My niece made reservations for her 21st birthday. This place did not disappoint. We were greeted by T, very pleasant man that does his job well. We were able sit in the front and ordered drinks with our server also delightful. The drinks were soo good. I wish they offered appetizers but they dont offer food. The performers Mandy and Brian were perfection. It's a small intimate space, gives speakeasy vibes with accessible entrance and an elevator to get to the lower level. We had a great time! Definitely will be back when I'm in Cincy.
Visiting from out of town and came across this bar. Extremely cool backstory and very interesting Space. The bar itself is down in previously used cellars. It's a cocktail bar that has a few options available. You can just drop in and get a cocktail at the front bar or you can make a reservation and sit in the entertainment area. We went and saw a burlesque show. The live band and singers were very good.
We made last minute reservations because Jimmy Clepper was playing and asked to be seated near the music. Although the room was packed, we ended up front and center and couldn't have been more grateful. Beverage service was excellent, even keeping the water coming, which makes the evening for me. The white Bordeaux and Good Woodford pours satisfied us. Of course, the music was amazing. The Ghost Baby vibe is cool and we count on the music, even when it's not Jimmy to be good.
We went here for my 60th and I loved it!! There was 11 of us and our server was attentive and so nice The drinks outstanding I had the ghost baby special which was for cinco de mayo Our entire group loved their drinks Its a beautiful speakeasy bar and its underground The decor is breathtaking and the entertainment top notch The only thing is the volume is loud Hard to talk but overall a fantastic time
Such a cool experience. I was invited along to someone's reservation, so I can't speak to the ease of that, but with a reservation we had a great time. Everyone was very friendly, our server was very attentive, and we were delighted by the drinks. Not surprisingly, the tab grows pretty quickly, but the vibe was worth it. We loved the jazz-y artist they had performing - though it took a while for them to take the stage (which made us nervous because we only had a 2 hour time slot).
Ghost Baby is really cool underground spot. We found out about this place from the bartenders at Agigail Street so we decided to check it out. The entrance is in an alley, you can either use the elevator to get down or walk down the stairs. Shout out to Big T the boucner for being so kind. When you first enter, there is a large bar with its own drink menu, different than whats served inside the music area. You do need reservations to get into the music area, we didnt know that going in since we were from out of town. We were told reservations are made months in advance so we didnt really have high hopes of being able to get it but we were pleasantly surprised. We talked to the hostess and she was able to squeeze us in between reservations which was awesome. The inner bar was awesome, they gave us complimentary mini espresso shots which were served inside these chocolate little boats, so fun. I also had the best drink, #4, inspired by the pornstar martini but purple, it had Ketel One, Licor 43, passion fruit, ube, vanilla, lemon and prosecco. We loved listening to the live music, and everyone was so kind. Servers Logan, Vicente & Travis were 5 star.
Cool place with a vibe that you can't find anywhere else! The drinks are all pretty interesting and the menu is big enough for anyone to find something they like. Just note that there is no food and you need to make a reservation in advance if you really want to go for sure. I went on a Thursday and they had live music, which was an awesome band. The only reason I'm giving four stars is because if you're seated towards the front right by the live music, which I was, it was really difficult to talk to the people around you because the acoustics made it very loud. Overall, it's a really cool, different place to go for a drink or two at night and it's something that I would recommend everybody in Cincinnati try at least once.
What a unique spot! Make sure to have a reservation, they are busy on weekends. The interior is dark and a bit cozy. They serve drinks only. I had a #5, the presentation and taste were both great!
I love the name alone. Like who names a place Ghost Baby?! Cool right. And I love the exclusivity of this place. I mean you can tell it's a secret place just from the location and the doorman outside. It's a basement level jazz lounge like 4 flights down and has been around since Prohibition. I was recommended to come here by one of the locals as they said it's a hot spot and has a sexy scene which is very true. Dim lighting. Tasty drinks. There's no video allowed or flash photography. Wasn't sure why. I think because of the age of the place. But thank god for iPhones. I'd definitely come back the next time I'm in town.
Ghost baby- was super cute. There are people who open the door for you and lead to take the elevator or the steps. If you choose the steps you will be going down, down and down until you get to your location. The front room is for people to come and just chill if they don't have any reservations. If you have a reservation you have a guaranteed seat with live music in the front. The bar tenders were super friendly. I ordered an espresso martini made with tequila and it was great. Next time I will make reservations so I can enjoy the full experience.
Best date night experience so far in Cincinnati! This is the pace to be if you want a super cool ambiance and great drinks. Tho show experience was amazing highly recommend for a great night make sure you make reservations ahead of time!
Full two stars for the unique ambience here...the rest? Well, must have been an off night for my visit and my family. Got there around 5:40 for a 6pm reservation, so we needed to wait in the bar area. It was very nice in there, but got quite busy and loud...hard to even hear yourself talk loud. I was happy to get inside for our reservation and we had a great table...but it was so hot in there. Mind you...this is October in Ohio..and it felt like Florida in there...strike one. We all ordered espresso martinis...the price point was good... the pour was not. As I looked around, nearly everyone had a drink poured to the rim...ours were about half full...strike two. Music finally came on after a 45 minute pause...yes you heard it...45 minutes....i am a musician, I know that is way too long to have people wait out sets. We expected something good after a long wait...perhaps some jazz...or a nice acoustic set...nope...for a Saturday night on a home game weekend they brought in a three piece band with...get this....a harmonica, a steel guitar and a guitar player who could not sing for his life. People were leaving in droves....strike three....we followed quickly after and went down to the Hilton where the situation improved drastically!! Like I said...I guess we came the wrong night!
Ghost Baby is so much fun! We had reservations at 4:15pm on a Saturday to see the 4:30pm show. Four of us were seated in a comfy booth and the server came right over. She was attentive for the entirety of our 1 1/2 hour visit (that's how long you can reserve a table). The drinks were tasty and the jazz trio was good. The atmosphere is very authentic to a speakeasy jazz club. This is a great place to take out of town guests to show them how cool Cincinnati is!
I will say this: if I lived in Cincinnati then I would definitely be coming here very often. It was a super dope spot with an amazing vibe . First things first, if you're going to go you are probably just going to be doing street parking. Parking is not hard to find, especially if you're going to do that at a later hour is going to be free on the street so that part is no problem at all. You're going to come in and you're going to get greeted by security. Now he'll give you a choice: take the steps or take the elevator. If you are not a fan of steps, then don't do that because it's probably 5 stories down lol . I enjoy it so it's not a big deal for me but if you have an issue or you have heels, you may want to take the elevator because it's going to feel like you're going into the dungeon lol. When you finish taking the journey you're going to go ahead and navigate to the first part, which is going to be the large bar area. It looks like it's very old and rustic but it has a very nice bar feel and a very nice vibe to it. The bar is pretty sizable and there are tables around there so you can sit at the bar or sit at tables on either side. They have an ample amount of space so that isn't an issue at all . The bartender seemed to be super friendly even though that's not where I stayed. I went to the next room, which is going to have the location that you have all of the performances at. We were walking in and the performance was getting revved up. It was amazing and it was a super dope vibe. I loved it. Again if I lived here, I would definitely make this a spot on my regular rotation. Now in the performance area, you definitely have a bar there so you can actually get drinks no matter where you are. Don't expect food though. It's a nice spot to go for drinks on a night out, or a date night, or in a group setting where you don't mind music in the background . The hostess was able to seat everybody at the table and they came right away with the menus and the water and proceeded to navigate the drink situation. I had wine so that was pretty much where I was sitting during my time there but they had a couple different things that looked very intricate and very craftworthy . But what stole the show was the performance. Even though I know that that's not going to be the same performer every night, it gave a certain amount of energy that was amazing! I loved it from beginning to end and I'm kind of mad that I missed it a little bit but it was awesome. The performance was good and the crowd work was just as good. Overall this place is a 5-star situation for me. The only thing that I had a problem with was the fact that my phone signal was bad because, clearly, I was 4 stories in the earth lol. Really it was a really good time and if you like live music, tuck-away speakeasy cocktail vibes, or old-school stage performances with a live band, this is definitely going to be your bag! read more
Surely coming into this speakeasy was a great idea! I had plenty to choose from, but this one stuck out. Of course I located on Yelp. Easy to locate, free street parking, safe neighborhood. It's a melting pot for sure. Once we walked in, we were greeting by a gentleman who inquired if we had reservations, yadda yadda yadda. Nah. They had room for us, it was after 12am. We caught the elevator down and ventured in. Great décor and vibe. The bar was lively. We chose the velvet seats against the wall. Hubby and I ordered the following. The Ghost's Favorite & my request for "Something Sweet w Whiskey". Both beverages did what they were supposed to do. Very tasty, pleasing and a great sip. I didn't catch my bartender's name but he was very nice and a stellar mixologist. I highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a chill place to vibe w a beverage. Only downfall, it was 40° in there. We were freezing !! I'd still return, I'll just bring a coat next time. Lol read more
Ehhhhh, this pains me to have to write this, but it must be done. I have given this place multiple tries, and a few years, to try to get it right, but it just totally misses the mark sadly. The drinks are not interesting or well-made, it is way too loud, the service is extremely poor and all of this honestly ruins the experience. The music talent has also been subpar on every single occasion. My last visit within the last month will definitely be our final visit. A friend requested to go here for his retirement and even though I was skeptical, I made reservations two months in advance. Upon arrival, you aren't greeted welcomed or graciously at the top of the stairs. For a special place of this caliber, do better with your first impression. Upon checking in downstairs, the hostesses couldn't be more bored. Upon being sat at our table, facing the stage in the middle of the room on hard chairs, we requested to move to one of the booths that are more comfortable and clothed. We were there earlier in the evening on a weekday, had a reservation, and there were plenty of booths available. In fact, every single booth was available. We nicely explained that someone in our group had a spinal issue. The hostess, who did not care about much of anything, said those were reserved. We said we had a reservation too. He said if folks did not show up for those he would let us move to one. Did those boots ever get full? No? Did the Host ever check in with us and act like he cared? Also, no. Did we go track him down an hour later when one of our guests was in severe pain asking to be moved? No, we did ask our server, but she made no efforts to help us. So, we left. We did spend an hour listening to the live music. It was a pretty uninteresting show, and no one in the space was even paying attention. That is not usually my experience in most jazz or music venues. The cocktail list was super uninspired by any standard. The cocktails remind me of a cheesy 90s club. I finally ordered a tiny shot of something in a little chocolate shell. The chocolate shell tasted good. Our group had a long history with 1313 Vine. The retiring person in our group used to party in the building above when it was the infamous Warehouse. In 2012, we really enjoyed going into the space as part of the Cincinnati underground tour when it was still a beer tunnel. This is a special space, but the lack of even decent service consistently over the years, poor music talent, and uninteresting drinks are doing this incredible venue, a sincere disservice. Perhaps the novelty of the location makes it easy to overcome all of the above, but not for us. read more

Ghost Baby is a whole vibe! I'm ALWAYS here for a good vibeeee! Our hotel recommended it, so we decided to pull up after the Miguel concert. When we arrived, security told us reservations were required--but once we explained we were from out of town and didn't know, he let us in. He told my friend that he couldn't wear his jersey inside so my friend took his jersey off and he should have let us in and not him because he had all the stains on his white t-shirt from the night The speakeasy area was fire. There's a reservation-only section in the back with actual tables like a restaurant (cocktails only), and I will be back for that. I noticed the cutest cocktails with little ghosts and fun details, so I asked the bartender about them. She said those are usually just for the reservation section--but she still made one for me anyway I got a blueberry lemon drop and it was sooo good. Everyone was incredibly nice, the atmosphere was perfect, and it's definitely a super cute date-night spot for drinks. 10/10 recommend! read more

What a great vibe! We came for a friends birthday and the ambience was such a speakeasy! The live music and the drinks were amazing. Make sure to make a reservation because it fills up quickly. Definitely worth going for a drink and then going to dinner. Such a great recommendation. read more
If you're looking for a fun date night spot out, or like what we did for a girls night out, Ghost Baby lives up to the hype. The cocktails were a bit too pricey in my opinion, but also the crafted drinks they offer are curated and crafted so well. Service was attentive and our server was quick to make recommendations based upon our tastes. While it was quite loud during the band, and we weren't able to talk, the bar before being seated at a table may be more your speed if you're looking to have a conversation. That said, make sure you get a reservation well in advance. We were able to a few days out, but only limited to 4 or 4:15 pm (which was fine with us), but if you're looking for later, it's worth booking out well in time. read more

My wife and I enjoyed cocktails and live music with another couple. You'd be hard-pressed to find a more unique space. We were in the inner room with the stage, while the outer room with the larger bar was available for those not there for the music. read more

Incredible experience, especially knowing the history of what used to be in the Cincinnati "tunnels". If you can get into this place, make a reservation & check it out! Whether you're at the bar or one of the tables, you'll have a great time with the music & the overall vibes of the place. They don't serve food, but their drinks are incredible! First time at Ghost Baby. We really enjoyed the jazz band that was there. They were playing Princess and the frog songs and their singers were absolutely fabulous. The drink I had was very sweet and sour. It was delicious. It tasted just like candy. Our server was nice. She told us a little bit about the history of the building and she was very attentive and checked back often. read more

Make the reservation! Live music on a Saturday Night. Grab your girls, your boys, your partner or your people! Interesting cocktails in a unique atmosphere with superb service. You will not be disappointed! The "Samoa" shots should be endorsed by the girl scouts themselves. Liquid cookie delicious gold. Worth the $7.00. #8 "Inspired by the Dessert" is a funky little guy who comes with it's own treat to pair! Always the best vibes and a great place to take out of town visitors! The staff is always friendly, but I will say service can be a little slow. They are never not busy and the live music is always a great addition. Make sure to have reservations if you want to sit down. The drinks are always on point here! read more

Always love taking visitors to ghost baby! I recommend making a reservation in advance to secure your spot since it's typically pretty booked in the music area. We were able to walk in for the bar and got lucky with a table. The drinks are a little pricy but the experience is worth it read more
