I hadn't been to Righteous Room in probably years after it being a regular happy hour spot when I worked downtown. Now my BFF is working a block away, so we hit it up to start off my birthday weekend and I'm definitely going to have to make it a regular stop. Happy hour deals are the most clutch here. Half off all the drinks (or at least almost all - they say there are "rare" exceptions, but I haven't encountered any. Even the specialty cocktails were half off! AND it goes until 7pm. (If your happy hour ends before 6, it's not happy.) The main bar is moody and honestly makes it kind of feel like you're transported. I believe they open the front windows during nice weather but in the winter, you're snug and cozy and the hustle and bustle of Walnut St is miles away. There is counter seating and then the other side is a long line of a booth seat with bistro tables and extra stools. The courtyard in the back is its own vibe and another transport. You're outside! No, you're inside! Kind of like Arnold's patio. There's a bar back there too. No snacks here (all the bars should have some snacks, dammit!) but it's more of a stop on the way to the rest of your night. I came in because the social media posts I saw looked interesting and the pics were great too. They do moderate craft cocktails, but no Chartreuse to do the popular items involving it. Righteous room is a definite go to spot for us! They always have an awesome drink deal going on. Their bartenders have always been super nice and friendly. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because every now and then they have a live DJ which isn't bad, but doesn't quite make sense for the small space they have. I have always passed the Righteous Room but never stopped in. Well I finally did a few weekend ago and thought it was a cute bar! The ambiance is romantic, sexy, and cozy. The tables were lit by candles. I believe later on in the night the vibes change when a DJ is present or an event is happening. The drinks were fun. My friend and I stopped in here somewhere in the middle of a bar-hopping adventure, and this place has a stellar Happy Hour deal that sets them apart. Enjoy happy hour from 4pm - 8pm, Monday through Saturday. This brings their House Cocktails down to $5-$6 a piece. This place also had the most varied patrons. We saw everyone from young, enthusiastic folks (accompanied by their pet bird?!?) to older, casual folks. A lot of diversity. Wanna get lit on a budget? This is your place. If you roll in on a week night, expect a chill atmosphere. Weekends? Expect to be elbow to elbow in the charming, but narrow bar. The back patio area is awesome and is even heated in the colder months. I typically avoid righteous room during their peak busy hours, but I love coming here before a show or during the week to have a chill drink and relax. The staff was very friendly and the service was quick and efficient! When my one vodka soda cost me $3.50 I knew I was a happy camper. Definitely come here to score a great deal. read more

Righteous room has some amazing HH specials! Definitely worth checking out! I can't remember the name of my drink but it was served in a champagne flute and had berries inside! It was delicious, but also light and refreshing. Service was great and the bartenders allowed me and my friend to catwalk to one of our favorite songs without any judgement :) every time I go there's great service and a fun environment! Environment wise in nicer weather they open up the windows or you can sit right outside depending on your preference. It's also great for groups as every time I've come in with at least 10 people. But if it's just you or a friend it's great for that as well! Only thing I'll say is I've never had any food there so I'm not sure if that's something they offer. Oooh la la. If I lived in Cincinnati I would be a frequent customer at Righteous Room...so my type of place! And based on the Friday night crowds I'm not the only fan... We pushed our way thru the crowds to the back patio, which was covered and heated for a cold December evening. It was a bit chilly, but I was able to ditch the jacket after warming up with a glass of wine. I can imagine this is one cool patio in the summertime. This is one of my favorite spots downtown. Cool place to people watch and get a martini. If you get upset when drunk people accidentally bump into you, you may want to avoid this bar. It is in a prime location, across from the Aronoff and near other hot spots (CAC, 21C, Fountain Square). People like me will bar hop and chat it up with total strangers. When I am in a frisky mood, I will head out back to watch a band and dance with friends. But mostly the evolving scene up front and the bar draws my attention. At times, I will go back and forth between Ruby's and RR for a change of pace. Happy Hour brings a different flavor and is easy on the pocketbook. Place is amazing. I was in town from Chicago and this was my 4th bar I visited. Bartender got my drink order in quick, I told him my favorite liquor (tequila) and he whipped up an amazing mixed drink. The gm was sitting next to me and offered the first round on him. 1/27 service was terrible, bartender on duty was too busy talking with someone and completely ignored our end of the bar. Numerous attempts to try and get his attention for additional service was ignored. He took several orders from the other end of the bar not looking in our direction. Finally after 15 minutes of being ignored I walked to that end of the bar and asked for my check and cashed out leaving no tip. My wife and I have frequented this place for every play we attend at the Aronoff Center and had great times and service was great. We are wondering if it is now under new management. We can certainly take our business elsewhere. I will give it one more try next play, but will walk right out if we don't see the old crew back behind the bar. read more

Wandered in to kill some time before a play at the Aronoff. I've wanted to stop in for a while because, I mean, come on- that door! The inside is cozy and dark but not otherwise terribly striking, but it's a nice space to be in. Turned out it was happy hour... and that's what really impressed me. The happy hour days, hours, and prices are awesome. It was a fairly quiet night, pleasant service, just an overall nice experience. I will be back for the happy hours again - which, unlike so many other places - are easy to hit here. Including on weekends! read more

Three is us went to smoke cigars across the street at Jeff Ruby's Steakhouse on their outdoor patio but they were closed/closing. They opened the door and sold us some cigars and pointed us here to The Righteous Room to smoke. They told us to walk straight through the bar and smoke in the back outside courtyard. We would never have found this on our own! Great outdoor back area for smoking. Very edgy and stark. You could be in NYC. Inside the bar itself, the vibe was positive. It was crowded and hopping. I loved the decor especially the interesting art on the walls. Great service. Putting this on the permanent rotation list for when I am in Cincinnati. read more
