I ordered biscuits and gravy which I was crossing my fingers that I wouldn't regret. Delicious! I wanted to try so many things on the menu but was just in town for a day. I had the combo silog (lumpia, pork chop, longanisa, Ilocos sausage, eggs, garlic rice and kamatis (tomatoes). I also split a side of corned beef (not pictured) w/ mija and a female rellie (they shared a combo silog). The food was a definite smash!!!!! The pork chop was tender, and went well with the homemade vinegar & garlic sauce. The long lumpia shanghai was GBD, and also went well with the sauce. The longanisa had a texture that reminded me of childhood, and the Ilocos sausage (that is less fatty), was a nice contrast. Lastly, the savory corned beef was a good way to finish the big portion of garlic rice. I def needed a nap after this meal. Regarding the ambiance, its a small, casual place that holds 50. You order at the front, and your food is brought to you quickly. There were a lot of Flip clients, but there were also a fair number of non-Flip clients. Many of the clients looked like regulars. The staff is super nice, and they play Hawaiian reggae in the background. All in all, an awesome experience in DT Seattle. There's a reason Ludi's is on Yelp's Top 100 list. I have a trip booked in Oct to SEA, and I'm glad my hotel is very close to Ludi's.

What a delectable meal after a 4 hour bus ride Came here…read moreafter dropping off our bags at the hotel, since it was just a 5 minute walk away. We came in around 1:45pmish and it wasn't crowded. They had an amazing selection of pastries, though I didn't try any. I got their Caramelized Banana Latte to satisfy my sweet tooth, and it wasn't too banana-flavored nor too sweet; the black sesame in it balanced it nicely. I also got the Urban Pesto, which was SO yum. I was little skeptical of the focaccia - sometimes I find it to be too puffy, and thus hard to eat the sandwich - but this had a lovely panini press on it that made it easy to eat. The in-house herby cheese in the sandwich made each bite just that much more delicious. The staff was also super nice and accommodating to my parents' requests and questions. Can't wait to come back to try their other food and bev options!

I appreciated that this location has both spacious indoor and outdoor seating. Despite being busy, this was not packed with ample seating still available and not cramped. Nice chill vibe with good music, healthy foliage and pleasant indoor decor, with a reasonable unidirectional service line. Tempting pastry case with savory and sweet choices, the usual bevs, as well as, cocktails. Vibrant place to visit solo or meetups with others. The 16oz iced mokka (mocha) I had was well crafted. Both counter folks were personable and welcoming. I was able to sit at a two top and remain cool during my brief visit on that hot Tuesday early afternoon. They've been an indie (Cafe Hagen/Freya) that has expanded to many locations: here in SLU, two on Queen Anne, downtown on 5th, at Dexter, the Waterfront, Freya in Pike Place Market and Nordic Museum in Ballard, plus sites over in Bellevue and Kirkland. I haven't…read morebeen to this location before and I preferred it to my usual location on Roosevelt in UDistrict. It's much more open and comfortable and lends to a nice ambiance. It was quite busy which we anticipated, so I would highly recommend making a reservation. We were seated right away with our reservation time, but it did take some time to be served. I enjoyed the hot coffee with a bit of cream. It was good; my only comment is that I wasn't offered a refill at any point, and we were there for over an hour. To be fair, it was SUPER busy; like at least 100 people in the dining room. I had one of their seasonal specials, the peaches and cream Swedish pancakes. It was a generous portion included with a trip to the berry bar. The berry bar was very fresh and well maintained as far as cleanliness. It was also in a prime location, near the tables but not too close and not in the way of the walking path. The peaches were juicy and sweet and the cream cheese frosting was a decadent topping. I added some berries which made it extra special. I liked the caramel shards, but they were a little on the thick side for my liking and were a bit tough to eat. However, I really enjoyed the dish overall! I also got a side of peppered bacon which was well-cooked, crispy, and extra peppery. My friend got the classic French toast and a side of potatoes. She loved the French toast with the included berry bar trip! However, the potatoes were cut into HUGE pieces which were difficult to eat even though they were cooked through. I would definitely come back here! If you're looking for a popular brunch spot with delicious sweet brunch options, check on Portage Bay Cafe SLU!

We had a mix of classic breakfast foods like omelettes, french toast and benedict- but our personal fave was the salmon benedict as well as the banana foster french toast!! I have to say, the food was pretty good- nothing super out of the ordinary, but the service is what blew us away. The wait staff was extremely professional, prompt & friendly. Our favorite server was Alexis, he made every breakfast feel like we were having one at home with a friend. The manager, hosts & servers were all amazing people who genuinely just want you to have a good meal. I really admire any restaurant that can truly make it feel like home. It's nice to watch the staff cook because it tells you that the food is fresh. I have high expectations for seafood in Seattle. However, I was disappointed with the scallops as it tasted raw and cool to the touch in the center. I'm not a scallop expert but this one missed the mark - the flavors were off with the sauce (tasted earthy). Presentation and color looked good, but this didn't taste good. Also came here breakfast several times. I don't have pictures, but each time the breakfast was amazing!
