I don't collect 45s or 12" remixes, so I didn't check those out. As for the vinyl, he has a good collection with a wide mix of albums from different genres and decades. But all of them are pretty overpriced - not just for the quality of the record but in comparison to other shops. I saw records that you can easily find a VG or VG+ copy for $15-20 priced double that or more. As well, it doesn't appear that they clean their records as the several that I got were very dirty. All in all a nice shop and nice people but I won't shop there again because of the very inflated pricing. read more

Where would the city's good folks be without the exceptionally well curated inventory at Noriega? I believe they would be without soulpower. The collection of 45s at Noriega is well worth the trip. Mike, the owner, happens to be a sage of the genre of soul music, and soul 45s. He possesses an impressive collection of soul music. Anyone in the store when Mike happens to be spinning one of his rare 45s is in for unadulterated sonic pleasure. Mike traveled all over the US and the UK buying up soul before it got hot internationally. My guess is big Mike has one of the better soul music collections in the state, if not the nation. I have seen buyers begging Mike to let a few records go from his personal cache of soul records. Sometimes Mike will sell, if the price allows him to maintain or add to his outstanding vinyl horde. Years of buying and selling shaped Mike into a tactful salesperson too. I have enjoyed buying records from him when I've had time to stop by. His son, Andrew sometimes runs the store too; Andrew sold me a Billy Stewart record from his personal collection at a fair price. I highly suggest asking Mike or Andrew for a vinyl recommendation. Really had a great experience with this record shop. My 13 year old son just got a new record player for his birthday and all he wants is vinyl records. We found this hidden gem and my son purchased a record with his birthday cash. We got home to play it and it skipped. We came back for an easy exchange but again came home to more skips. Both records were sealed. I worried my son would not get his money back after these return visits but instead, Mike took care of it and wanted us happy. We are very grateful for his understanding and willingness to educate us rookies about new vs old vinyls, record players and record player needle types. Very informative. Thank you 100X Mike!! So wonderful to have a local Vinyl record store with a great selection of all genres of music. While there I picked up a portable rechargeable player so I can play my records everywhere. I use it in my Motorhome, at a hotel or by the pool. Prices are very reasonable and the employees are extremely knowledgeable. They even ordered a few old favorite albums for us and shipped them!! Wow! amazing place to find your favorite records! Especially quality records in near mint and very good condition. I have been looking and looking for records of the #Carpenters especially their first album from 1969. Which I have been searching for a number of years. Last week I got a text from Mica saying he found a copy of it as well as some other albums. I was excited and looking forward to hearing the album. Beautiful condition, the price was reasonable and the quality of the record was amazing! They are AWESOME. Not only is their selection on point, but they also pay attention to small details like placing 45s in their sleeves with the label right side up for easy reading. May not sound like a big deal, but it makes the labels easier to read, and saves a lot of time while digging. The two gentlemen working there were also friendly and helpful.
