I can't even begin to describe how much I love this place. Not only can you get delicious pizza downstairs, but the drinks are delicious and reasonably priced!!! My personal favorite is the boss Manhattan - I highly recommend it if you're a bourbon fan! The bartenders are very skilled and I'm sure can make just about anything, but with such an amazing menu (with seasonal specials) I'm sure everyone can find a delicious drink to order. read more

This is a combined review of Wiseguy Lounge and Goodfellas Pizzeria because to me they are a great combo: Goodfellas Pizzeria: relative small space with stools along the wall for sitting - reminiscent of NYC pizzerias. Walking in the smell is the first thing you notice -amazing! I am from NY and it is hard to replicate NY style pizza, but this place comes close. Lots of different kinds of pizza and all the ingredients are fresh. This place is now in my top 2-3 pizza places in Cincinnati. I actually didn't spend much time down here (you can order food from the 2nd floor upstairs bar which is called: Wiseguy Lounge: towards the back of the pizzeria you will see stairs leading upstairs. Follow the signs up the narrow stairs and you will enter the Wiseguy Lounge. Similar size to the pizzeria. They have a few sofa chairs/love seat couches along the wall opposite the bar but get there early because there are only a few and they fill up (especially if you want to eat your pizza comfortably while enjoying drinks). Also have seating at the bar. Huge selection of bourbons (bar tender said they have 156 difference kinds) and they have a bourbon club - if you try 100 different kinds (including in mixed drinks) you get your name on a plaque on the wall. They also have a good selection of unique mixed drinks (think Japps, but they opened first). Overall had a great time and really enjoyed the pizza. But get here early if you want a seat. read more

Really stellar bar menu and they have the awesome pizza downstairs (huge slices with huge breadsticks!) the bartenders are usually knowledgeable and are usually capable of making any drink you want. I don't want this to hinder you from going and checking this place out, but their late night staff seems to be a little more attentive than their afternoon staff. Went with a friend around 2:30PM because they have a $6 deal for a slice, a breadstick/salad/dessert and a bottle of water or a pop. We can't pass up this pizza so we go in, and ask if the upstairs (bar) is open yet because it's still really early. The worker said yes and even said they were serving drinks as early as 11AM. So we're upstairs, the only people sitting at the bar and in the room period besides the bartender. The bartender brought us napkins- the only thing they said to us the entire 30 minutes we were there was "here's some napkins". That was nice, and I was expecting to get the cocktail menu or a check back with us but this bartender spent most of the time looking at their phone. I almost thought maybe they were just a barback and was waiting for the actual bartender, but I usually get more attention from barracks than even this. We were there for about 25 minutes, trying to make eye contact with the bartender, no luck. Then a young man walked in and was able to get a drink right after walking up. We left without having any great cocktails. ***like I said, every time I've gone after 8PM I've never had an issue with getting drinks even when they're super busy, so this is still a place you should hit up when you're in the area and make sure to get a slice of pizza on your way out for drunk food! read more

Dude, who knew that a "by-the-slice Pizza place" would have a pretty sweet lounge upstairs. A friend told me about this, and I kind of laughed at first, but he told me it was a really nice place, so we decided to check it out. He was right! This place was great for a midweek hang out. I had an old-fashioned, it was probably the best one I had out ever. There are plenty of seats available on comfortable leather couches, the noise level is not too loud, I personally hate yelling over silly bar music, so I truly appreciated this fact. My wife and I had a great conversation, and we were not bothered at all by smoke inside because there is a smoking patio easily available through a door next to the stairwell. If you like bourbon, they probably have about 100 bottles to choose from. Will be back soon! read more

Hubs and I LOVE this place! It's by far our favorite bourbon bar in NKY and the amazing pizza is just icing on that bourbon cake! The bar tenders are friendly, for the most part. It's a small place so getting a spot can be a challenge but it's always worth it! These pizzas are ginormous so beware when ordering! They are always so fresh, with great rustic Italian ingredients. They aren't cheap but they are huge, so there are always leftovers. read more

This has been my favorite bar for years. They have completely fair prices for cocktails, and add a bit of showmanship when they make the drinks. The people there are always friendly, even when it's packed. Also, I had a situation once where another bar patron wouldn't leave me alone, and the bartenders were all over it and kicked the guy out. Went to Goodfellas for lunch then decided to head upstairs to checkout the speakeasy lounge. What a great idea! We chatted with Kevin who was bar-tending and charming all the while. We had a few laughs and were introduced to a Angels Envy, a very smooth bourbon I enjoyed on the rocks. I can imagine how much fun this place would be in the evening. Stumbled upon Wiseguy Lounge mid-afternoon Saturday wandering through the MainStrasse Village in Covington, and I mean that quite literally. Got a little hungry and needed a restroom, so we popped in and decided to head upstairs with our pizza (2nd floor of Goodfellas). We were able to have our tab open upstairs and put our pizza on it without having to pay separately, which was nice. I fell in love with the old-timey feel of the bar and marveled at their selection of spirits ... I'm almost ashamed of myself for not getting a cocktail, but ended up ordering a Moerlein Shiver Chai Porter and it was a fantastic decision. Our bartender (so sorry I didn't catch her name) was great and a goldmine of information about the area (we were in from Pittsburgh for the weekend). They weren't busy, probably because of the odd timing of our visit, but there were plenty of seats at the bar in addition to couch seating around the lounge. The music was great, and that was the icing on the cake for us. We will probably come back next time we are in the area. read more

My husband brought me there as a surprise because of the pizza, the atmosphere AND the bourbon. I love old fashions. He was really excited to show me the place. I loved the atmosphere, but then it all went wrong. The pizza was never delivered to us upstairs in the bar, as promised. We went to check on it, and it had been sitting under the warmer for a while. So, the pizza and bread sticks were not close to being hot. Then, probably one of the worst things happened. The bartender, who it was his last night working there started to give the customers at the bar drinks strait into their mouths. During a pandemic, he is literally going from one person to the next pouring liquor straight into mouths. The people were putting their mouths on the metal spout, and some even wrapped their lips around the bottle. Needless to say, my husband and I won't be back. Nor will we recommend this place. I have to say that if I was a visitor in the area who didn't know anyone I wouldn't know that this place existed. Downstairs is a tiny little joint that sells NY style pizza and for the most part the crowd consists of drunk people trying to grab a bite to eat. Upstairs is a cozy bar that sells speakeasy-esk type cocktails. It has a swanky vibe without the actual swank as in you can wear jeans and fit in and the prices of the drinks are anywhere from $6-$10. I was blown away that I was able to ordered a deliciously strong martini for only $6!! You can't get that in Cleveland unless you are at happy hour. The only downfall to this place is that all the drunk people with pizza are able to come upstairs and eat and it takes away from the secluded vibe. read more

This used to be our favorite bar. Great cocktails in a quirky atmosphere with outdoor space. Not to mention pretty good pizza downstairs. But we've stopped coming here because the female bartender is so unpleasant. We had been going to WG a couple of times per month, but the first time that she served us, she barely stirred our Manhattans and served them to us lukewarm. On top of that, she appeared to go out of her way to appear indifferent and aloof. We thought that maybe she was having a bad day, but every time after that it has been the same. Most recently we went in with a big group and a number of other people commented how unfriendly she was. Frankly, it's embarrassing. If you want to go here, you can just avoid her and go straight to the guy bartender, who is friendly and knowledgeable. We've considered trying to figure out what her off days are since she's such a buzzkill, but that's just plain BS and we shouldn't have to do that. Instead we've started taking our business to Sundry & Vice in OTR, where you are treated like a customer instead of an inconvenience. read more

I've been here multiple times and there's a calming feeling when the bar manager Griffin looks at you, straight in the eye, and asks what I want to drink. Normally I've had a long day in sales and the last thing I want to do is make yet another decision that could alter my life. Telecom, seriously ppl avoid it. It's a slippery slope of emotions and emails. Anyways, so Griffin looks at me and asks what I want. I shrug my shoulders, looking lost, and he just gives the nod. You know the nod, it's the universal nod of I got you. The nod that understands High Life should be served in a flute The nod that understands Wild Turkey 101 is gospel. The nod that understands you never muddle fruit in an Old Fashioned or use soda. The nod that simply takes my dear of life away. The nod that takes Griffin to the other end of the bar to create and smokey libation which is named a Mexican hooker on coke. Why? I don't know, but when I named it I gave the nod. Great beer, great drinks and damn good pizza at this location! If you order the whole pie, they will deliver it to your spot at the bar or table. There is also a much larger location in Over the Rhine in downtown Cincy, but I prefer the Mainstrasse location much better. This is a small bar upstairs from the pizza store with an outdoor deck overlooking the backyard music stage. I enjoy the gangster theme and the knowledge of the bartenders was top notch, but the selection of bourbon is truly amazing. They also have about 12 taps for us beer lovers as well. As I recall, most are rotating taps. The only downside is the men's bathroom is located downstairs in the pizza store. If you come here for drinks and pizza, you simply can't go wrong. The bourbon selection is much better than the OTR location and better than most places not named OKBB or Newberry's. I think the prices are just a tad more reasonable here with a just as good if not better vibe. Not too pretentious and not too mysterious or run down scary. The menu fully describes the prices of all drinks but the super high-end bourbons at market prices. Still, you can get a decent shot for under $10 and a nice pint of beer for about $5. Slices of pie were about $4 for a huge NY style wedge. Lastly the patrons are quite friendly. I've met locals who were professional, outgoing and knowledgeable to regular Joe's who just want to unwind after work. I hope to be back soon. read more

Craft beer, bourbon and pizza. Really, does it get any better? The Wiseguy Lounge is located above the Goodfelles pizzeria in Mainstrausse. You would likely never know it is there unless you happen to wonder in for a slice or someone has told you about it. Wiseguys definitely has a lounge feel to it with a really nice bar and leather arm chairs, love seats and sofas to sit and relax in. The environment is very relaxed as it should be for a lounge, non pretentious and a refreshing change from your typical bar. They have an extensive bourbon selection, more than 100 choices, in all price ranges. You can drink good bourbon cheap or amazing bourbon that will leave your wallet wondering just what happened last night. They have a nice tap selection with multiple local and regional craft beers. If you get hungry you can walk right downstairs for a good slice of pie or you order a whole pie from the bar upstairs. Word of warning they are enormous so bring friends or come hungry. They have a really nice and new outdoor patio to enjoy a lovely evening outside. I don't live terribly close but have found myself here the last three weeks in a row, it will be a regular destination for me when i choose to go out for a quick drink. read more

My man friend Tresy and I def enjoy a good "Speak easy" lounge. This spot blew us away. I can't say enough about Molly. While being constantly entertained by her, My margarita was one of the best in the land. And I have had a few.....We like that it catered to adults. Which is def hard to find these days. My girlfriend and I stumbled upon this amazing spot on her bday last year. We immediately were drawn by the cozy feel, and dedicated bartenders. We also noticed the great selection of beer, and plethora of bourbon! It wasn't until the next trip, during Oktoberfest, when we began to see just what the bartenders were capable of. Locals/regulars ordered drinks that blew us away by the work that went into them and the visual perfection of the craft. We tried a few of these speciality drinks and wow! We just got back from my girlfriends bday trip to Cincinnati with our good buddy, and we just had to come back! Kevin, a doctor of tending bar/mixologist blew our minds with an array of different drinks with bourbon! Literally, the best drinks I have ever tasted (one was bourbon/ espresso and was sensational). Not sure what to get, or what a certain drink is called? Simply tell them what kind of liquor, imagine what sounds good, and let the professionals blow you away!
