I like paciifca, yet this place can get bit crazy loud at times..but I suppose other than that its not too bad

Okay - I just simply need to go back to get the full experience! They have a pool table and darts in the back - my only criticism there being the one that is true of most bars - the darts table is so close to the pool table that if someone is playing pool, it is a bit too close to call to start throwing pointy things around. (that's my technical terminology). But they have a roaring fireplace that you can sit in front of (I so want to go back and and chill there) as well as a shuffleboard game. There is often live music ( we missed it due to our earlier arrival) and the general vibe is very laid back. It's a pretty nice neighborhood bar. The three stars instead of four is just because I didn't get to sit in front of the fire that day - so next time I go - I'll be there for the full experience. read more

My favorite bar of all time!!! I grew up in Pacifica and have since then lived all over, but still continue to love this place. They have popcorn, dog friendly, shuffleboard, pool, a huge drink menu, and always great bands.There are very nice, joking, fun bartenders. Krista is a new bartender and is full of so much energy. Sunday is free pool, but a lot of the time the bartenders will be super cool and open it up anytime. Dogs are also very welcome there. I am in love with this place!! read more

What really can I say about a bar in Pacifica? Not much... I walked into Winter's expecting to see Philo Beddoe and Orville Boggs from Every Which Way But Loose, sipping a couple of cold Budweisers . To my suprise I saw numerous Rosemary Shanahans drinking Miller Lite and Zima . This Bar has potential if the individual who books the bands can bring some good talent. In the restroom I really enjoyed seeing a vending machine with French Ticklers for sale, only 50 cents a piece. What a fantastic deal! read more

Went here with my friend on 3-16-14 10pm'sh. My friend asked me earlier at 8:45pm where is Amanda, I said " Winters" and both decided to visit her at this bar for karaoke. It's a dive bar, Amanda recognized us when were sitting at the bar area. The bartender allowed us to sample the pilsener before I purchased the beer, my friend didn't like it, so I ordered pacifico ($5). I sang 3 songs and the crowd was moving to the beat. After both of us finished the beer, decided to get a long island, $7 each, bartender heard other evenings was more, he made it correctly. Afterwards the kj had a drawing, I won a green irish cap, green mug and two sets of green beeds--this was totally unexpected. read more

Historically a biker-bar/truckstop along Hwy 1, the vestiges of this bygone identity are still evident in the Harley paraphernelia tattooed all over the inside of this tavern. The bartenders and some patrons are decorated in like fashion. From my experience and contrary to popular perception of the biker/trucker bar- they are cool, accommodating and are are comprised mainly of laid back beach locals there for the great music and a pint or two of their great selection of brew on tap and bottle. I like this place. I came in here for the first time on a thursday night and there was a band on stage rocking out. The bar is nice and long and they have free popcorn. There were two people playing shuffle board in the middle of the bar and there is a pool table and what looked like a dart room in the back. The drinks were good (beer wasn't stale) and the bartender was very nice to us. I'm still looking for a drinking spot in Pacifica and Winters is the front runner right now. read more

More than once, we've had one foot in the door and didn't quite make it in. There's a very distinct crowd that hangs out here and we didn't quite fit the mold. On New Years, we did a Pacifica Bar tour and this was one of my favorite stops. We had a large group and the scene here was super fun! The decorations, favors and music was really enjoyable. If you're looking for a bar in the evening to chat, this is the place for you. They do have live music regularly that runs till closing time (we used to live right around the corner). read more

my first (and only, thus far) impression of winters tavern is probably impaired by all of the alcohol i had consumed by the time i set foot in it. as the last stop on our p-town bar crawl, we walked into winters a rowdy bunch that fit right in with the other patrons. the clientele is what you would expect from a dive bar - a quirky melange of all skill sets and demographics - a very friendly bunch (or maybe just big fans of my fugly christmas cardigan?). there is a shuffleboard table and guinness AND cider on tap (i heart black velvets). the restrooms are by the entrance. i made the mistake of believing it was by the dartboard and stupidly walked in front of a couple's game. winters is a place where you can be a hot mess but still wake up the next day with no regrets. just ask everyone in the fugly sweaters who woke up in my living room the next morning. read more

this is a cool bar. the LindaMartians were there last night and they are a good time. Full bar with a really nice bartender, pool table, darts, shuffle board and clean bathrooms, at least the girls is clean. I grew up down the street from this bar, and I was always very curious to go inside. I moved away from the area for like 11 years and now I'm back. Went to the beer pong night and it was a blast. Great mixture of people from out of town and locals, and everyone seemed to be getting along perfectly. Also, the bartender gave me incorrect change in my favor so you may leave with more money than you came in with. read more

I love a good dive bar and Winters came through as such. I had driven by a few times but being new in the area i was reluctant to stop in. Finally i was with my uncle who was visiting and he wanted to go see some 'local color' so i thought, "Bingo! Here's my chance to explore a local dive!" The bar is your typical small town bar with a good juke box and stiff drinks. How often do you see shuffleboard in a bar anymore?! It was dark and smelled of old beer. Just the way i like it. The crowd was small and mixed at 8PM on a Wednesday. Mostly local drunks, people after work and a few fishermen from the pier all wetting their whistles very happily. Good beer on tap and the taps "seemed" clean but no way to tell easily. I saw also on the board behind the bar that they showed the Couture vs. Lesner UFC fight which is ground for 5 stars. I love the UFC and am always looking for a good place to watch it. Overall great bar although I haven't been on big nights like friday or saturday. I could see the crowd being on the rowdy side, but i got no bad vibes from Winters. It's a great bar after work. Nice and relaxing dark bar to chill at. read more

First of all, it's in Pacifica and close to the water, so your view coming and going will be gorgeous. We left at sunset. Both times I've been it was very late afternoon/early evening on a Saturday, and there were just a handful or two of other mellow customers at this dark and divey but cosy bar. The bartender was very easygoing and attentive, and her drinks have been strong and tasty. They've got a little fireplace going, sports on the tv, a pool table, darts, and...drumroll, please... shuffle board, which is the big allure for me. I definitely want to come back, and recommend getting there on the early side for a fun, peaceful atmosphere if the noise and crowds mentioned in other reviews don't happen to appeal to you. read more

Live music and dancing is a rare and special sign to see. Better yet to see it on a Sunday in my town. Winters will surpise you. I've chanced a visit twice to pop in and hear the band. Valentine's night was prefection because I had encouraged friends to have an unconventional evening and we didn't drive far. I love bar popcorn and the beer tastes helped me get into some high octane brews. I think the best time to be there is midday with the doors wide (explains the middle of the room flues) and the pickers pickin. Great place to hang w a group of friends, maybe I'll start checking out the canned beer for happy hour. read more

I came here with a couple friends, we were having a great time playing pool, darts and had about 6 beers between us. They had live music and we were super excited; however turns out in order to stay we had to pay an extra $5 cover charge after being in there for 2.5 hrs. Now I know that it's not that much but when I asked the bartender, Pacifica hat with a beard, about it he gave me some very rude attitude and told that if I didn't want to pay the $5 after already spending over $40 there then I would have to leave. To me, this sounds completely backwards, I was shocked and told him we would be more than happy to stay and continue to drink, but he wouldn't give me the time of day and said that their are plenty of other people that would come in besides me and my friends. Needless to say, we left seconds after went to a different bar, spent well over $100 in drinks because of a ridiculous rule and rude bartenders at Winters. As a business man, I do not understand why the owner of this bar is allowing these type of things to happen, but for me and my friends, I can tell them that we will be more than happy to take our business elsewhere going forward. I hope that you do not make the same mistake that we did. read more

If I could give them a minus zero for their service staff I would. They didn't even ask my friend and I if we wanted a drink. They just stare at you. When my friend asked what kind of pale ale they had they pointed at a sign and said, "this is what we have". Didn't even try to suggest one on the menu of many beers. None of the grumpy, non-speaking bartenders seem to understand that they are in a service industry. I've been in other dives but most seem to be happy you are there. These bartenders are clearly in the wrong business-I've seen toast with more personality. I will say the live music was great, but who wants to feel like they are annoying someone when ordering a drink. I won't be back. read more

I used to go every Saturday night. I would always notice how rude the bartenders were to everyone else, but they weren't so rude to me. Then one night I brought friends in and we payed money to play the juke box...the bartender said he didn't like the songs...so he turned it off and then turned on his own music. WORSE YET... I brought friends in who aren't white... And they wouldn't accept their passports as identification and literally told them to "get the fuck out of here!" F.Y.I. Passports are legal forms of identification!!!!!WE WILL NEVER GO BACK. The worst people work there. If you're in Pacifica go to the Seahorse... Much nicer people work there!! read more

Good scene, they usually have some good bands playing, good brews on tap, friendly bartenders and a good smoking scene out back. I fancy a pipe with a drink, any time the smoking circle is friendly and sociable is a big plus. read more

Wow. That's all I can say. Honey went to a show here and thought he lost his phone. I called about 2:30am thinking I'd leave a message letting them know we were looking for a lost phone. Instead I got a very obviously drunk guy who was a total jerk. I tried to explain what happened and he promptly said "we don't have and fu***ng phones!" And hung up on me. Resisting the urge to call back and tell him off I called the next morning around 11 am. A totally nice women checked for me and advised I call back when the owner was there at 1230. Calling back I got the same jerk (if this is the owner he needs a serious customer service lesson) Once again this guy was a totally ass***e to me. After chatting with honey he said he got the feeling this place was run buy a guy who only cares about getting drunk and listening to metal music. News flash asshole: even metal fans don't take disrespect. Especially for something simple. So instead of ever going to a show here and dropping $6 bucks to get in and another $100 in drinks of rather stay home. Or go to a bar where the owner isn't a drunk bastard. I'm half tempted to call Jon Taffer on this buffoon just so he can see how it feels to get talked down to. Went to see Angry Samoans and had a fun time. I really enjoy the live music; especially the punk bands. I would normally be recommending this place, but after the bar closed, my friends and I were hanging out talking to some of the other people outside the bar when we saw one of the employees of the bar chasing after a girl completely naked. Seeing a grown man, butt naked, chasing a girl outside is really not a good way to get and keep customers. I would not recommend going to this place. read more
