LOVE. I love record stores in general but this one really is something special. A true high desert gem. I went in to sell records, something I was anxious about cause pawn stores and other record stores can sometimes lowball. I was helped by Daniel. He took time the time to look through all the records and I was compensated more than expected. They offer cash back or store credit. The environment is authentic. They have a great selection. Also, a tattoo studio in the back of store! Don't see that often. I've only been here once before and then was helped by another employee, but both times the customer service was top tier. I love this place! Besides the cool musoc to look through, there are vintage clothes and other things made by local artisans.

Pretty great selection of new and used music. Employees seem to keep busy or to themselves unless you're a known regular, which is pretty nice if you just want to look without being bothered. Their new arrivals is always flush with new and used additions that cycle regularly. My only gripes are the that new record pricing is usually higher than online (yeah, it comes with the territory of being a local record shop), and their used will be priced AT or above the Discogs Med estimates, regardless of condition. There's usually some really great used titles in there, but if the price seems reasonable, it's likely in shabby shape and hasn't been cleaned. Overall, this is the BEST record store in the High Desert, by far. I would go a lot more if there were the occasional score. read more

We love this place! Got our kids into vinyl but they're also getting into cds and this place has tons of options! I love their "new vinyl" posts on Insta! It gets us every time lol. One of those rarified minimall record stores one might float into after one gummie too many and for a second ask yourself "how the f@$k did I end up back in Highland Park?" I don't give these guys enough praise, but it is well deserved. Literally a "mom & pop shop" (the store is run by a local family), this is by far my favorite record store. They have quite an impressive selection, divided by genre and price point (if you're patient and dig enough, you can often find gems in their bargain sections) and are super friendly and fun to talk to. Plus, it's right here in the High Desert! I hope they stay around forever--my kids also love visiting. read more

I was driving down the road and accidentally found this hidden gem of a record store! I automatically had flashbacks of Tower Records, however at a smaller and more personal level. Darby is really cool people and was actually able to help me find a couple of CD's which I've been looking for sometime now! Their record selection is great and I can't wait to visit once again, in order to shuffle through all of their vinyl! I say definitely check them out!! read more

First of all, great atmosphere, really chill place. My son bought a new record and apparently they had a problem with packaging. In the record there was 2 of the same records. Both disc 1. (Manufacturer Issue). Wisecrack was really surprised but they were super cool and let us exchange with no hassle. I was so happy with their service I ended up buying 2 more records and surprise to me my 3 year old likes Iron Maden. Wisecrack's prices are pretty reasonable as well. Saw there was a local independent record store opening up close to my house. I've been excited to check out the store and last night we stopped in. Very cool interior of the store and the guy that was working was excited to explain to us about the new store. They have a lot of vintage stuff for sale in there along with new presses. I picked up some vinyl, a Velvet Underground and a Jethro Tull Aqualung to add to my collection. It looked like they had a lot of inventory and according to the guy who worked there over the next few weeks they will have even more. So far it seems like they are on the right track with their business and I would love to see it flourish. The HD needs more places like this. read more

Wisecrack feels like home. My first time visiting and I will definitely be back, I ended up picking up 8 or so records and most of them were 2.50-10 dollars. I am always down for deals, especially when it comes to vinyls. The associates are friendly, they have a pretty good selection and deals are second to none. This record store is great! So glad to have one up here near by that carries new vinyl as well as the classics c: everything is organized nicely and seems like it's gonna be a good spot to get a specific record you're looking for rather than just hoping to get lucky at a second hand shop which is dopeee for the high desert.
