What a great little mom-and-pop type place, has that small town feel to it. Staff there were friendly and the service was super quick! Omelette was on the larger side and so was the portion of home fries. Usually the coffee in places like this isn't very good however that was NOT the case here, it was actually pretty good, definitely fresh made. Would recommend if you're in the area. read more

Good food cooked just as I requested in a "mobster" decor diner; horribly slow, but friendly, service. I'd like to note they fid note that they are short staffed and looking for help... Hopefully this will help to speed up service. I ordered one egg oe, one slice bacon crispy, one sausage and one piece of french toast. Everything was cooked just as ordered and the french toast was perfectly cooked using a nice thick slice of texas toast. The french toast was my favorite part because I had pretty horrible french toast last time I ordered it out (not here). My friend got the philly cheese steak and was disappointed because she was expecting the orange oozey cheese, not an actual slice of real cheese which I think was provolone, but she didn't specify. She also ordered it without the peppers and onions. I would have loved it since it was real cheese... If I go here again I think the philly cheese steak might be my choice... So I have a friend who often tells me how amazing this diner is. I happen to be free and hungry the other day when I was in the area so I decided I would give it a try. All I can really say was that it was meh. They did cook my eggs correctly which was over medium, most places screw this up and I get over hard or overewsy. So points there. The toast was oddly squished, the bacon was on its last legs to be sure but tasted okay. The home fries were seemingly out of a fryer which I'm not a huge fan of as opposed to actual potatoes, chopped up and cooked on a griddle. I live around the corner but drive past it each weekend because the 5 times we've tried it in the past 7yrs we have been unhappy,, and today will absolutely be our last try!! The food is blah if not nasty and also overpriced.. The owner/server is rude and unwelcoming!! I do not believe that I have ever seen a smile on her face, she makes you feel like you are bothering her if you ask for mustard or something, and she tries her hardest to not refill your coffee! She may want to self reflect on why her restaurant is always empty while those around her (peppermill, karins lake haven, mel's, and ezzys) are all difficult to even get into on the weekend. If it were possible to give 0 stars, I would. I rarely give 1 stars but this place.... I could NOT. First, we walked in at 1:00. An hour before closing. They handed us breakfast menus, and walked away. My hubs was disappointed because he was craving a hot meatloaf sandwich. we considered just leaving so we could go to another diner and get what he wanted. However, the 80 year old lady running the place that day brought over a lunch menu after a few minutes, so we decided to stay. We both ordered a lunch combo - which is a sandwich, a side, and a soft drink. He ordered the hot meatloaf sandwich, fries, and a coke. I ordered a burger, onion rings, and a cherry coke. About 10 minutes later; she came back and said the cook "couldn't find" the meat loaf. So he switched his order to breakfast, just eggs, hash and toast. He was so disappointed. The cook was making the orders one by one this whole time, so we didn't get our food until 1:50. No joke. And during the 40 minutes we waited, the 80 year old waitress never brought us our drinks. So I paid extra for a "combo" that I didn't get all the parts to. The burger was a frozen hockey puck that he cooked the crap out of, and a hard roll that was way too big for that small amount of meat. Who knows the last time the oil was changed, because the fries were so brown and disgusting I didn't even eat them all. And my husbands eggs were rubbery, toast burnt. So.... no drinks, not what my husband wanted, and overcharged for food that was barely edible. Never again. Idk how this place is still in business. read more

i truly have no idea how the ratings for this store could've possibly make it anywhere under at least 4.5 stars. i got the pot roast breakfast plate and it was absolutely incredible, and it's a plate you can't even find anywhere else in town. 5/5 stars, top quality food for an exceptional price. read more

Food was hot on delivery from GrubHub, including the added side of hollandaise. Big pieces of red and green peppers in the veggie omelette. They didn't skimp on any of the veg. This was the worst dining experience I've had in a while. We live so close to this place and every time we pass by we said "oh we should try wise guys sometime". Well today we did and I wish we hadn't. I was craving a meatloaf sandwich so we assumed they would have something similar. We walk in at 1pm and they hand us a breakfast menu. Like WTF is this. We ponder over the menu and just decided on water. We couldn't find anything that sounded good and my wife says let's just leave $2 on the table and go. The waitress which had to be in her 80s came right up and asked would you like a lunch menu. We said yes and I ordered my meatloaf with a root beer. Wife ordered burger and onion rings with a cherry coke. About 10 mins later the waitress comes over and says we don't know were the meatloaf is... So I ordered two eggs scrambled and corned beef hash. I knew it was coming because we can literally here every word being said in the kitchen. As were sitting at the table I assume the owner walks to our table in sweatpants sweating to death asking how everything was. We literally only have water.. yup the waters great. About the only thing that's edible to be honest. Finally we get our food 45 mins later. The cook was only cooking one order at a time. Wife got a burger that was like a hockey puck so thin and burnt with a huge bun. The onion rings were so dry as well. As for my eggs they were rubbery and the hash was crispy but gray looking. I also didn't order toast but some how ended up getting white toast that was so dry it was hard to eat. We never got our sodas and never a refill on our waters and as we leave I'm so pissed off that this horrible experience cost me $18. Im still hungry needing more food. I'm sure I'm forgetting a lot so I'll wait for my wife to post her review and I'll get more pissed and need to write more. Ugh Im so angry. Please don't come here. read more

Good experience I had the breakfast garbage plate and it was excellent. Friendly service. My apologies for not taking a picture of the fantastic meal, but I instinctively dug right in :-) Guess there will have to be a next time to get a photo. We chose the place because they were open earlier than our usual place and we needed somewhere that was open at 6:30 am. I was surprised at the price though. First time ever trying you guys. I had the royal flush and oat meal. My hubby had ham egg and cheese bagel and corn beer hash. The bagel sandwich was okay the egg could be cooked a little bit differently. The corned beef hash was delish. The eggs and the royal flush we're good bacon was cooked awesome your pancakes a little thick but the good your toast I was kind of expecting that to come with jelly it was good anyways overall the first day of trying you guys it wasn't bad. I eat several times a week @ Wise guys Diner. I have never had a bad meal. The portions are large and filling. The Meat Loaf is my Favoriate. They have a Steak sandwich that is out of this world. Where else can you ger eggs, ham, bacon or sausage toast, homefries and Coffee for $4.05 no place that i know of. The service is great! read more

I love supporting my small local businesses as much as anyone else. Wise Guys had mostly great reviews. I ordered a wise guys plate to go with 3 over easy eggs (paid $1.00 for an extra), home fries, bacon, cheese (or lack thereof), and wheat toast. The eggs were over HARD, the yolk didn't run at all. The toast was literally just a piece of floppy bread. I tried picking at it, but ultimately threw the whole thing away- a total waste of food and money. I would NOT recommend. read more

Nice little family run restaurant that is very accommodating has a good selection on their menu they are biker friendly so if you should arrive on motorcycles you will be welcomed. This is not repeat NOT a biker hang out but don't be surprised if you see motorcycles in the parking lot they are also great supporters of American veterans and the Patriot Guard Riders of New York I can tell you from experience that their omelets are awesome and your coffee cup never goes dry I would highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for a great meal at a reasonable price read more

My husband and I went there Sunday morning for breakfast. Never again we ordered and finally got our food a good 30 40 minutes later I could see that if they were really busy but there wasn't that many people there. My husband had to asked a couple times for coffee refills. The so called home fries are nothing but deep fried frozen potato chunks very bland no flavor at all. And very greasy. The prices are too high for what they wanted for an omelet I could get steak and eggs other places. Never again. read more

We used to go here once a week for breakfast. The food was always hot & a decent amount & a reasonable price. We stopped going because it seemed as if we were interrupting the staff's chat time with friends and family. The owner would bring us coffee and then stand with pen & pad in hand waiting for us to speak our orders. No hello or good morning or are you ready. Refills on coffee were sporadic. On one occasion I attempted to switch the empty pail for creamers but was told by a waitress that was not allowed. She dumped a full on into the empty one. I got the impression that there was a carefully designed plan based on color or pattern of the pails. On a different visit I made the mistake of asking to have my bacon coked a bit more as it was well under cooked. I could see the waitress was not happy about that. Gave it a few more ries but the staff continued to seem indifferent to pleasantness when it came to customers who only came in once a week. Be aware that the weekday 4.05 breakfast special is not available on holidays- MLK day, voting day, Valentines day or Presidents day. I don't know about St.Patrick's day. We have found another place that cost a bit more but the service is friendly by all the waitress regardless of being their customer or not. read more
