Went there today, against my better judgment, and placed an order to go. Of course, it took a while to get the overpriced food but, what the heck, I had a craving. Guy with the stretchers in his ears called my name and pushed a closed paper bag toward me without going over what was in the bag. My daughter and I checked it and, thinking all looked ok, left the store. A few hours later we realized we left an important sensitive item on the counter while haggling with Joanna and guy with the bad acne and stretchers in his ears about a discount. Called up to the store to see if anyone had seen it and was told,
'We are really busy and I don't know if we will be able to look', but he took the number and said he would call back. He did indeed call back and said they didn't have it, sorry. An hour later I called again after combing the entire area for the item to no avail. Spoke to Diana and explained my situation. She told me she attempted to call Joanna, the store manager, several times but she would not answer the phone so she didn't know if she found it and put it somewhere. She promised me she would call me back and took my number. About 10 minutes later Joanna called me and seemed to be very irritated to have to do so as she said, 'I'm not at the store I am at home with my children enjoying my time off and I keep getting these calls saying you keep calling them stressing them out. What is it? I was working the store in the morning and I am saying I did not see the item. I don't know why you keep calling them stressing them out!' I then told her I called a total of 2 times so that doesn't constitute keep calling stressing them out. I then asked her to change her tone when speaking to me because she was bordering being rude and was clearly irritated that she had to deal with this matter. I was not the one who told HER to call me, I was thinking Diana would be the one to call back AFTER she spoke to Joanna and relay the information. Not so...she continued to over talk me and not let me finish a sentence, still being rude and confrontational. When I finally got a chance to speak, I told her I would launch an investigation and possibly pull up the camera footage I know they have to see if someone threw it in the trash as this is a federal government issued sensitive item. She then became enraged and yelled, 'Fine, I will call Andre myself and have him pull the footage! I am not a thief!' First of all no one called her a thief, second no one was yelling but her. The point of this long review is to say that management and customer service at this store is TERRIBLE! If a customer loses something at the store, they are made to feel they are irritating them if they are held to task to help the customer out. The employees don't have to kiss the customers upon entering; however, compassion and the desire to do good should prevail at every customer contact. They should realize they are humans first, a business second. Sorry to say I will NEVER EVER EVER give my money to this store again!!! The service is horrible and this is sad because I like to support Black business owners but...the employees have ruined that. It may not hurt them losing one customer but word of mouth is everything. This entire experience was just not ok. I am so glad Yelp has the forum where customers can post bad experiences. STAY AWAY!!!!!!! read more
