Horrible! Second time coming and they always get the order wrong. Didn't event give me the coffee I asked for. Onion rings uncooked. They forget half of your order sides. Charge you extra for Items they did not give you. You ask for something as part of your order and they forget about it, you may get it or they will bring it out 10 minutes later. Met my friend for breakfast today July 4th at 8:00 got right in & seated right away. Easy in and out parking and hostess was super nice. Waitress brought us coffee quickly which was hot & fresh, took our order and in no time our meals arrived. I had the Western Omelet which came with toast & home fries. Meal was delicious. My friend loved his breakfast as well. The breakfast was AMAZING. I got scrambled eggs, pancakes, bacon and toast with a french vanilla cappuccino. It was absolutely incredible. The coffee which has always been good, yesterday's coffee tasted week and old. We placed our orders, once we had our food, it was not even hot, it was cold. My siblings & I felt rushed for some reason. Once we left, we all talked about how different it felt than other times we've visited. Well, it was actually my brothers first time eating at Mt. I occasionally drive by Mt. Hope Diner and think to myself, I should go in there sometime and try it. I like diner food - especially on an evening when the time has gotten away and you just want that homemade meal you have no energy to put together yourself. I grew up going to diners a lot. Mom worked in a number of them during her years as a waitress, and we went out a lot because after serving people all day, she liked to be waited on once in a while. Having the recent opportunity to join some yelpers, I was thrilled to finally get the chance to stop in. And I wasn't disappointed. My first impression came immediately after pulling into the parking lot. It's a relatively small lot, and there were some drivers battling it out vehemently. I literally watched a woman yell at an old man to move his car so she could get out of the parking lot from the space she was in. She actually had plenty of room to move and let him go around, but that's beside the point. What's the point - parking is at a premium and it was displayed in this entertaining vignette (all the while others are honking at me to move when I couldn't go anywhere with those two duking it out!) Despite the fact that the place was hoppin' at 10am on a Saturday, my mates had already snagged a table, and there was no one waiting in line. The man behind the register was super friendly, and made me feel really welcome. I found our party, and felt that we got drinks rather quickly. Our server was perky, engaging and managed to get all our orders right. I ordered the cornbeef hash special with a bagel. I hadn't had hash in a while, and it was a little bit of a nostalgic moment there. It could have been done a little more, but I didn't specify so I have no complaints. The eggs were cooked to my liking (over hard) and I got refills on my hot water for tea. A diverse cast of patrons, great food, and a worn in homey decor filled with Americana and local memorabilia adorning the walls. Stopping in on a weekday around 10 AM or so, there was a good crowd, but plenty of tables available. I had some great steak and eggs with hash browns and Italian toast, while my partner tried the Eggs Benedict with the same. The pancakes were somewhat dry and tasted like mix from a box. The home fries were pretty good. Eggs were nothing spectacular. With the food not wow-ing me this time around, I truly appreciated the customer service! Funky diner in college town. If you haven't been there in a while, it is a far cry from the olden days when it used to be Pat N' Sandy's (anyone recall the old nickname? Props if you do). I've been here a few times to meet up with clients, and can say they deliver decent eats at a fair price. The last time we came here, however, the Duchess was not impressed with the way her Eggs Benedict came out... too lemony; however, I found my Sausage & Cheese omelet to be fairly tasty and the sourdough toast delivered warm & buttery. Coffee was on the weak side, however I did enjoy the "Nitro" coffee and found out later that my daughter also had the same reaction that I did. Over all, it's an average diner with good service. I primarily come for my diner favorites - eggs, toast, and sausage or a turkey club sandwich. The deli meat makes it - fresh and sliced thick, it comes with chips (in a bag) and pickle rounds. The omelets are huge and hearty - every combo you could imagine, plus extras on the specials list. The sourdough toast is delish and always my go-to. Plus, everything is affordable and homemade (like the corned beef hash!). This is a great stop if you're looking for a new diner to try, one that's been around for years. Great for anyone in the Mt. Ordered Uber Eats from here so this review will not cover what it is like to eat in here. I ordered a bacon and cheddar omelet along with bacon and sausage on the side. While the food itself was delicious and flavourful, I was disappointed to see how small the food portions were. For a diner, I was expecting more of a bigger portion size. I was still feeling somewhat hungry after finishing my food. I will say though that the prices are quite reasonable. Next time I'm in the Rochester area, while I won't necessarily avoid this place, if I find a better breakfast place, I think I'll go there over here. read more

I really used to like Mt Hope diner but the last couple of times I've gone I've been unimpressed. On Monday of Labor Day Weekend we got there (party of 2) and were told to sit anywhere open bc there was no line and a few open tables/booths. Aside from getting water pretty quickly,the service was EXTREMELY slow for a breakfast stop. It took awhile to place our order and when we finally did the wait was another 40 mins for 2 omelettes and one Belgian waffle! They did get busier during this time so I sympathize but by the time the food came my not so crispy "extra crispy" home fries were luke warm/on the cold side. It was disappointing but I doubt this will be my last visit bc I do love a diner breakfast and you can usually get a seat pretty easily in my experience. read more
