Egg & Cheese with Canadian bacon

Food and service very good! Mimosa was a great price. Corned beef hash was better than most places I've had.

I had the egg white Monterey omelet with extra artichokes, hash browns and pumpernickel toast.

We went for a late breakfast on a Monday. I liked the fact that we were greeted immediately and they were very friendly. We took our seat as the menus were already on the table. Our server was very nice and took our order quickly. I had the egg white Monterey Omelet and my husband had poached eggs with corned beef hash. As you can see from the pictures he enjoyed his meal. I loved the Omelet and the homefries but, the toast had an odd metal smell and didn't taste good. It is an open floorplan diner so you can see all the way into the kitchen. Along with booths and tables, they offer counter seating. Also, the Diner serves lunch and early dinner (starting at 3pm) and, they do serve alcohol. Overall, it's a very clean and cute diner with an excellent waitstaff!

For sure thought I had already reviewed this diner as I've been on many occasions, but there's a lot to love here! It's your classic greasy spoon kind of diner with an amazing staff/family and extensive menu. All day breakfast, which is key, includes benedicts, omelettes, eggs, pancakes, and more. There's some greek style specialties on the menu along with a robust list of sandwiches and wraps for lunches. On my last visit there were flies everywhere...and that's the vibe I kind of associate with this spot. A little hungover, a little buggy, a little hot...just generally not very glamorous. Which is not the point! And yet, the flies did bug me as I was stone cold sober. Anyways - great spot for quick coffee and breakfast and often less busy than it's neighbor, Highland Park Diner. Happy breakfast-ing!

Classic diner, clean, friendly, with a diner vibe: booths, tables, and a counter. We were welcomed and served coffee and tea quickly, and ordered after checking out the usual diner offerings. One in the group had the soup of the day and raved about it, we had the breakfast type offerings and everything exceeded expectations. And the pancake was fluffy and flavorful. The atmosphere was family friendly, clean, vibrant, like a movie set almost, matched by delightful service. We would return when in the area.

Northern Omelette w/ potatoes, rye bread, Coffee

Pretty good no frills diner breakfast food. Service was fast, friendly, and our coffee and water was always topped off before emptied. I had the Northern omelette w/ Canadian ham, bacon, peppers, onions, and cheddar cheese. Rye bread toast and potatoes on the side. Potatoes did not have much seasoning, but hot sauces, ketchup, salt, pepper, etc. are on each table. Prices are portions are reasonable.

Overall I had a pretty good experience at south wedge. The food is normal diner food nothing really to write home about though. The food was more warm than hot and it was a little bland for my particular taste but still a decent cheap meal. The one thing that was great about south wedge was the service! The food came out super fast like from order to in front of me made 15 min. The waitress was very pleasant and one of the most attentive servers I've had in a while.

All of the others who didn't measure up." But take heart! All it takes is taking off the glasses and letting its hair down, and suddenly you realize just how attractive and special Railway Station Diner really is! It's the quintessential reliable diner. Above average food. Below average prices. Regulars. A counter. Good service. Quick service. The Mediterranean frittata was wholesome and filling. The ingredients, fresh. It came with roast (up charge for raisin toast, but worth it!). The breakfast sandwich with shred, too, was perfectly proportioned; the crunch of the English muffin and the squish of the sausage balanced each other exactly equally, like Neo and Smith in that third Matrix movie. But the true hidden gem was the muffin. Cut in half and grilled. With sugar crystals! Not too big. Not too small. Not so sweet as to be dessert-like. Just perfectly sweet enough to make you not regret "going savory" by getting the frittata as your main course. Next time you're asked about the best diners around, make sure Railway Station Diner is part of the pantheon.

There is someone just circling constantly with a pot. This is a cash only establishment, so be advised. There is an ATM. We did go at slightly off peak times, since we weren't working those days, but at those times, the restaurant seems to be a favorite of retired men, which is a good sign for a diner! They have a set menu and a specials board that I think changes daily. There's 2 full pages of breakfast, and at least 2 pages of lunch, plus the board. I'm sure you'll find something you like. I had the same thing both visits - a cheese omelet with hashbrowns and wheat toast. It was really cheesy, and I liked that it was a 2 egg omelet rather than 3, for me it was just the right size. We also split a piece of the rotating coffee cake, cinnamon walnut that day, and it was good - not too sweet, plenty of cinnamon. The guy had their 2-2-2 combo and was happy with that choice. For both of us, breakfast ran about $35, for 2 entrees and coffee, plus the cake.

All the staff we encountered in 2 dining experiences were incredibly friendly and hospitable. Best part is the food! Truly the star of this little local gem. Their breakfast selections are extensive, generously portioned and our choices were delicious. Again, we came here 2 days in a row. First day, we had omelettes. Western & greek. I had hashbrowns, hubby had home fries. Both were cooked perfectly. Crispy edges, soft & seasoned nicely. The next day, we came with our daughter. She has eggs benedict with side fresh fruit. Platter was huge with so much ham and potatoes with the eggs and Hollandaise, she couldn't finish it. Husband had an amazing special: a fried breakfast wrap with powdered sugar. Inside was everything! Pancake, eggs, sausage, cheese and hashbrowns. I had a bite, it was to die for. I chose the bacon cheeseburger omelette which i also loved. Our waitresses both times were attentive and so nice. Prices are good, portions are large! For breakfast, come here! And if there is a wait, I promise it's worth it!

Unfortunately, it turned into one of the worst restaurant experiences. We spent 2.5 hours total at the restaurant. After waiting an excessive amount of time, we watched two tables that arrived at least an hour after us receive their food first. When we politely asked if our ticket might have been missed, we were told those tables ordered before us, which simply wasn't true. We were then told the delay was because burgers take a long time but a nearly two-hour wait for a burger is pretty wild. It took about 25 minutes just for someone to take our drink order, and we were never asked if we wanted additional drinks. We had to flag staff down for everything. No ketchup, no hot sauce, nothing offered. The $30 mimosa flight served in tiny glasses also felt like a complete scam. When the food finally came, two people in our party were served 15-20 minutes before the other two, and the food was cold. One dish had completely raw eggs. When I let the server know I couldn't eat it, she came back and removed the meal from the bill, which was appreciated. However, the interaction itself felt tense and dismissive, which made an already frustrating experience worse. They did give us a round of breakfast shots to try to help pass the time which was appreciated. The food itself was disappointing overall. The breakfast burrito was basically all eggs with raw, bitter avocado, and my husband's burger was missing requested toppings. We also noticed food sitting in the service window while we continued waiting. The only person who was happy with their meal got the biggie fries an it was hot when it arrived. To make matters worse, the bathroom was unheated on an 18° day (feels like 2°) and not clean. We're a pretty chill, patient group and understand that kitchens get backed up but man, this experience completely missed the mark. Ironically, the cooks thanked us for our patience and servers said goodbye pleasantly on the way out. We honestly may have let a lot of this go if the service hadn't felt so dismissive when we calmly raised concerns.
