I would not have gone to this restaurant on my own because of the low rating it has received thus far. Wisk is a favorite of my teenage boys so of course they win. Very happy I went. Saturday morning 11am we did not have to wait at all even though no reservation. Coffee and water to the table within 5 minutes of sitting down. Coffee was typical diner type coffee, it great but defiantly drinkable (I was not expecting anything spectacular). My son had been raving about the chicken and waffles so of course I had to give it a try. Chicken was perfect. Not chicken fingers (like on some earlier reviews), instead a cutlet that was cooked perfectly and battered light and flakey. The waffle was also very light and flavorful. Waitress (whose name I forgot but rattled and nose ring) was very polite and more importantly on top of everything. I will certainly be going to Wisk again in the near future!! read more

Omg how did I not know about Wisk before now?! My daughter and I went to Wisk for brunch today and I could not be more impressed. Everything was perfection. The restaurant is tucked into a shopping center off of Preston Rd in Prosper, right across from Ernesto's. We were greeted and seated right away. Interior decor is simple but thoughtfully done, they have a nice reclaimed lumber wall in the back and sweet touches here and there. There is a drop-down for the light features in the middle that was neat. The restaurant was clean, the server was extremely friendly. She recommended that beef and hash, not something I've been normally get but she sold me on it. My daughter got French toast and a side of biscuits and gravy. We both were so pleased with what we got! The biscuits were how they should be made, and the gravy was perfection. They had a wide variety of options to choose from on the menu. Reasonably priced. Multiple options of mimosas which is always nice. I am always on the hunt for great breakfast places, this was only 15 minutes from home, I highly suggest everyone giving it a try! read more

What a fun brunch spot! Stopped by at 9:45 on a Sunday and the four of us were seated with no wait. My GF and I had a latte and cappuccino and enjoyed them both. The food here is great. It feels warm and inviting, like family. All the servers are wonderful. The menu selection has a lot of variety to choose from. The owner and his wife are so friendly, personable, and caring. It isn't often you see the owners working to help out their staff and visit with guests like these owners do. The rewards program seems to have been changed. We enjoyed it when they were open for dinner but it is unfortunate but enough people stopped in to justify remaining open in the evenings. Evening food dishes were amazing and the cheesecake melted in your mouth! Perhaps the economy will turn around to allow for dinner time opening again in the future. Visited Wisk on a beautiful saturday with my husband. The location was easy to get to and the restaurant is pretty! Our server Nico was very pleasant and provided great and efficient service. I ordered the French Goddess French Toast, a unique twist on traditional French toast with a layer of creamy decadent cheese, fresh strawberries, and their housemade strawberry compote - just fabulous! Well.... My husband and I had hoped this would be a new breakfast place to enjoy, sadly that will not be the case. I will start with the good. The service was good. Polite server. The inside looked nice overall. The biscuit that came with my meal was good. Now for the rest... So they have pictures of amazing looking cinnamon rolls on the table. It says freshly baked. They are $3.50. In the picture it looks warm and gooey. The frosting is dripping over the cinnamon roll. I wish I would have taken a picture of what the actual roll looked like. Truly looked like a store bought cinnamon roll. It was hard, slightly warmed, frosting was drizzled and hard. When the server asked how we liked it. We were honest. We told her that is didn't look like the picture and that it wasn't worth $3.50. We both ate two bites and didn't finish. The server came by and asked if she could take the plate. She saw that we barely touched it. There was no apology, no offer of taking off the bill, no offer of a new one. Nothing... That was the first strike. Next, was the orange juice. It cost 4.95, which is fine if it is a good orange juice or if it is served in a chilled glass. This orange juice was not good and served in a plastic cup. Certainly not a $5 orange juice. The was strike 2. I thought, well they have one more chance here with the food. I ordered a skillet with scrambled eggs, potatoes, cheese, and smoked bacon. When it came the first thing I saw was that they first put the potatoes, sprinkled some cheese and then put the eggs on top. The cheese was not melted (the part under the eggs was). Then I was looking for the smoked bacon. Instead I found bacon bits. Granted they are the fresh type of bacon bits, but certainly not freshly cooked bacon that had been chopped up to put into the skillet. The potatoes also did not seem to be freshly made. They had the consistency of frozen breakfast potatoes that had been heated up. Now if this skillet was $7.99, I might forgive this. However, this skillet was $14.95. I ate the eggs and a couple bites of potatoes and that was all. Pretty expensive eggs! Also, the portion size on the skillet was not very big. My husband and I usually can share a skillet at other restaurants, but not at this one. Strike three, you're out! When our bill came, we were disappointed to see that the cinnamon roll was still there, especially since we had said something about it and she took it away and it clearly had not been eaten very much. I wish I would've driven the 10 extra minutes to go to a place that does all these things much better and charges less. Lesson learned. read more

Service was fine. Monte Cristo says it is a double decker. It wasn't. It was between two slices of French toast. A double decker would have had three slices of toast, one in between. It says it is dipped in French toast batter. It was not. The bloody Mary was literally just tomato juice and vodka. Bland and flavorless, just tasted like tomato juice. No spices, horseradish, worcestershire sauce, salt, or pepper. Sent it back and asked for a sangria, which came in a champagne flute and just tasted like berry juice and sprite for $8. Maybe 15 French fries served with the Monte Cristo, about four bite's worth. $5 for a glass of orange juice! I guess I was disappointed. Came about 12:30pm on a Sunday. They were busy, but we were seated right away. They have a great breakfast and lunch menu. My wife ordered the lunch special, 1/2 chicken wrap and 1/2 Cobb salad. She liked the wrap. But she didn't care for the spring mix of lettuce. It was a lot of food. I ordered the Classic BLT with fries. It sandwich was ok, but the fries were great. Our experience at Whisk was a bit of a "lukewarm" mess. We visited on a Saturday morning around 11 AM. There wasn't a wait, and we were seated immediately. It was your typical diner without much ambiance. My wife ordered pancakes with strawberries and Nutella. I ordered the meat lovers skillet and 2 pancakes. The trouble started when my wife's order was brought out about 10 minutes before mine. Her order was missing a couple of the requested items (side of bacon and glass of milk ). In addition to the missing items the toppings on my wife's pancakes were scarce. The strawberries cost an additional $2.50 and the Nutella cost an additional $2.00. Those prices would not have been bad had there been plenty of strawberries and toppings, but instead it was a total of one strawberry cut into thin slices and a drizzle of Nutella and strangely chocolate syrup. Definitely not worth the value. My skillet finally arrived, but was served barely lukewarm and covered in a strange sauce. I ended up sending it back and asked them to remove it from the check which they did. I will say the manager tried to get me to agree to allow them to remake my dish but considering my wife was done, I counted it as a loss. We will most likely take a pass on visiting Whisk in the future. With so many new breakfast places popping up in Frisco and Prosper there are far better options. Do yourself a favor and Whisk yourself away to another place for a decent breakfast. read more

The staff here was awesome. They were friendly and super accommodating when we wanted to eat outside. They set up an umbrella and wiped down the tables and chairs (just because they were outside). The food was great. Pancakes were good, French toast was great, bacon was crispy. Breakfast tacos with avocado were great! Only thing that could be improved was the hash browns were a little soggy. Decent breakfast--I had the Florentine Benny with home potatoes. Let's talk about this. English muffin was lovely. Bacon was so crispy and clearly freshly made. The spinach was raw--which seemed odd. I could've lived with it but the stems were still on it. Like 2 inch long stems. Not cooked or tender. I also didn't get grilled tomatoes. It was perhaps a half slice and not grilled. Hollandaise was plentiful but lacked flavor. Eggs were ok. But could've used a minute longer..the whites weren't fully cooked.
