Our first time here tonight during the Christmas parade on 2nd St and Second Saturday art walk. Good selection though perhaps overpriced for the vinyl? It was not the most pleasant experience/visit. I tried to make small talk about music a few times with one of the employees and it was clear that he did not want to engage in the least. Record stores are one of my favorite places for going to chat about music, and was quite saddened by this visit. I found a few records at great prices, which somewhat made up for the lack of enthusiasm. I would recommend visiting Dr Strange records a few more miles down the road instead. I attended record store day for the first time ever today here at Zoinks Records. I arrived early to make sure I got what I wanted and it was worth it because I got everything I wanted. I made sure to call to keep up with the stock and titles they were going to carry and the communication was great. Robert helped me out today and even though he was alone (when I was there) my experience was smooth and he got me out of the store quickly. His system for purchasing RSD exclusive titles was fair so I appreciate that as well. I will definitely be back and highly recommend checking them out! read more

Zoinks is a properly operated and most worthy record store. I regularly find quality funk, disco, and house music here. Robert does an effective job of optimizing the inventory for this modest store front, and he is knowledgeable about most salient genres of music. I always check Zoinks when hoping to acquire another vinyl gem. Without a doubt, Zoinks has one of the better collections I have seen, which is largely due to the efforts of its informed owner. I easterly await my next Zoinks sojourn as it's a perfect destination for the impassioned vinyl fanatic. We stumbled across this wonderful little gem in pomona. The last few times I came this place was close. They don't open til 3p but they stay open til 9! Our record collection has gotten .. a bit out of control. Haha we had to change our furniture around to fit all of our vinyls! With that being said we went to Pomona for food and not looking to buy any vinyl. This little gem was shining bright on a Wednesday night. As soon as we walked in my bf saw a Best Coast vinyl followed by a Strokes. So many cool finds!!!!! Like I said we weren't trying to buy anything so we were just browsing. Suddenly on the wall a bright light caught our attention. Could it be? An unopened Chromatics vinyl? First print?? For $100 we snagged this steal and added yet another banger to our collection. Looking for a small little shop that's full of round things that make noise well you have defiantly came to one of those places to find that! Zoinks is a small little record store with mostly vinyl located in the Arts Colony District of Downtown Pomona I've walked around this area many times over the years and never even noticed this small little shop which is surprising to me because I'm always on the hunt for new music stores! Inside that had a decent amount of music from several different styles most of which was priced alright when compared to places outside the area but when compared to other places in the area they were a few bucks more either way it wasn't too excessively pricy so you can't go wrong with that! Upon walking into the store the worker looked at me kinda awkward so I said what's up and got no reply not really sure why but I guess it must be the way of the store to give people the cold shoulder because I watched the whole thing happen again a few minutes after I came in as he then didn't be bothered to acknowledge the whole four people that were in the store definitely missing a sale on that one as we had just bought a few records at another store just around the corner. Either way I don't think I'd come back here again with the not so engaging service to the few bucks more situation I'd rather walk around the corner to another record store where the staff was super friendly and the records were a bit cheaper! If you do decide to venture inside Zoinks make sure you Check-In for a 10% off coupon that will save you a few bucks on your records! Based on recommendation, I finally stopped by this small but well stocked shop in the Art Walk section of an apparently revived Pomona (last time I rolled through there it was pretty nasty). I found street parking to be free and close by, which is a huge plus. I collect vinyl, so I was hoping to score some random gems to round out my collection. While they did not have as much punk as I hoped, their metal section was small, but contained some good discs, both used and reissue. When I wanted to hear a record that looked a tad worn, the clerk let me play it through the house turntable at the counter. He was a nice kid, and I ended up buying one or two LPs. I saw a few more I liked, so I will try my luck very soon to snag them. With Rhino Records not far away in Claremont, and Penny Lane Records a bit farther in Upland, music lovers can make a whirlwind tour of the area. In fact, I was returning to Riverside from Pasadena where I explored Poo Bah Records before hitting Zoinks. Support your indy stores folks, they are the honest sellers, and random luck abounds in their racks. read more

Nice little shop with vinyl and some CDs. I didn't get any CDs the last time I was there, but the prices were on point. I bought only one record while I was there and some plastic outer sleeves for the rest of my vinyl. They had some good tunes going like The Smiths and The Misfits! I recommend just for their good taste! read more

Nice small shop on the outskirts of the central district in Pomona. Always has good music playing in his store and I can always find some good cheap used records here and all the records are priced fairly which is a plus. Store owner isn't very talkative but I don't mind at all, he'll always help me when asked. read more

I was initially loving this place when I found some records that I was looking for. I saw a Master of Puppets record on the wall which of course record places typically have the rare and valuable ones on the wall. I bought it and upon taking it home and playing it I found that the Master of Puppets track was scratched which causes it to skip. I called a couple days later to ask about returning it just to be told all sales are final and that it's easy for the records to just be switched out (basically making me feel like I'm doing something shady) but that I could bring it by to be looked at. That pretty much said it all right there for me. I can understand all sales final on something 5 bucks or really banged up, but if you're going to have records on the wall that are the stand out or collectible finds, then you should at least listen to them and make sure they work if people are going to pay top dollar for them. Given the nature of the way the phone call sounded, I didn't see a point in bringing the record in. I doubt anything would have been done about it. All I know is that I'm never buying from there again, I'll stick with the Glass House Record store or Rhino Records, never had problems there. To be fair, I will say however, their new arrivals section are very impressive compared to other places, if you do decide to shop here, make sure you really look the record over and if you can, try and test it. read more

They say big and good things come in small packages,true that. This is another nifty little record shop located in the Arts Colony right across Antique Row.It may not look like much from the outside but this joint definitely has a copious amount of hidden gems for the true crate digger.So lotion up those hands boys and girls cause this is an old school milk crate hunt.Most of their open rows of vinyl are your basic rock to funk genres but if look closely there are several milk crates on the floor and countertops.This is where the joy of digging for the precious wax begins.I usually ask a lot of questions and from the information I gathered the crates are from the owners private collection and they are for sale.If you are looking for classic hi energy disco and twelve inch versions of your favorite new wave cuts,look in the crates.One may think the prices are a bit much but you go online and compare prices,they are pretty much spot on.So there it is fellow vinyl lovers I'm sharing the wealth and knowledge.Till next time,Peace read more

I walked on over here after checking out a flyer for this spot at Glass House Record Store. It's a small place, very unassuming inside, but there were more than a few choice finds to be had. There's also a sweet 10% offer just for checking in on your Yelp app. I was hoping to see more of a selection for metal and soundtracks, which are the two categories I browse the most. I did see a few gems that interested me, but nothing in particular that I had to have. It's definitely worth stopping in if you're browsing shops in the neighborhood. read more

This might be my new favorite record store. I've passed it many many times, always thinking it was closed. However, after following them on IG, I saw a post of a record I've been looking for for years, and finally made my way in. I will tell you what impressed me. The selection is somewhat random, but very well curated. I found many records I've wanted but have never seen in person. Secondly, each record I checked out was spotless, looking brand new even. And I wasn't looking at the expensive collectible whatever ones on the walls, I was looking at the random $1-$5 dollar records. While I was shopping, I noticed the salesman (owner?) standing at the counter cleaning records by hand, the entire time I was there. As a person who loves older, used vinyl, this attention to detail is really appreciated. I got a great stack of records, at really great prices, and they were all bagged and cleaned. This is why this might be my new favorite record store. I'll update in few months to see if the standard holds consistently, but so far I'm VERY impressed. read more

Update on 6/10/15. Yea the one star rating still stands. The upside? I was actually able to visit them as they had the door unlocked and the place staffed during the hours in which they claimed to be open (what a novel concept). The downside? They had almost nothing in the shop that was of any value. Their small record collection could be called eclectic if you were being nice. I could discern no real theme or genre to the collection other than "your parents old shit that you see at Goodwill". read more

I went in and it was definitely smaller than I thought. However, there was no one else there and the one employee pretty much kept to himself. I got a nice Fourtet record and a fantastic Vince Guaraldi album. They also sell CDs. I spoke to the employee and he told me that the area favors more metal and grungy rock so they don't much hip hop or electronic. But I was still really satisfied with my experience. read more

Really cool selection of records, CDs, and shirts, nice employees but several days after using our cards to make purchases here my friend and I both had the number stolen so if you really must have something I would recommend paying in cash. Such a bummer cause I loved the shop, but the credit card fraud not so much. I liked it so much I bought a zoinks shirt but now feel I can't even wear it. I don't know if yelp will count this as a conflict of interest or not, but I feel people should know what's up. I really don't think it was a coincidence that this is the only place that my friend and I both used our cards then both had fraud occur around the same date and time. So I'd say use your card at your own risk here. read more
