rainstorm, and quite honestly, I thought it was a lost cause. But after bringing it in, they said no problem. Boy did they deliver. This kind of work takes time, so it took 10 or so weeks, but it was so worth it. The suede is as good as new, and has Scotchguard now to avoid any other rain calamities. Very honest, very cool. Without a Trace did a spectacular job on 'refinishing' my husbands many-years-old leather jacket. I didn't even know it could be done, but after a few days at this shop, his worn, green-ing, cracked, cruddy looking leather coat is as good as new and looks great. It's not cheap ($80 to refinish, and $60 for new pockets because they needed to take out the lining to get to them) but I can't find any faults in the work done. Still a lot less expensive then buying a new jacket. :) read more

So you can imagine the anxiety i had sending my late uncle's jacket from California to Illinois. But i took a leap of FAITH and the end results are AWESOME! this coat looks like it was bought from the store. There is no TRACE of repair signs. Very disappointed. I emailed this company to ask then if they could mend my vintage chenille bedspread. I was told "yes we can, send it to us." I did so. A couple weeks later they called me and said they could not fix it because for a bedspread there is no extra fabric. This made sense to me, but what did not make sense was that the person who emailed me knew what I had and what the problem was and still told me that they could fix it. Why did he tell me this if bedspreads just aren't something they can fix? Which is basically what the person said to me on the phone. One hand doesn't know what the other is doing. They mailed my bedspread back to me and believe it or not charged me $17 for shipping! That is on top of the $10 I paid to ship it myself! So I wasted $27 and they knew in advance I had a bedspread but still told me to mail it in. I spent $27 due to their mistake. I ended up fixing it myself with a product called Bo Nash that you can buy on amazon and used a scrap of a white sheet for the patch on the reverse side. My advice to potential customers with this company is make sure they can really fix it before you send your item in. Ask them multiple times because obviously someone there doesn't know what they are doing. Or look into this product Bo Nash and save a lot of money. My advice to this company is monitor whoever is answering your emails and don't charge someone shipping if you told that person you could fix that item and then changed your mind. Why should I pay for your mistake. Disappointed and still angry. read more
