We were in Buffalo to go to the AKG museum. We were inside for better than 3 hours and were hungry…read more Buffalo....Duff's wings. The GPS took us to the first location that opened (the waitress said the 1960s) a long time ago. The building is sitting at an angle from the road so go to the right and turn in to park or go past and turn right for the parking lot. Middle of the afternoon on a Thursday they weren't too busy. We were seated immediately and waited on quick. I wanted some clarity with the wing heat. Some places hot is mild or hot is burn your face off. She clarified the medium hot is hot so that's what I decided on for an order of 6. My sister isn't so much of a wing person so she decided on a grilled cheese. The waitress was pleasant and answered all the questions we had. The restaurant itself isn't too big but can seat a lot of people. Total wing vibe. Lots of different flavors and quantities went by...everything looked tasty and fresh. They had Yuengling on tap so that's what I ordered. She had a pepsi. Food arrived fast. The aroma was to die for (ok it burns the eyes a little...). Came with celery and blue cheese. The wings were amazing, some of the best I have ever eaten. Crunchy celery and cool dipping sauce. Bigger than most that I have ordered and very freshly prepared. After 6 I was filled up...but I ordered another brew just to wash it all down. If you're in Buffalo (or the area) it's definitely worth stopping to have a treat. Other Buffalo favorites are on the menu as well (Beef on Weck sandwich. We will definitely be back, more flavors to try and locations to enjoy.

Tables were too close, people are way too loud. I can't eat in loud surroundings. I don't like that, and it was so hot in there that it made me very uncomfortable. I believe all restaurants and bars, etc. should be air-conditioned and make people comfortable. If they're too cold, they can always put on a jacket but when you're too hot, I can't take much off. I ordered the roast beef on Weck and fries instead of potato chips. I was very satisfied it was delicious. Very expensive, I found everything was very expensive on the menu, but if you want good food, I guess that's what you gotta do is pay more. Jim ordered mild wings, they still looked good even though I'm a hot wing person. I was looking at everybody else's huge plates of wings that were coming out and they looked so amazing. I'm definitely gonna get some to take home some time. Anyway, the wings looked good smelled good, Jim said they were very good, my sandwich was good. The fries were good, the waitresses were nice so the service was pretty good. But again too small, too loud, too hot, and those things just don't make me happy. I probably would go in there again and eat if somebody else wanted to, but I'd rather take my food to go next time. One other issue I had is definitely the restroom. That had to be the smallest stall I have ever been in. Anytime I moved I banged into one of the walls. They have two stalls in there, which to me is definitely not enough when you're serving "spicy hot " food. At one point there was five people in the restroom. Luckily, I just had to wash my hands in that visit. But the restroom is way too small and when I talk to Jim about the ladies room, he said the men's room is super small too, so they're probably about the same size. So that was definitely a negative thing for me was the restroom.

I am not a fan of caramel or peanut butter sauce, so asked for these two items to be excluded. I do not know what other cookie flavor choices there are; I just picked chocolate! It was nicely packed up, with the ice cream in a separate container from the warm cookie. Both made it back to my house, the ice cream still solid and the cookie still warm. It is a wonderful treat. I think it might be difficult to order this after eating wings or a pizza or even a salad first, but as a separate treat, quite nice!

Top-notch spot for wings! We stopped in on a Friday just before 6:00 before heading to a comedy…read moreshow at UB. The location was super convenient. It was a bit busy (30-40 min wait for dining area), but there were a few tables off to the right of the bar where you could seat yourself. Luckily, one opened up right as we walked in. When seated at these tables, you have to order at the bar. The food was absolutely delicious. I had the nuggiez -- the sauce cooled the boneless bites down a little, but the flavor was still great. I loved all the sauces we tried (saucy hot cajun, medium, and garlic parm). The wings were perfectly crisp, and the steak pizza had a ton of flavor. Definitely a heavier meal, but if you're bringing someone from out of town who wants great wings, this is a spot worth taking them to.

The one that started it all…read more.. As you likely know - Anchor Bar is the creator of buffalo wings. I could stop my review here, because that is all that matters. I love buffalo wings, and because of that, Anchor Bar has been on my bucket list for many years. On Friday July 31st, 2026 I finally checked it off the list...and it didn't disappoint. When you walk in you can feel the nostalgia. Make no mistake this is a quintessential dive bar. But it might be: "The" dive bar! The space is dark, and sprawling, with lots of license plates on the walls. We ordered the original wings and an order of potato skins. The skins were good, but the obvious star of the day was the wings! They were plump and tender with the perfect buffalo sauce! Service was good and prices were reasonable. If you love wings you need to make the pilgrimage to Anchor Bar - The one that started it all.

It's been 15 years since I've been back here. Being a little older and wiser about food now, I do think I can kind of see how some of the locals think other places are better. I now think I have to try somewhere else in Buffalo to figure that out for myself. These wings are really good. I'd eat them happily any day of the week. I wish I could get them back home in Philly. Actually... not for nothing. Now I think I could get wings this good in Philly. I mean they sell the sauce back home. And the technique isn't really a secret anymore. But in the end I will always have respect for the OG.

I was able to connect with the owner fairly easily by calling and requesting to place a catering order in advance, the gentleman who anesthetized phone was very polite too! I advised what we needed and when, given a fair price for what our needs were and based on the conversation I had no worries about our pickup. Our food was hot and ready when they said it would be and staff even helped load it in our company van. Our food was clearly labeled and packaged so that we were able to set up, serve quickly and store some in our warmers. The pizza was cut into even portions and the wings were so plans juicy and sauced well! The food was delicious and we had so many coming back for 2nds. I was too busy with set up to get may pictures but we ordered 1 large veggie pizza, 1 large chicken finger pizza, 400 wings( plain, mild, medium, hot and bbq) and 7 sheets of pizza (cheese and pepperoni) and a large pan of salad.

Everything was delicious. All of the pizzas were cooked fine with appropriate amounts of toppings. The wings were barbecue, medium and mild which they described to me as being sweet and tangy, a little different from Buffalo mild. The only problem was both the mild and medium were not sauced enough in my opinion and I'm not even someone who likes saucy wings. But given that everything was so good I decided to give them five stars instead of just four. The night before I picked up the order I learned from a public post that they will become Joey's Pizza soon. I've never been there but their reviews at their main location are pretty good so I'm hopeful that they will stay just as good as this order was.
